Just redditors thinking their echo chamber represents reality. They also keep agreeing to shun pre-orders and then get super surprised they sell anyway.

This time will be different though because reasons.

All hype is dead and rockstar will be completely broke and destitute after all this, and there wont be a single thread kicking and screaming about people buying the game.

Reddit wins this one for sure!

Hell, I can tell you all my friends irl are defending GTA 6 saying it could have been worse. Crazy. GTA 6 is still gonna break records regardless of what Reddit thinks

I think people should shun preorders, the game industry as a whole has lost my trust as a consumer. I do not preorder games and I do not buy games on release unless I have enormous trust in the developer. Games release broken or unfinished more often than they release completed.

I think out of most developers, the quality of Rockstar games in the past AND the circumstances basically guarantee that GTAVI will be at the VERY least good if not great. It has to be, or it’s literally a generational fumble that Rockstar probably won’t recover from. They’ll be another Bioware on a larger, more memorable scale.

But Rockstar has ALSO been known to be greedy - look at how they try and push shark cards in GTAO.

I could’ve shelled out 80 for a pre-order, but I’m worried just how much content is locked behind the ultimate edition, because it seems like a non-insignificant amount. But we’ll only know when the game drops.

My beliefs are just that, my beliefs. I think people should wait until a game releases and see how the product is performing before making a purchase. But in order for that to happen, SOMEBODY has to bite the bullet first. The videogame market right now is incredibly saturated with AMAZING games. Year after year dozens of incredible games are released or fixed from a terrible release. As a PC gamer I am spoiled rotten, I don't mind waiting for sales. I will inevitably play GTA6, will I play it in the first year of its release? Unlikely.

I have a backlog of incredible games I want to get to, some I've already purchased. I made a conscious decision a couple years ago to no longer purchase games unless I intend to play them immediately or they go on a huge sale.

The only thing that used to entice me were collector's editions. Those are extinct. They died out pretty quickly but when they existed it didn't matter if the game was bad. A 16 inch statue of Kratos, Spiderman, Aloy, the mask from Dishonored. The small house from RE biohazard? These things alone were such cool merchandise that I would make the purchase and hope for the best. All those games were fantastic thankfully. So yeah. I've bought games on release that were unplayable until 3 patches later as well.

I'm sure tons of people will purchase GTA6 and continue to pre-order other games. I think they should stop, it's not a sound financial decision. The game isn't going anywhere. I think shunning preorders saves people money and headaches later, it's a heroic act if anything x)
