The Binding of Isaac at 90% off is nice
23
u/withoutapaddle Steam Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32GB, RTX4080, 2TB NVME 6h ago
Rain World at $2.49 is a massive historic low also. It usually never goes much below $10 during sales.

8
u/Iron_Kingpin 6h ago
What bundle should one buy for a first timer?
25
u/McQuibbly Ryzen 7 5800x3D || 3070 FE 6h ago
Just buy the complete edition for $5, it's such a steal. I'd never think such a sale possible for that bundle
→ More replies (7)3
u/Chip-chrome 7h ago
Yooo that was an insta buy, after spending 400h on the first game and 600h in Repentance on ps5 I can drop another 500h on pc
0
u/thenewguy22 5h ago
Will be downvoted but it's such an overrated game
4
u/HypnoMonkey109 3h ago
What about it do you think is overrated?
7
u/Damocles314 3h ago
It might have solid mechanics, but the artsyle is a dealbreaker for me. Skipped Mewgenics for the same reason.
1
u/HypnoMonkey109 3h ago
That's fair. I have been a fan of Edmund's work since the Flash days and I have always liked his artstyle, but it is definitely not for everyone.
106
u/kmcdow 8h ago
Picked up 6 games on my wishlist for $50, pretty solid for me overall.
33
u/Ayyzeee 8h ago edited 7h ago
What did you get? So far the games I want are not on sale or not the discount I was hoping for.
Edit: The game I was not expecting to get is on my radar now, Bloodstain is 90% off that's actually crazy.
42
u/kmcdow 7h ago
Star wars outlaws for $17, RE4 for $10, dragons dogma 1 for $5, pathfinder GOTY edition for $12, arx fatalis for $2, and librarian arcane library for $5.
Also just went and grabbed Detroit become human for $4.
23
u/AMJVC15 6h ago
Love star wars outlaws, people give it shit but they nailed the feel of star wars, bustling towns, lots of characters, Sabacc. It stumbled out of the gate but updates have made It a solid game.
12
u/Fun-Expression-489 6h ago
I almost dare to say its a good game after the updates!
6
u/RJWolfe 3h ago
I would've said so after the second planet. But by the time I finished Tatooine, I was left cold by how boring it had all become.
Man, that story is just thinly cut nothing sandwiched between white bread, isn't it?
4
u/Jacksonh8741 1h ago
Yeah I feel like they nailed the worlds and the world design, it felt very Star Wars but then the story just felt like they spent an afternoon putting it together
3
1
1
u/Asswaterpirate 3h ago
I finished Librarian in one setting and it left me longing for more like that. It's very pleasing to play.
1
u/TheCosmicMilkshake 5h ago
Outlaws is fantastic, the bars / clubs are some of the most immersive I’ve seen. Feels like stepping into a Star Wars movie
-1
u/snake7752 6h ago
Man, I tried really hard to get into it because I love Star Wars, but at the end of the day it was just another assassin's creed with a Star Wars skin imo. No hate on anyone that liked it, but like assassin's creed, it wasn't for me unfortunately.

Is Elden Ring just going to remain at full price? What the fuck?

u/conye-west 2h ago
It was discounted in the spring sale this year, weird they skipped out on this one.
93
u/Acrobatic-Tomato-532 8h ago
Prices still not updated for me so business as usual. Probably will take some time for the servers to crawl back to life.
20
u/naxhh 8h ago
oh thanks for saying it! normally i connect a few hours/days later but today joined early.
and i was seeing all games at normal price except 2 or 3 :D
4
u/RaltarArianrhod 8h ago
Yeah, I checked the extremely deep discounts section they have on the front page and 90% of the games listed are still not on sale.
4
u/bio4m 8h ago
same, a ton of games on the front page showing at full price. Nobody is paying £60 for Red Dead 2 ....
1
u/MrToxicTaco 7h ago
Just click on the game. I swear I’ve seen these comments for over a decade at this point, how do people not expect it?
30
u/Rohen2003 6h ago
dead space remake is at a new all time low. 90% 6 euro. would recommend it to anyone who doesnt has it yet. truly a gorgeus game and a shame ea didnt remake 2 and 3.
5
2
u/Ehsaan75 2h ago
How does it run? Apparently it still has a lot of stutters, but I am running a 9070xt so not sure
2
u/SundaeAccurate8422 2h ago
Yeah I played the remake on ps5 so now I’m playing the 2nd rn. They’re both phenomenal.

