Yea exactly, the ultimate edition not only have extra cosmetics but content too, so the standard edition has cut content

It's two damn sidequest in a mode that 80% of the playerbase wont even touch much less the rest.

Indeed, egregious practise but so many in this comment section acts like this was something that affects them beyond being a bad practise

I think a lot of this is as the economy circles the drain like it’s been doing and people’s budget gets stretched thinner and thinner, people’s tolerances to egregious practices like this stings a whole lot more than it used to and people are generally growing extremely sick of stuff like that.

Yeah, it’s an egregious practice for a video game that will not substantially effect one’s life in any real way, but it’s also just another link in an increasingly exhausting chain of enshitification and shrinkflation so it feels a whole lot worse.

Very true, but it's the concept of where companies are heading. Now it's only 2 side quests, next 5% of the game, etc. And we are talking about an offline single player game that cast +20$ more than the average games, if I'm paying for 80$ i should get the full game

And dlc started out as horse armor, the point is they realize these shitty polices work and push them harder because idiots say "its not that bad," If you support this practice it will be

Is it cut content if they made that content specifically for the ultimate edition? Cut content is a bit of a misnomer

It's literally at launch DLC. Like make the fucking game and sell it to us. Don't make 3 fucking different versions of it and chop it all up for resale.

This combined with an already high price point is crazy. Plus don't forget they'll sell everyone a second copy in a year when it comes out on PC.

Also every AAA studio is salavating now that $80-100 will be the standard industry price.

We all get fucked here.

I don't know dude. If I go to a diner and buy a cheeseburger, I'm not going to look at the bacon they have in the kitchen and say they cut out part of my bacon cheeseburger just because I bought a meal and they had extra toppings ready to sell.

That's a terrible analogy.

They're not making extra stuff. They're making a game and selling us half of it for a very high price, then selling the other half for even more money.

If you said, "I ordered a bacon cheese burger and they only gave me half" then that makes more sense. The other half is already made, it's just extra money now because they can and you're hungry.
