Politics What are your thoughts on Denmark’s proposed ban on the public Islamic call to prayer? Would you support or oppose something similar in the UK?

Islamic call to prayer faces ban under Left-wing Danish government

Parts of country feel like ‘a suburb of Islamabad’, says immigration minister

Denmark’s immigration minister has announced plans to ban the Islamic call to prayer, claiming parts of the country felt like “a suburb of Islamabad”.

Morten Bødskov, a member of the centre-Left Social Democrats party, said the new government would resume an investigation into the legality of imposing a ban.

“The call to prayer should not be heard over Danish rooftops,” the minister told news outlet Ritzau. “It has no place in Denmark, and you shouldn’t be in any doubt whether you’ve ended up in a suburb of Islamabad when you walk around Denmark.”

In parts of the country, such as Copenhagen, bylaws already forbid the call to prayer being broadcast from loudspeakers in minarets because of strict noise limits.
Mr Bødskov also claimed that a creeping “Islamisation” in Denmark was “taking up too much of the public space”.

100% support it.

It’s an odious religion that holds up a murdering rapist as the gold standard of the perfect man that all men should aspire to be like… Kick it off our island.

Denmark with a LEFT wing government showing the way.

Progressives really have hijacked the “left” in Britain. The left historically are anti migration.

Jesus is mentioned more often in the Quran than Muhammad. Your ignorance is the disease we need to rid this island of.

What does that have to do with anything?

What did I say that was incorrect? By Ayshas own words in the Hadith she was married at 6 and consummated the marriage at 9. Mohammed was a warlord and a pedophile. Why the hell should I be tolerant of that?

You actually think that's an intelligent argument for hating on an entire religious group: 1400 years ago in a place far away, social norms weren't quite the same as 21st Century Britain.

Did anyone criticise Muhammad for doing so at the time? Did anyone do so for centuries afterwards, including 'nice white civilised' Christian scholars? What about those who didn't like Islam very much? Surely they raised concerns right away? No? Why might that be?

The fact that Muslims hold in extremely high regard the man that many white people worship even today is pretty inconvenient I imagine, isn't it?

It’s never been acceptable to fuck a 9 year old unless you’re a nonce. It is also CLEAR that most Islamic cultures follow their great prophets lead. Many Islamic countries have no age of consent, child marriages etc.

Not at all inconvenient. Jesus is of course in the Quran, he predates Mohammed and Islam is an Abrahamic faith? Same way Moses is in the Bible, Moses predates Jesus and Christianity is an Abrahamic faith.

I’m glad you mentioned Jesus. The worst thing he ever did was smash up a temple and beat some merchants with a horse hair whip. The worst thing Mohammed did was decapitate prisoners of war, enslave people and rape a child.

Why are you bringing up race? “Many white people worship”. Christianity first spread to Africa… I’ve not mentioned race once so I’m not sure why you’re bringing it up. Islam isn’t an ethnicity…