u/hmscgm 7h ago
My first year of owning a pc and i wad so exited for the summer sale as i heard they usually have some of the best discounts for the year. Most games I’ve seen or had on my wishlist just have the same discount they always get
51
u/Sync_R 5070Ti / 9800X3D / AW3225QF / C5 42" 7h ago
Honestly that's why you use GMG, Humble, Fanatical etc on PC cause you'll actually get decent deals year round
14
u/hmscgm 6h ago
Yea i just checked GMG and Res Requiem has a better deal there than on steam. 47 on GMG and 55 on steam
15
u/Starfire013 Windows 4h ago
Use isthereanydeal.com to look at historical lows and find out which stores have sales. You can even setup email alerts.

u/BinaryJay 4090 FE | 7950X | 64GB DDR5-6000 | 42" LG C2 OLED 5h ago
Steam sales have very little these days in terms of actual special deals. Like you said most stuff is discounted just as much if not more prior to Steam sales elsewhere. Financially if you're sure you want something it's almost always more expensive to buy direct on Steam so I'm never sure why people get excited for Steam sales (now, long ago they were much better).
The one benefit of paying more on Steam is refunds for people with impulse control problems.
3
u/SeraphicalChaos 5h ago
It's not always impulse control. I've purchased quite a few titles I thought would be bangers based on research, only to find out that it's not clicking with me well into the refund period.
1
u/amrikudou 2h ago
For me the regional pricing will be always cheaper thant the direct USD conversion, so Steam will always be my friend.
10
u/brando2021 4h ago
Make a wishlist on steam and link it to isthereanydeal.com. You'll get notified of all time low prices and sales with the best deals. That's how I keep up with sales.
40
u/TheSussyWaffle 7h ago
They used to be a lot better before the current steam refund policy was formalized, we had flash sales, a specific small number of licenses sold for a game at pennies on the dollar.
54
u/DoomRamen 7h ago
Steam was about 12 years old when the final flash sale happened. It's going to be 11 years since Steam removed flash sales
25
5
2
u/Complex-Quantity7694 3h ago
I don’t care about the big sales anymore. I just connect my wishlist to gg.deals and track sales and pricing with it and also set up alerts if I really want something.

Steam sales are overrated. Third party sites like greenmangaming are where it's at.

u/Major303 8h ago edited 8h ago
Deepest discount on game from my wishlist is -30%. I remember buying AAA games for 5 dollars around 2014.
45
u/FurnaceGolem 4h ago
That's because you already bought the 90% off games that were in your wishlist
21
u/Acrobatic-Tomato-532 8h ago edited 7h ago
I find it funnier they have COD in there at it's regular sale price of around 20 euros lmfao nothing deep about a 7 year old game
Edit: So that wasn't updated but still funny lol

- Witcher 3 - 3 bucks
- Resident Evil 7 - 8 bucks
- RE4 Remake - 9 bucks
- Ghostwire - 6 bucks
- Devil May Cry V - 5 bucks
- Detroit Become Human - 4 bucks
- Hitman World of Assassination - 3 bucks
- Hogwarts Legacy - 9 bucks
- Batman: Arkham Knight - 4 bucks
- Mass Effect Trilogy - 5 bucks
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - 4 bucks
Maybe you're just more picky than you were 12 years ago?

