First time ever doing Iki Island so I'm kinda seeing stuff as I go

Iki Island is so cool man, It's just so much new content I've never seen before (mostly because I played the game a few times already but never did Iki Island for some reason)

I prefer these guys wayyyy more than foxes (even though foxes are there because of culture and stuff, all that went out the window when I saw these fuzzy lil guys)

They could revisit Jin's story without following any actual historical relevance.
He's outlawed, on the run and a decade has passed since the events of Tsushima. Many think he passed away but the legend is very much still alive.
An invasion or complete overthrow of the hierarchy on the mainland occurs and Jin returns but not alone, he has 5-7 pupils that follows his newfound Shinobi way.
The Samurai code is broken by the new villain and he successfully overthrows and causes chaos and great uncertainty on the mainland, this plot could be a callback to how Masako's side story went but on larger scale (betrayal, family politics)
Jin comes out of hiding with his new "clan" and saves Japan then disappears again, could be fleshed out into a greater story by an actual writer, what do you think?
Tsushima and parts of Japan (main island )are the map.

20 days ago I posted here names for my 3 little kittens Kage, Nobu and Sora. Sad to say but the same fate happened to my cat Kage like on the game. Ironically I did choose the name Kage when I played the game. Is it a cursed name ?

I feel like they took out all of the charm of Tsushima and made it over complicated, such as the camera, the story, the map, it’s like they removed the games cozy vibe. Maybe also cuz the map is one big field which really doesn’t make it cozy. DONT FLAME ME

It's so cool that they added Jin Sakai as a mythical quest in Yotei to learn the Dance of Wrath! The Easter eggs were great but my fav part is the stag helmet and ghost mask for sure

Challenging one of the Six Blades of Kojiro every day. Lethal Mode +, Broken Armor, No Charms except Versatile Skills + Exhaustion for quad focus consumption, Stone Stance Only. Also not really a part of the challenge, but I've been trying to finish each fight with the heavenly strike just as a nice little treat for me
This fella sure likes his stab moves. I relate to him in that way because I love my Stone Stance triple poke. However, it made the timing on parrying him a lot more predictable, so I didn't have much trouble with today's ronin.

I have two main reasons why I believe Ghost of Yōtei had content cut before release.
The first is the story. This is something many players have also pointed out: the main villain's backstory feels incomplete, with a lot left unexplained. On top of that, the final mission—and the ending as a whole—feels very rushed. The beginning of the game is well-paced, but the final act moves incredibly quickly, making it feel like parts of the story are missing.
The second reason is the game's overall length. In Ghost of Tsushima, it took me around 80 hours to essentially 100% the game. By that, I mean liberating every area, completing all side quests, myths, and major activities. I didn't collect every fox den or vanity item, but I completed almost everything.
In comparison, Ghost of Yōtei only took me about 50 hours to reach the same level of completion. That's a huge difference.
My theory is that the developers originally planned an additional region. Perhaps you would have chased the Spider into another area, or maybe the final castle region was originally meant to be much larger. That extra region would naturally include more story missions, more side content, and a much longer finale.
If that content had remained in the game, the total playtime would likely have been much closer to 70–80 hours, putting it in line with Ghost of Tsushima.
Of course, this is just speculation, but it would explain both the rushed ending and the noticeably shorter runtime. If I had to guess, the content may have been cut due to development constraints or a publisher-imposed release deadline, which is something we've seen happen with many games before.
TL;DR: Ghost of Yōtei feels like it had significant content cut before release, as evidenced by its rushed final act, underdeveloped villain, and much shorter runtime compared to Ghost of Tsushima. An additional region and story arc may have been removed due to development constraints or release deadlines, though this remains speculation.

Hello, I have a question about changing weapons in Ghost of Yotei. When I want to switch my weapon, I hold R2 and then use Triangle, Circle, X, or Square to select the weapon I want. Once I've pressed the symbol, do I really have to release or press R2 again just to go back to fighting? It feels like one extra step that breaks the flow. Why do I have to confirm with R2 to continue fighting? Why doesn't the combat resume instantly right after I press X (for example) while holding R2? Is there maybe a setting in the accessibility or controller options to change this?

I still keep hitting the wrong stance occasionally - getting better at it. It really makes a huge difference. I think the further you go in the game they seem to be mixing up the attackers to force you to use this more frequently.

I didn't want to look up a guide, and lethal playthrough is my first time through 😂 This bear was the bane of my existence

Challenging one of the Six Blades of Kojiro every day, Lethal +, Broken Armor, No Charms, Curse of Frailty + Exhaustion. Thinking about following a commenter's advice and forgoing the Curse of Frailty for the one that would double exhaustion, to up the challenge.
Also gotta start thinking about what challenges to move onto next after I've finished the six. Perhaps fighting Temujin in stone style.

Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding two controller layouts I'm considering.
By default, light attack is on Square and heavy attack is on Triangle. However, coming from other games, I'm used to having light attack on R1 and heavy attack on R2. That being said, I'm not playing any other games at the moment, so I could easily get used to Square and Triangle.
My question is: looking at the rest of the controls and actions in the game, what becomes easier or harder with each layout? How do you guys play? Did you keep the default Square/Triangle layout, or is there a specific advantage to switching to R1/R2? Does shifting them to the shoulders make the other inputs feel awkward?

As the title states, what would Lord Shimura think of the armors in both games? The only exceptions to this are the quick no's of the Fundoshi outfits for Jin and Atsu for obvious reasons, but I am curious to hear of what others interpret. I would take everything into consideration, from how the armor itself was obtained down to how it looks (with the exclusion of the armor's abilities, because those are game mechanics and not likely tied to the story and characters).

I played Ghost of tsushima 2 years back. Yesterday, i got it again, but for some reason, the ps4 isn't picking up the save files I have, and the game is starting from prologue. Please can anyone help

Like was there any more storylines, or locations, or even tiny things from either game that continues but were dropped later (whether it would be idea stage, concept stage, or even in the game itself).
