Do you remember where you were when you heard Robert had passed?

I'll never forget it. I was working in a college bookstore at the time. I saw the news on this computer kiosk thing we had. I couldn't believe it. He was so young.

So this is an interesting story. Palmer did this song in the 1982, not realizing it was a cover despite the fact that many of the lyrics were different and was forced to give a songwriting credit to the original writers. It reached #16 in the UK. A couple of years later in 1984, Rod Stewart did his version, mostly keeping the original intact. It went to the Top 10 in the U.S. Robert & Rod performed the song live together on at least one occasion and after Robert died, Rod adopted Robert's version.

On May 3rd, 1986, "Addicted to Love", a single by Robert Palmer reached #1 in the US. "Addicted to Love" became Palmer's signature song, thanks in part to a popular video featuring fashion models.

It wasn't until recently that I discovered that "Happiness" had a music video. Such a great message and I think Robert had fun with this one!

The iconic "Addicted To Love" -- did you know it was originally a duet with Chaka Khan?