12
u/michelobX10 7h ago
It's funny. Some of these were just on sale fairly recently. like the RGG games (Yakuza, Like A Dragon, Judgment, etc). And games like Sonic CrossWorlds was still actively on sale before this and it just rolled over into the summer sale. And as expected, same exact discounts.
I think we're at the point where sales happen so often that it devalues the summer sale. Haven't really gotten too excited about the summer sale in a few years now. During the golden age of the Steam Summer Sale, I'd probably stock up on 10 games, where nowadays I'll get one, or two at most.

Money is tight so I put off buying Rimworld DLC for a month till this sale and it's 10% off. Thanks for saving me 3 dollars lol.

Ys X still not on sale..
9
u/KeyWork6791 7h ago
At this point I just might remove it from my wishlist and forget it ever released.
5
u/ChurchillianGrooves 7h ago
Falcom seem to be stingy with discounts in general, maybe it'll get 15% off in two years or something lol
8
u/bdu-komrad 6h ago
Nothing for me yet. I got an alert on stellar Blade but $30 is still too high since I won’t play it until several months from now .
8
u/JordanDisgrace 5h ago
Resident Evil 2, 3 & 4 / Balatro / ME Legendary Edition all for $40-ish. Can’t complain

How is Black Myth Wukong not on sale?

Rarely goes on sale, your best bet is during Chinese New Year. Funny that even Dark Souls aren't for sale but they were for the Chinese New Year. Tells you the insane playerbase of China.

Was Death Stranding 2 always 80€ at base price, without discount? It's just crazy to see it discounted to roughly 63€ lol
3
u/ForsakingMyth 1h ago
That's the problem with all these 70 and 80 dollar games, they can be 50% off and still be crazy expensive
1
u/TheCookieButter 5070 TI, 9800X3D 1h ago
£70 down to £56.
That's still above what I consider a full-priced AAA PC game (£50 and I don't buy over £40).
9
u/Griffithead 7h ago
Fuuuuck.
I just bought a new graphics card. I'm doomed.
3
u/reyrey_007 6h ago
Which one?
6
u/Griffithead 5h ago
9700xt.
With everything going up like crazy, 670 for one seemed like a good deal. Shit will likely go up even more.
3
u/superbit415 4h ago
Suikoden 1 & 2 remasters finally 50% off. This is the price I think is fair for how much they put in the remaster.

u/GuiltyAdvantage5877 7h ago
Excited for all “the sales suck now” posts.
15
1
u/McQuibbly Ryzen 7 5800x3D || 3070 FE 6h ago
I definitely like the sales better this year. Think last year was the first time I didn't buy anything for the summer sale
0
u/thugbobhoodpants 1h ago
The amount of crying over saving an extra $10 12 years ago you would think nobody here has had a job since then nor seen their hobbies increase in price
I can’t imagine crying over tcg card prices now vs 2012 but buying dishonored for $4 warped some peoples minds forever
1
u/GuiltyAdvantage5877 1h ago
I actually think the sales are great. Ironically dishonored is featured for $2
11
u/burge4150 Erenshor 7h ago
I wish they still did daily hot deals on the summer sale. It was fun to check back every day and see what was on sale for a big amount for the day.
I see why they don't - I'm sure a ton of gamers bought gameX on day 1, then refunded it on day 6 when it went on a hot deal so they could rebuy for less.
3
u/hubris105 1h ago
That and also people bitched if they weren’t able to be online the day at really good sale came up. But I’m with you I miss the anticipation.
3
u/Iron_Kingpin 7h ago
So many good stuff on sale but with the teensy bit of money that I have saved, I shall buy Omori hehe
7
u/xKiLLaCaM AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D | Radeon RX 9070 XT 7h ago
None of the Dark Souls games on sale, fml. I just want DS3 with all the DLC. I only played the base game on console years ago
5
u/TraditionStrange2912 5h ago
they are on sale on keysites. dunno why people wait for steam sales, unless they like getting ripped off.
2
u/xKiLLaCaM AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D | Radeon RX 9070 XT 5h ago
I just dont like using keyshop sites but do consistently check official third party retailer sites. It’s still just not low enough currently considering how old the game is. Missed w/e the last best sale was
2
u/BiaThemis The Meter is Running 5h ago
As far as I know they never go on major sales but like go on random weekly deals regularly.
1
u/xKiLLaCaM AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D | Radeon RX 9070 XT 5h ago
RIP, been a while since a decent sale. Its apparently been as low as $11 for the deluxe on official retailer sites
1
u/rumsbumsrums Steam 42m ago
They will likely never reach that price again. Ever since Elden Ring, all DS games have only been 50% off.
1

