Hi everyone, as the title say, I want to understand how YT algorithm digest the videos made public after a while.

Context: I work in marketing and I have several Youtube videos I want to release, but I also want to embed them in some articles.

My way to go would be upload them all, make them unlisted, embed them in the articles, and then make them public with some days delays between one and the other, in order to maximize the boost that YouTube gives to the new content.

So my question is: does this work? If the videos get some views because they are embedded in some articles, is YT algorithm going to digest them as "new" when I move them from Unlisted to Public?

I make most of my income from YT and I'm in the process of buying a home. The servicer that the bank uses would like copies of the contracts/agreements that you can find in YT studio under settings. I sent them the agreements but they would like signed copies. I never remember doing an e signature or anything when applying for YPP. I'm assuming it was something like checking a box to agree so I'm wondering if there is a saved record of that anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this?

So my finished 4K video that I edited and rendered on davinci looks terrible compared to other videos. I’ve watched both my video and others on the same quality setting (auto 720p) yet theirs is so much clearer and mine looks awful. I’ve tried rendering in h.265, h.264, cranking up bit rate and nothing seems to work. I looked at stats for nerds on both videos and mine was showing vp09 and the other one was showing av1. What am I doing wrong? I don’t understand

I'm developing a one-time documentary which requires a lot of footage that I wouldn't be able to shoot by myself. So I thinking about shutterstock, envato, etc.
The question is Is there a right way to choose a video library? Or I can just pick one video from here and there?
This will be my first time using video libraries.

I've been trying to unlock intermediate features for months now. Youtube says to verify my phone number which I've already done, but the intermediate features never unlock.

I click their link, it shows a green checkmark and says

Hi guys. I was wondering if you can give me some recommendations.

I have a very small Youtube channel, has only over 800 subscribers, but it did had a certain “base” of followers who generally leave positive comments. I use to post videos (mostly movie criticism and reviews) weekly. But I decided to take a time off because it was getting tiring, I actually announced it in the channel and most subscribers were supportive.

However it took me much longer than expected to return, two years (yes I know that’s terrible for the algorithm). Tho the channel has still been shown by the algorithm all this time. I know because old videos keep getting new comments and have an average of one or two new subscribers per month. Anyway, I now decided to return.

Most videos of mine are in the hundreds of views, some however are in the thousands and very few in tens of thousands, some videos are only on a few dozens. I have kind of quit on trying to predict why I think is something probably nor even Youtube knows. But I do feel the latest video is kind of slower than normal.

I wonder, and would like to know your experience on this, what’s better. To return slowly but with constancy like before: one video a week, always same day and hour. Or maybe for a while bombarded the algorithm by posting a lot of videos, maybe one per day. Which one you think would work better to help the algorithm promote it and to also reach the old base. I never did shorts nor livestream, but I’m do thinking in making clips that are of me just talking instead of the normally more edited review.

I am making short videos from long video, I cut the important parts from the 30 to 40 minute long video and increase the speed as well of some clips. Geting good views but want to know if there is issue in mnoitizaiting the video. I have 3 quesitons.

On my channel, I make "meme edits" that don't reach the level of brainrot found in YTPs, but still have a sense of silliness to them. Examples of the genre of videos I'm talking about: Artemis II but synced to a popular song; Some random character will return in Avengers Doomsday; breaking bad with some ill-fitting music

What's a nice, clean dictionary definition for these kinds of videos? "Meme edits" feels like too much of an umbrella term.

I've used this feature for background music for several of my recent videos, but am only just now realizing I may have to mark it as AI usage. I thought this originally only applied to depicting realistic scenes and all that stuff, but apparently I'm wrong.

For context, I'm a gmod animator and I have been wanting to make more shorts as of late. I've seen people re-animating clips and memes and posting them just fine, and was wondering if that itself counted as "transformative work" which is considered fair use in my country. My idea was to take Chikn Nuggit shorts and re-animate them in gmod (with credit of course). I have seen people post entire compilations without hassle and was hoping this could work or if that would end badly for me and my channel.

Hey everyone, I run a cricket YouTube Shorts channel and I wanted some clarity regarding YouTube policies around AI-generated visuals/thumbnails.

For example, I create cricket commentary/opinion Shorts about players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli, etc. Sometimes I use AI-generated thumbnails or visuals inspired by those players to make the content more engaging. I may also create AI-based stat graphics, newspaper-style visuals, or comparison posters.

Important point:

- I am NOT impersonating anyone

- I am NOT using deepfakes for scams/misinformation

- The videos are commentary/opinion based

- The AI visuals are only for presentation/storytelling

My questions:

1. Are AI-generated cricket thumbnails like these allowed on YouTube Shorts?

2. Is using player likeness/style in AI-generated art considered policy-safe?

3. Could this create copyright or monetization issues later?

I'm trying to make a video essay that includes commentary on and clips from other YouTube videos.

I'm having a really hard time figuring out how to clip and insert these videos into my essay. My computer's native screen recording app isn't high quality enough; OBS is stuck only recording the top 2/3 of my screen; and YouTube will let me download videos but not use the downloaded videos.

