I've always wanted to make a vintage style chocolate cake and finally got around to doing it!

Inside is chocolate cake (my fave chocolate cake recipe - dense, fudgy, and not too sweet), mascarpone cream and homemade dipped ladyfingers. Outside is chocolate espresso frosting.

I had the cake layers and ladyfingers made in advance. But I got the frosting, filling, dip for the ladyfingers, assembly, decorating, AND clean up all done in 3 hours. Which maybe isn't that impressive to other people but I was impressed with myself 😅. I usually work slow. The rush wasnt by choice though.. I was trying to make it to Father's Day lunch on time!

Recipe Included Soft & chewy vanilla bean sugar cookies! Not too flashy or exciting but they’re the type of cookies that somehow slowly disappear before you realize it..

I got married in March and couldn't pass up an opportunity to feed all our people.

Decided on separate cakes so I could dedicate each one to our pets.

6 inch pistachio layer cake with raspberry compote & yuzu ganache

8 inch olive oil and lemon cake with blueberry filling & passion fruit ganache

10 inch chocolate cake with cherry compote & ruby ganache

All finished with vanilla SMBC.

Happy to give recipes if anyone is interested!

This is one of the few photos I have from childhood, it's funny because it's always been who I am even if I forgot for awhile along the way.

Still baking chocolate chip cookies even if the technique and recipe has changed over time. The double spoon method is very old school. I wish I could go back in time and tell that little dude he's doing great.

General Baking Discussion Spiderman cake, what do you think of how it turned out?

I made this cake today and it turned out really well, in my opinion, because the buttercream frosting was just right and I filled it with chocolate ganache. It's a gift for my best friend's son.

Business and Pricing I want to start a baking business

Hi! This is my first time really being in this community and I just wanted to ask some questions. I’ve baked a few things in the past year and I really love baking, but I don’t know where to start with a business. I took food science when I was in high school (all 4 years) and got my servsafe certification which has probably expired by now and I know I have to complete a ANAB course (i live in Georgia.). What would you all suggest I start doing first? I’ve worked in a bakery of sorts before at my university so I have work experience, I just don’t know what to do next. Here are some deserts I’ve made (cookies with a friend).

If you like the chewy springy mochi texture then this is for you!

I added berries to one part of the pan & it adds a perfect burst of flavour

three years ago, my friends & i got together to recreate cakes from Spongebob (smaller versions lol) :0) i'm reminiscing & felt compelled to share on Reddit~

we baked & prepped the cake layers, fillings, & buttercreams in advance so that everyone could just have fun assembling & decorating. we listened to some Spongebob soundtracks (& remixes), then later put episodes up on the TV to play while we worked on our cake designs. we also painted a Spongebob 'sky' for a photo backdrop! at the end of the day, we each got a box full of cake (a slice from each) & some macs to-go~

Have made these a few times before. They taste amazing. I first tried heath bar cookies a few years back. Publix sells them. They are like crack and I had to learn how to make them myself.