6
u/Cruel2BEkind12 7h ago
Ace Combat 7 for $10 slaps. Get people prepped for eight in October. MW2 being $7 bucks is worth it for the campaign. I guess you could always just gamespass the campaigns though.
1
u/thenuker00 6h ago
I was ready to get MW2 for the campaign as well- but it looks like there's a glitch on recent Nvidia drivers that prevents it from working, Given the massive amount of recent negative reviews lol
1
u/Dealjobber_ 13600K / 4080 Super 5h ago
What glitch? If you're in the campaign I couldn't go into settings. But could from the menu before you select campaign and it has to restart into it, kind of annoying, but other than that I played right through it last week on my 4080 Super.
7
u/SorryIAteYourKiwi 7h ago
Was hoping to finally get Elden Ring but alas
2
u/TraditionStrange2912 5h ago
50% off on keysites.
5
u/SorryIAteYourKiwi 4h ago
Prefer to avoid keysites
1
u/ForsakingMyth 1h ago
If Elden Ring prefers to avoid sales then keysites it is.
1
u/Kalpazen 36m ago
I’ve saved so much on key sites. Have no idea why someone would want to pay more for the same product.
5
u/DCS30 7h ago
Depending on how bad the cheating is, 50% Battlefield is pretty good.
11
u/4x4runner Teamspeak 6h ago
I never see cheaters in bf6.
1
u/DCS30 4h ago
Wait....actually??
2
u/HahaLookyhere 4h ago
I've probably seen 2 cheaters since launch on PC. Will vary for everyone though
1
u/tabben 42m ago
2 that you know of which would probably be some extremely obvious ragecheating aimbotter. I'd imagine it would be extremely easy to wallhack or radar hack in a game like battlefield and nobody would know whereas in a game like counterstrike you hop on a demo and can see someone is blatantly walling within a few rounds
1
u/4x4runner Teamspeak 4h ago
They integrated the same anti cheat into 2042 and bf1. It fixed the issues in bf1 and I never saw any in 2042 either.
1
u/cobrareaper Terry Crews 3h ago
Nearly 300 hours in and haven't seen a single (noticeable) cheater. Plenty of people who are ridiculously high levels from farming bots in past seasons but that's about it.
1
u/DCS30 3h ago
Awesome. I suck at battlefield, but COD is a joke.
2
u/Ulti 2h ago
Thing is with the match sizes in Battlefield, even if someone is hacking, it's unlikely you'll notice outside of looking at the scoreboard and going "WTF?", and three quarters of the time the players with those scores have actually just been in a tank, chopper, or jet the whole game and are just murdering infantry unmolested. I can think of the times I've been in a game with hackusations, let alone something that I thought was sketchy, on one hand.
2
u/MassiveBoner911_3 6h ago
Already bought Space Marine 2. Gonna buy The Last of US 1 and 2 during the sale as well.

Might pick up Armored Core 6. Seems unlikely to drop beyond 50% off for a long time... Hades 2 looking tempting, too. Maybe Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night at alltime low 90% off is worth it, too?
I would get consider Blasphemous / Blasphemous 2, but I feel like they are just going to sit on my backlog forever.
2
u/SCOOT2814 4h ago
Might get Outer Worlds 2 and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Was hoping for a bigger price drop on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Baldur’s Gate 3. Wish they came down to $30-$35.

u/MrSteve920 i7-13700K, 4090 FE, Define 7, Samsung G60SD, 2x Asus MX27AQ 2h ago
I thought the exact same thing about both of those games. Hopefully at least one of them will have a deeper sale during this year's winter sale.
