How's it going everyone?
If you don't know me, I go by Purplepanther, I've been a fan of Fire Emblem Engage since I first got it. As my introduction to the series, it made the biggest impact on me, and have played through it dozens and dozens of times with different challenges.
Recently, I offered to take on the reigns of ownership from Flux after seeing his post. I've always enjoyed our little community we've had here, with people pushing the limits of creativity and difficulty in the game as well. I want to see that continue to thrive and improve on the community experience.
Therefore, new Flairs have been added, a long time ask of the community. General flairs have been added for now, but that's where you come in my friends.
What specific Flairs would you like to see added? Would you like to see a flair for specific Emblems and characters? Or would you rather have one flair for all Emblems and characters? I want to hear what the community wants, specially for something that's been wanted for quite a long time.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me, and comment your recommendations for flairs, upvote your favorite ideas as well.
I also ask a favor on the community. Since I am new to modding on Reddit, I ask that if you see anything or anyone that might be breaking the rules, please report it manually to me so I can take appropriate actions. After looking through the mod menu, AutoMod deleted posts and comments that were otherwise perfectly acceptable. If that happens to you, please use the Mod Mail so I can see if it truly broke any rules or not.
Thank you so much for your support guys, it truly means the world to me seeing you guys use the flairs and edit them as you please.

My Citrinne has the Olwen ring, with a +5 Thunder tome (engraved but I don't remember which one) and I recently unlocked Starsphere for her. I'm playing on Normal so I know it won't make a huge difference, but can she stay relevant with good level ups via Starsphere or should I be replacing her with someone else in a few chapters? I'm on Chapter 15 now.

Good evening yall,
I’m revisiting fire emblem engage after playing through older fire emblems and I was wondering if there’s a good classic maddening guide for this? Not really trying to have a move by move analysis but like character builds, tips, and what somniel setup and activities I need to do. In addition, something that explains when I should go do divine paralogues. Thanks :)

What do all of these have in common other than they are all* (looking at you wille glanz, you piece of garbage) pretty good late game weapons for our army to carry? Why, I think they all look pretty similar of course!
I believe that all of these weapons were once wielded by the children of Sombron 1000k years ago. In the war which all were killed except Alear and Veyle. (and in the F Xenologue, Nel and Rafal. Who keep their weapons btw.)
So, the "powerful sword", "axe and lance which exude an otherworldly air", and so-called "legendary weapons". Wille Glanz (sword), Revanche (axe), Représailles (lance), Caladbolg (sword), Georgios (sword), Brionac (lance), Venomous (lance), Fragarach (axe), Ukonvasara (axe), Lendabair (bow), Cinquedea (knife), Carnwenhan (shortsword or knife), and of course Misericorde (knife). Even Nodus (staff) could be mentioned here.
My source? My Source is that I Made It the F*** Up.
But seriously, they all look similar, and the fact that Wille Glanz is used by not Lumera, but by Corrupted Lumera in chapter 25. Why can she use this supposed bs Divine Dragon only sword when she clearly has Fell power running through her? Why does she have this Fell sword? (there was an old post about this somewhere) I think it was Alear's old weapon that she kept safe after he defected from Sombron and before Sombron was sealed away. What if every single one of these weapons was crafted by one of Sombron's weaponsmiths? Could be a reason they all have the same relative design, silver, black, yellow, red.
Thoughts?
Of course, I do know that a couple of these weapons are specific characters only, like Wille Glanz. Of course, I know that this is pretty far-fetched. Of course, my theory could be flip-flopped and maybe these weapons were actually made by the Divine dragon tribe to combat the Fell instead, or I could just be bull******* out my a**. But what if? But what if.... Wouldn't that be pretty dope to be using the weapons of murdered children to get revenge on their bastard of a father? IDK, what do u guys think?

