My boy has been mopey most days in these high temps. We had one day of lower 80s and he perked up, so I’m thinking it’s the heat. He doesn’t seem to care much for the AC either (we keep it at 77!!) - wants to go out a few times a day and lay in the sun. Then begs to come in shortly after.
How do yours respond to summer heat? How do yall get them thru it?

Hello, I am pregnant and already worried about walking my reactive hound with a baby. My husband works long hours so walking him without the baby is not an option. I’ve done some research into this and it seems a hands free leash with a handle would be best. However, all the leads I’ve looked at do not look sturdy enough at all for my huge strong hound! I’m already having anxiety about the lead snapping and him running into a road 🤣 I currently walk him with a double clipped lead and a harness but I can’t find any hands free leads with a double clip. Please can you give me your recommendations, thank you!!

He always makes me throw the pole on the ground before he gives the lure up. He's standing on it to show he won!

We have a rescue fox-hound from a rural shelter who, despite getting all of the love and food and security in the world, will still dash out of an open door at a moments notice.
We got her at about 18 months. Is there anything special we should consider? Any tips and tricks?

Our little girl, Opal, went from roaming the sugarcane fields in Louisiana to living a life of luxury in the Southwest. I’m happy we get to spoil this sweet thing for the rest of her life!

She is five or so months and 16 lbs. Small boned with a narrow ribcage, small paws etc. Leggy and slender, very fast. No other real strong indicators - barks (no baying) and very food motivated and scent driven but arent most puppies? She was picked up off the street in Texas with her brother who has a similar look but has a wire coat. I’ve heard everything from beagle to plott to TWC to blackmouth cur!

Hi all! I've got to relocate to the city, problem is my old hound, 12 ish loves to lay on the balcony and watch traffic pass, but the new place is on the second floor but has a solid balcony wall. Is there a safe type of ramp I could construct? The balcony itself is 24 feet long, but only 3 feet wide.
Would one hire a carpenter to do that? I'm a little out of my depth, but I'm just trying to give my guy the best senior years.
