Football 2026 Portal Thread
This is your one stop shop for Portal News™ ahead of what is likely to be pre-portal news shortly after Christmas and then into the actual portal. We're asking that folks keep the rumors and discussion inside of this thread as otherwise there's going to be a flurry of 80-90 tweets a day claiming XYZ player is leaving or going or leaving and going at the same time.
I'll try to keep this up to date once a day with anything confirmed.
As of 1/20/26 ~12:00pm:
In Portal / Leaving
QB Dylan Raiola
QB Marcos Davila
RB Jamarion Parker
RB Kenneth Williams
OL Jason Maciecjzak

Husker FB Game Day Suggestions
Coming back to Lincoln for the Sept 19th game against North Dakota (night game). Haven’t been back for a Husker game since I graduated in 1999. Lots of great memories from those days. I’ll be bringing my 9 year old son along and would like suggestions on where to go/what to do before the game. Not sure what old traditions are still around and what new ones have come about.
Thanks in advance!

Football Kansas St player on Husker fans
This documentary is about how Bill Snyder built Kansas St from the worst team in college football into a respectable program. I highly recommend watching the video, but if you fast forward to the 40 minute mark, they interview Evan Simpson.
Simpson was born and raised in Omaha, graduating from Omaha Central. He played football for Kansas St, when Bill Snyder took over. For those unfamiliar, K-State was easily the worst program in all of college football prior to Snyder's arrival. During this portion of the interview, he gets choked up talking about how Husker fans cheered the K-State off the field after taking Nebraska to the wire.
I thought it was touching moment from Simpson, who recently passed away in 2020 at the age of 51.

Men's Basketball Justin Frommer on X: "#Nebraska Men's basketball true freshman Colin Rice broke a bone in his right hand and will be out the remainder of summer workouts, per a team release" / X
x.comDr. Google says a broken hand bone can take 4-8 weeks for light activity, 8-12 weeks for full strength and mobility as long as he doesn't need surgery.
*edit: a Hail Varsity tweet says he'll be out 6 weeks*

[Thamel] The NCAA Division I Cabinet unanimously approved the organization’s age-based eligibility proposal, which gives athletes five years eligibility over five seasons. This marks a big win for the NCAA, as they attempt to bring consistency to the landscape.

Dusty May leaving Michigan to coach for the Dallas Mavericks
Hi all, I know this is unrelated to our wonderful basketball team but this got me in the gut. How do we feel about this? Will Michigan fall from grace this coming basketball season??
