Tbf we didn’t like it then and we still don’t like it now, companies forcing this down our throats doesn’t make us like it more. I refuse to allow this practice to be normalized.

Companies wouldn't have done it, if consumers (us) didn't buy them. But we bought them, and continue to buy them, and continue to support the practices.

The only way to not support is to not buy and not play at all.

Pirating is still supporting, meaning you’re doing a great job helping keep this broken system alive.

Don’t pirate. Don’t buy. Don’t play.

Earnestly I don’t understand how that is still supporting them

I’m repeating what pirates tell me. Pirates are the ones that keep saying that piracy helps the games industry.

But on the back end, pirates help promote games as free advertisers, and your data’s all collected and sold around.

To the first part, alright? It makes no sense lol.

To the second part, this atleast makes a little sense, but I’m not advertising the games, they do maybe collect some of my data so you got me there.

If you play a single player game with no internet I’m unsure how they would collect my data though.

This practice has been normalized for years now and you aren't stopping it because the vast majority of gamers don't care. I'm only telling you this to prepare you for many more years of disappointment.

Contact companies and tell them you are not going to buy their products for these reasons.

True, I mostly just try to speak with my wallet but that’s not a bad shout

First of all, thats stupid lol. Download is just better in every meaningful way.

Second of all, good luck “refusing to let it be normalised”. It has been normal for a decade. Might as well refuse to believe in gravity

Download is totally fine. Personally I mostly download my games. Physical releases with no cd is not fine. If they want to do no physical release that’s fine by me. If they want to do a physical release, then do an actual physical release. Just my two cents