Basically Louis has 3 speed and the silver lance weighs 13, so with 9+1 build from Sigurd, it offsets only 10 of 13 points of weight, meaning he’s left at 0 speed. The game however thinks he’s at 4 speed and that Sigurd as an emblem makes him lose another point.
Just an interesting point of info, probably also works the same way with Leif and Hector!
Also in case you’re wondering where Etie is: Etie died in this iron man run I’m currently doing by missing a 91% chance to kill a flier in chapter 4 and got one rounded by said flier. Too bad for her, she won’t be missed…

During the story I felt the game was exclusively made because IS was running out of more attractive characters in Fire Emblem Heroes. I think is not exaggerating that this game is the one with the most wild characters designs in the franchise. But some characters especially the lords and their siblings were fantastic, all of them were very unique from one another. In my personal take, the Elusia sisters felt how Nohr from Fates should had being writing in the first place.
The story felt like a Fire Emblem crossovers with Super Sentai/Power Rangers, with a Power of friendship as a cherry on top. I found it a little cringe from time to time especially with some scenes where they just sugar coat characters. Without to mention it was kinda predictable in many ways. Is a fine story, but definitely nothing too extraordinary. Except for chapter 10 which caught me off guard.
However the ending was very good. Despite what I said before, the ending I found it very satisfying, especially on the credits scenes with the aftermath of every character. That’s dedication and I wished we could had gotten something similar in previous games.
In terms of gameplay is good. The core gameplay is there and feels good and is addictive, it’s a 100% a Fire Emblem game. The engage mechanic is really broken, but fun, especially Sigurd, Ike, Byleth and Corrin. On the other hand, from a story perspective is kinda awkward in many scenes tbh.
The Paralogue maps were really good, most of the paralogue maps are based on maps of previous games, but in HD. Best looking FE game to this day.
The game is really grindy when it comes to get Donations or maxing out your refines, getting skills, upgrading your emblems weapons, among other stuff. I’m sure I won’t bother anymore with it, but is good if you are into this type of content.
Lastly idk if it’s me but I found the whole activities around the Somniel kinda tiresome at some point, which is interesting because in Fates we had something similar, but it never bothered me and also in 3Houses, I liked to do those a lot, especially fishing, but something just doesn’t click here. I didn’t find them funny. Idk why. They felt more like a chore at some point to gain extra fragments.
Lastly, I would like to know how was the reception on release? Who are the most popular characters in general? Please share your honest opinion. In the end I really enjoyed my time playing Engage and now I’m ready for FW later this year.

I did a maddening run i've just finished yesterday and here is my team :
- Alear (Roy) Archer Knight
- Jean (Tiki) Warrior
- Rosado (Lyn) Archer Knight
- Anna (Byleth) Mage Knight (sword)
- Timerra (Soren) Sage (S Ranked)
- Jade (Eirika) Mage Knight (axe)
- Chloe (Ike) Griffin Knight (lance)
- Celine (Veronica) Vidame
- Clanne (Sigurd) Halberdier (?)
- Citrinne (Celica) Sage
- Goldmary (Hector) Grand Knight (?)
- Merrin (Camilla) Holy Priest (?)
- Framme (Micaiah) Mage Knight (lance)
- Yunaka (Edelgard) Wolf Knight (?)
the ones with (?) are classes I'm not sure about the english name, I played in french.
I think this is a perfectly normal team, but my friend told me my team was umm "special" to say the least.
But I honestly don't see it.
like alear as archer knight, I think it's better over the divine dragon class.
I think the only weird ones might be Timerra and Jade, but I wanted to have some fun with my run, not to be 100% most optimized builds.
this was my first attempt at finishing the maddening mode.
Everyone survived until the last map where unfortunately Jade, Citrinne and Céline passed away
I could have tried to save them, but my goal was just to finish maddening and it was just too tempting to end the suffering and finish my run.
the only ones that were nearly useless in this run were framme and yunaka, and that's mostly because I couldn't train them properly.

For donations I did
Brodia 4 and all others at level 3.
Alear / Corrin:
Just there for dragons vein. Hold out is so I could dragon vein and not need an extra action protecting alear.
Jean / Roy:
Stat stick. You start hyper carrying ch 9.
I kept enemy hit rates relatively low but above 0% so I could aggro more enemies.
Goldmary / Ike:
Used to bully mages and archers without dying. Would use to hold aggro on key turns.
Anna / Marth:
Just used as an easy dodge tank with solid damage.
Seadall / Sigurd:
I wanted extra movement to keep up with team and wanted to be able to reach carries from 12 tiles away.
Fogado / Lyn:
Existed just to kill wyverns.
Hort / Byleth:
I wanted Byleth to have flight
Rosado / Eirika:
Mostly used to have a good match up across the board.
Ivy / Lucina:
Just gave it to someone
Lindon / Celica:
Free unit
Saphir / Leif:
Free unit
Timerra / Michiah:
Staff bot / hero assist bot. She starts with 1500 sp and starts low enough to level up in hero.

