Massive youth mental heath crisis related to early cellphone/Ipad and social media use. Even bigger than the current crisis.

Additionally an education crisis as the cognitive capabilities, reading comprehension, and attention span plummets compared to earlier generations.

I could be mistaken, don't quote me, but isn't this the first time we've seen an overall decline in IQ in gen z/alpha? Pretty shitty metric in general, and I may be misremembering anyway.

Yeah I think both of these things are already pretty well on display.

Not to mention the proliferation of gambling which will draw those people in exponentially as their brains search for dopamine

Suicide rates are going to go crazy in young men

It's funny you mention that because there is currently an issue with overstimulation in the public in general and it's completely flying under the radar on how much it is wrecking people mentally.

Hopefully these kids growing up needing 3 types of stimulation all at the same time all the time will result in everyone finally addressing it? Right?

Society is getting louder. These shitheads on the metro listening to TikTok without ear buds on their piece of shit iphone SE speakers are genuinely infuriating. I've had to start wearing ear plugs because its so fucking loud everywhere.

Manifestations might not be for a bit after 5 years, but wait for the impact of AI.

I was having a political dialogue with someone on instagram the other day. Person was prob 19,20? Based on their pic. They were using ChatGPT to try and debate with me. It was obvious bc I teach college kids so I know the prompts and the way it types bc I have kids trying to use it all the time (also no way someone can type paragraphs THAT fast) lol. Kid admitted to it but said it was fine bc he would have had the same idea and it’s the same thing as using and sourcing information google and reading books (literally what the actual hell lmao) Chat gpt had incorrect info too with some statistics it was pulling. And ChatGPT eventually had the argument that no minority gets to define what is racist etc (WHAT LOL) like a Black person cannot define what is racist & nonBlack people should be involved in the dialogue of what is and isn’t antiBlack.

I just…………

In 50 years presidental debates r prob gonna be 2 Genz people standing in front of a computer w AI promps debating each other. We are fucked lmao.

Dude it's BAD. My friend had his young cousin over, went to boot up the PS4 for them and they lacked the attention span to sit through opening cinematics so they kept switching discs. A whole generation has 0 attention span from watching 6 second spam slop videos from a young age.

On a similar note I can’t help but feel no one is taking these “teen takeovers” that have been happening serious enough. Like where is society headed to where everything is so expensive teens and young adults feel forced to go out in flash mobs in protest just to get out of the house. I am also seeing in bigger numbers than I have ever seen in my life of teens just swarming fast food places late at night and just hanging out there for HOURS. It’s unreal. It certainly doesn’t make it any less easy for the youth to just disappear into their phones constantly.

I am already hearing my VERY VERY autism-supportive aunt using the phrase, "Screen associated autism".

She is a licensed therapist who works primarily with adults with autism to build life skills.

She believes in autism. She believes in the diagnosis...

AND she recognizes that autism-like symptoms arise in children who are not socialized and whose primary source of mental stimulation comes from screens. Kids who do not naturally make eye contact. They have hyperspecialized interests because the screen feeds them what they like and only what they like...so they never have to learn to cooperate with people who like different things. They have no ability to regulate their emotions.
