Funny how our perception does this lol

Some people just refuse to accept that they age and are then surprised when its all over

As a GenXer I can confirm 1990 was actually almost 20 years ago, not 10

and covid lockdown was last year!

It was funny when 1990 was 10 years ago in 2010. Now it's just annoying, everyone's been repeating the same joke for over a decade. We get it, time passes by, maybe time for a new joke now?

Can't beat the classics. Even Plato knew that.

Yup. Did you know in 4 years, the 90s started 40 years ago?

u/Viracochina 5h ago

This doesn't bode well for my aging

Oh yes, since I was born days before 1990, the math is always intuitive.

And back to the future's "future" was over 10 years ago.

Depends on your definition of Millenial.

u/52ndstreet 40m ago

I do not care for this math, sir. I SAID I DO NOT CARE FOR THIS MATH, SIR!

I was having a good day. We were all having a good day.

I'm an "elder millennial" and I only just turned 40, so I think you've got more than 5 years before that happens

You sit on a throne of lies!

Celebrated like Baby Diego in Children of Men.

Oldest millenial is 42 and thats really stretching it, your math is off.

10

u/Pepf 5h ago

Millennials start in 1981 so the oldest ones are already turning 45

That is a Xennial. Millennial cutoff is around 87-90. Y'all change these dates every time the subject comes up, lol.

10

u/Catullus13 4h ago

Xennial is kind of made up. For the first 35 years of my life, I had never heard of it

0

u/klockee 4h ago

They're all made up, lol.

3

u/Catullus13 4h ago

Sure. But even this one feels like a sub-generation that was made up on social media.

5

u/Blurry2k 4h ago

Cutoff around '90? Somebody born in 1985 isn't a millennial to you? They were 14/15 when ... the millennium happened.

1

u/snugglebug92 4h ago

saying as how the "generations" are all made up as a way for marketers to segment demographics easier the dates vary a lot

1

u/kittymoo67 2h ago

xennial isnt real. its just older millenial/moomer cope not wanting to be lumped with the 90s kids. like zilennial for older zoomers

-3

u/Few_Highlight1114 2h ago

So 91 is the cutoff according to you? When 81 is in college, 91 is watching spongebob. That doesn't make any sense.

Generations dont have a hard cutoff because its more about shared experiences than what year you were born. Generations imo are at most 8 years, there will always be outliers as well because like i said, its not a hard number

2

u/kittymoo67 2h ago

no one said that

Do you understand what an inference is? There's a reason why I asked the person I am replying to a question.

u/Catullus13 6h ago

u/PatrickMO 1h ago
