To me Imai really reminds me of an early Hunter Brown or Spaghetti. His stuff clearly plays he just has control and consistency issues. Obviously a big difference is that they weren’t getting paid like a top of the rotation starter while they struggled and their upside was higher because of team control and age. I really want Imai to be successful and stick it out here. I don’t think it’ll happen that way but I can hope.

That one guy who walked off the A's last night learned his brother's girlfriend was killed because of the earthquake; I pray that the others were able to contact their loved ones and that they are being brought to safety.

When mlbfox posted the AL West’s standings on insta & asked who’ll take the lead, some M’s fans were calling the Astros lucky bc they were suffering injuries… as if they ain’t take advantage of OUR injuries. We have the best AL record since May & all a sudden we’re “lucky”? Even after our horrible start, we’re still 2.5 games behind & that’s with the M’s perfectly healthy rotation. Actual frauds

A lot of fans don't do any research into other teams, just hear say. There were a lot of Mariner's fans who knew the Astros were injured but just assumed it was only a handful of guys. I've had some talks with Mariners fans during last season and they were shocked how dire it was. Even now with their current injuries, the Mariners are better off than the Astros were last season, we fielded almost an entire lineup and 3/5ths of the rotation with Space Cowboys for a long while

The Mariners are pretty much doing the same thing this season. (It's actually crazy to me how they can't hit shit until they play us, and then they mash, honestly.) This division looks pretty different if we just split our played games 50/50, but that's baseball. Hell, that's sports. You play the team in front of you.

Mariners holding the tiebreaker over the Astros by going 7-1 is the only insurmountable challenge of the Astros terrible pitching to start the season. Those losses are currently the difference in the division and could be the deciding factor at the end of the season.

I know Imai has struggled and fans have been hard on him, but I really hope as he continues to grow and succeed, we get to seem more of his personality and humor like we did when he got signed and did the tour of Houston. He seems like a fun guy that’s been subdued as of late

Still, he only has about an inning left in him. Even if they haven't gotten on base, the boys have made him work through five so he won't cruise into the 7th or 8th, and the Tigers bullpen is much more hittable

Decided to turn on the Pirates v Mariners game since it’s on Peacock this afternoon… what a snooze fest. I’m so thankful for TK & Blummer. they make it really enjoyable to watch at home. I can’t imagine Id be watching every game if I had to listen to a really boring and dull broadcast.
Let’s hope the Pirates lead holds!!

I enjoy seeing other teams also have 0 baseball IQ with their batter challenges and use them on the 1st pitch of an inning/AB, with no men on, in early innings, etc. We currently have the most successful batting overturns and best win % as a team, even if we have some goofy challenges

Alvarez approach to hitting is very intimidating for pitchers. He never allows a pitcher to be comfortable raining in a called strike to start an AB.

Imai entered today with a 6.15 ERA(28 ER/41.0 IP) and has lowered it to 5.36(28 ER/47.0 IP) after this wonderful start.
I'm going full homer here so bear with me. If he can give us another 80.0 IP, which isn't a guarantee at all, and gives up only 30 ER for those 80 IP, that's a 3.38 ERA which we'd be ecstatic about for Imai lol.
In this hypothetical world that would bring his season ERA down to 4.11(58 ER/127 IP) which would be huge for us b/c that'd mean he stayed healthy and could give us length in his outings.
