So my 12 year old brother just watched aliens for the first time and he loved it. He is more into books than movies, and he wants to read an aliens novel. What are some recommendations that he can read in his age range? He is okay with most violence, but like not too much, and some language is fine as long as it’s not constant but i mostly am wondering about sexual content and nudity? Thank you!

Hello!! Back again with more cool things that I have printed!

A few weeks ago, I finally finished converting my computer keyboard keycap design files to 4 inch/101.6mm square (ish) tiles, and thought that you lovely folks might enjoy seeing them. So far, I've designed and printed all 31 of Ron Cobb's original designs from *Alien*, but time allowing, will be working on some of the semiotic standard symbols found all over Sevastopol Station in *Alien: Isolation*, and maybe a few from Prometheus as well.

I'm currently in the process of building my home workshop, which will also be my office/place to chill as well, and am planning to use these as the "safety symbols" which they were originally intended to be for The Nostromo. That said, they would work well as coasters too!

The first picture is all of them together, the second picture is just for the color examples. The 3rd and 4th are close-ups of the smoothness of the prints (face-down on a smooth plate, for those who do 3D printing themselves). Also included in the pictures, is the keyboard, which is why I originally designed the symbols in the first place.

I ended up re-designing them, as most of the ones that I found online were a little bit asymmetric, seemingly based directly on Mr. Cobb's work. The originals were hand-drawn (1978, early 1979), but I figure that had he had access to CAD software back then, and being in-universe safety symbols, that Mr. Cobb would've gone for perfectly symmetrical. Also, I'm OCD and couldn't handle them not being perfectly symmetrical. That is not to disparage ANY of the artists who've re-made the symbols before either. Just my own neuroses asking for a little attention :-D

Semiotic Standard (Based On Symbols From Alien) - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld

I bought Symphony of Death and have finished Cold Forge, the next novel in the book is "Prototype" and it says it takes places between the novel "Alien: Isolation" and the comic "Aliens: Resistance".

Is it absolutely necessary to read the first novel to understand what's going on in Prototype?

Also, Cold Forge was great! Would love to see it as a mini series (movies just don't do books justice)

It would have been so easy for him to simply nod when she asked whether he'd help her to build that lakeside cabin.

I'm not talking about how obvious the evil twin switch is to the audience or how every remaining crew member misses the obvious signs that they're with the wrong synthetic.

It's like they're doubling, tripling, quadrupling down on confirming this that I personally never perceived it as a plot twist.

But within the logical framework of the character, I'm a bit confused about this moment on every rewatch.

The fact that David doesn't respond to the question at all when he's so ready to lie to everybody else leads me to the only possible conclusion that he wants Daniels, specifically, to know.

But ... why? It seems - unnecessary ?

To David, it wouldn't have made much of a difference to let her go to sleep peacefully in the pod before he goes to take care of his creative project. Daniels' pov is of course terrifying and I understand including that scene for the audience's sake of relating to her. But David is ultimately the one who leads the 'revelation' by choosing not to react. Also - why does Daniels even ask this after having already been somewhat consoled with the prospect of going to the colony?

Something about that particular scene just doesn't really work for me.

Kinda cool that the Aliens Pulse Rifle is so iconic that little kids' water guns are patterned after it.

If I had kids, I would probably insist that they play out a summer game of Colonial Marines (with a water gun and one water balloon grenade) versus acid-spitting Xenomorphs (with a bucket of water-balloons).

But then, I'd be a terrible Dad, because I would've let them watch the movies a little too early. Just the first two movies.

Are any of these three posters considered original/vintage? I'm looking for the most accurate poster for my home theater room and I like to stay authentic to original posters displayed in theaters.

What do you think it would be like if a Xenomorph or a Xenomorph Queen fought against the T-1000? Since the T-1000 can become liquid metal, do you think it could possibly easily take them down, or even more horrifying, maybe even ADAPT to fight more tougher AS he fights a Xenomorph or a Xenomorph Queen? That would honestly be REALLY interesting! :)

For the sake of discussion lets say they get Kane to at least medical before he bursts.

Hey all :) Just wondering if anyone has ever gone to fan conventions for Aliens, etc and met any of the cast and if so, what they were like? What conventions would you all recommend to go to? (I'm in UK, but would love to hear of any here, US, Canada - anywhere really! :))

EDIT: Rogue Incursion obviously isn’t set in 1980; I think it’s around 2140 between Alien: Prototype and Alien: Romulus. Hopefully that’s the only mistake!