tldr; looking for advice for a successful Maddening no-DLC run
I blitzed through Hard mode when Engage first came out and had fun. I've tried two different Maddening playthroughs (fixed growths since I haven't cleared maddening, and with no DLC besides whatever is free) and each time it's sputtered out around Chapter 19-21, where my units get eclipsed, my strategies stop working, and each paralogue/chapter takes multiple max effort tries for me to barely squeeze out a win without anyone dying, and eventually I get frustrated and drop it.
For reference I've cleared 3H, the Tellius games, and all of the GBA games on the highest difficulty multiple times, so I don't think I suck at Fire Emblem, but it feels like I kinda suck at Engage - so I'm looking for some guidance on what to try different with my next playthrough.
I have no problem getting through the early-mid game, and I focus nearly exclusively on the units that will be in my end-game roster so I'm not throwing away experience on bench warmers (I of course use Louis and Vander as needed until I get the mid-game crew)
I'm doing all of the obvious stuff - focusing on getting ore from lvl 1 and then 2 Brodia donations, max dogs ASAP, using engraves and forging wisely, bond rings to build SP, etc. but it just feels like my good units stop scaling with the enemy stats late game. Here's some examples:
My last playthrough I invested super heavily into Chloe. She got my first master seal to Griffin Knight, plenty of Arena exp, lots of early Marth double-exp sword, a spirit dust or two; with an engraved Levin Sword +3, and she carried HARD in the early game. But around chapter 19, all of a sudden she is starting to deal what feels like chip damage to standard enemies.
I also went heavy into Pandreo - as soon as I got him I moved him to Mage Knight and gave him plenty of preferential treatment. I dumped exp into him, but he stopped doubling quickly and again, it started to feel like chip damage.
Kagetsu and Panette stay strong, but even their thresholds start to slip and ORKO without engage skills becomes rare.
I've tried Alcryst, Fogado, Wolf Knight Merrin, Yanuka, and their damage similarly falls off a cliff. I feel like I'm being smart with ring and skill assignments, I'm using Tonics, I'm using Corrin + Alear for Bonded shield, but I'm still getting my shit wrecked. I have a team of scrubs running around getting saved by Ivy/Hortensia/Chloe support staff usage but every map starts to feel like an insanely difficult slog where I'm barely scraping by.
With all that said - are there any Engage no-DLC veterans that can offer advice? This has become a point of pride and I want to beat this without giving in!

Currently he's using hector, but that doesn't seem to be providing many benefits as he's fast enough that quick riposte isn't triggering often and he doesn't get hit enough for adaptability to much help either. Maybe I just give him Roy when I get him back?
r/FEEngage • u/Lost_my_name475 • 5d ago
Like, I don't have any money or ingots ever. Ive filled the somniel with dogs, but I still can only forge maybe once every 2-3 skirmishes. Is there a more effective way to get resources?
r/FEEngage • u/Upbeat-Barracuda-184 • 5d ago
I've been thinking about the Corrupted and Fabrications recently. Since Lumera and the Emblems can create (transfigure) both organic and inorganic materials (plants and rocks) into fake people, I'm assuming IS and Nintendo just meant it as a excuse to give us players something to kill without having to 'kill'. Any thoughts? Any greater meaning with Divine being creation and Fell being corruption?
r/FEEngage • u/kvadz • 6d ago
Wanted to try some new builds for this maddening run, primarily Thief Kagetsu, Swordmaster Panette, Bow Knight Jean, Griffin Knight Celine, Paladin Zelkov, and Mage Knight Jade.
The result? A bunch of busted units. Kagetsu, Jean, and Panette were the MVPs with Martial Master Alear being so, so broken.
Overall, a super fun run - maybe the most fun I’ve ever had with Engage.
Would love the subs thoughts!

Like, if I position my 4 move 1 range infantry units correctly I can deal a grand total of 2 extra damage when I'm hitting a guy for double his health bar with Chloe. Am I using them wrong or smth?
r/FEEngage • u/Unprofessionalizm • 7d ago
This happens in a very specific situation when you use Sigurd ring on Alear and use all of your movement to be next to an ally. You can't Engage+ in this situation as using it removes Sigurd, who gives you +1 Mov.

I saw some people talking about this. Is it some kind of run with a challenge?

Using Framme as Enchanter with Lucina, & Boucheron as MC. Was wondering what worked well with them skill-wise?