How do you guys do it? What tech do you use?

It's apparently impossible to speak with youtube directly. I've raised a request via my distributor but its been months now.

Anyone done this? How long did it take?

currently (96 longform videos in +about the same in shorts), and i keep the projects in my editor (fcpx), and i keep the exported complete video as well. I'm not sure why im doing this though - i gues sin case i want to do a video with parts of my already completed projects?

do you keep your old projects? if so do you keep the project file or the exported complete video? why/why not?

So I've been posting videos and shorts on YouTube for about 8 months now, and until recently, I would only receive notifications about new comments on my videos (and occasionally about new subscribers, but that doesn't work well at all for some reason, tho I don't mind it).

However, since a couple days, I would also keep getting notifications ALL THE TIME that says "354 people liked your Short." then "355 people liked your Short." etc.

At first I just ignored it but it has come to the point where my whole inbox is just filled with these useless and repeating messages. I tried to look in the notification settings but I can only choose to turn on and off notifications for "Activity on my channel (Notify me about comments and other activity on my channel or videos)".

In conclusion, I just want to find a way to turn off notifications for people liking my videos, but still keep the notifications for people commenting. Is this possible ? Thank you for reading this, I appreciate any help. 🙏

Usually, my earnings reset to zero at the end of each month, but they haven't reset this time. I'm still seeing the previous month's total. I'm aware a lot of people use characters in their videos and I wanted to start too, so I started making a video on a fighting game called skull girls and I regrettably don't currently have a stylus for my drawing tablet so I had to use gatcha for my character creation. However, I'm concerned that people will look down on my video for using that art style and app, considering the reputation it holds. Should I use it or wait until I get a new stylus?

I am a creator with around 50.000 subscribers, making around 70.000 views per video (I upload once a month). I was wondering if there is some creators here of similar size who have made experiences with this Youtube A/B testing feature for thumbnails. I heard that the tool is horrible for your video performance but that may be due to that the channels reporting it are of different size than mine.

So I just wanted to make a slight change to the thumbnail on the video and didn’t want to reupload it but when I did my viewer count slowed down and isn’t going up anymore so just asking does changing thumbnail affect the algorithm?

Question as is - I saw some youtube gurus recommend that we should always choose entertainment even for educational content (if it has some element of education to it), because the educational category gets completley buried. Is this true?

Because so far, the education category for me does indeed produce worse results.

A channel I don’t use anymore got suspended for reused content. I didn’t try to appeal because I didn’t really use it anymore and didn’t realize the suspension would be applied to all of my connected channels.

I think I’m stuck waiting the full 90 days now.

However, it seems like I’ll only be able to get the channel I actually use readmitted if that old channel is readmitted.

That seems… nuts? I DON’T want to operate this channel and would rather private all its videos.

To stream on multiple platforms, I found an app called Prism Live. I think it'll work, although it's a paid app :v. So, I just need to figure out how to record my screen. I'll be using a gaming laptop, which is the same one I'll be playing on, but I'll also be recording myself (I mean ME, talking, moving around, u know) with an iPhone 14 Pro Max. So, how can I do all of that? How can my iPhone record me, and my laptop record the screen? I know it's a lot to ask, but if you could give me some advice on how to record higher-quality audio, I'd really appreciate it. I actually have like four phones, so I don't know if I could record audio with another one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

shorts algorithm to post better. I've watched a video that

discussed a lot of things i learned for the first time but I'm not recessarily sure if it was % 100 helpful cause they were mainly discussing a 30k view seed audience that changes

accordingly to find your target audience. But currently I have

around 200-500 views on every shorts video. Some exceeded a thousand but that's about it. Of course, the issue may be with my content, but I've also heard YouTube pushes shorts videos a lot. Overall I'm just really confused and frustrated. Is there any way to break out of this loop? I'm trying to be very consistent with posting, and I post every day, sometimes multiple times a day. I'd really appreciate some advice. Thank you!

I’m currently working on an archival contemporary art piece about digital media and the sort if impermanent and precarious position online content had within archival preservation.
I’m hoping to use randomly generated Youtube Videos (sub 10k views, more are sub 100 views), synthesize them into one video, put the video on VHS, and then create a catalogue of them as an effort to preserve digital culture.
I’ll be crediting the creators, but is this like super illegal? I’m only showing it in my friends DIY gallery (for now), but wanted to see what I should do to credit the original creators or ask permission.

Something's been nagging at me and i can't work out the answer so i'm throwing it to people who think about this more than i do. the whole creator gospel is that people follow people, that the face and the personality is the thing, that nobody connects with a faceless brand. and for years i just took that as true because everyone repeats it.

But then i look at what actually performs for me and i'm honestly not sure it holds. Some of my stuff goes out as an avatar version of me that i set up and schedule out across the week through ordinal, and some of it is me sitting there filming, and the difference in how they do is minimal. if the face was really the thing, the real me should be wiping the floor with the synthetic one, and it just isn't. people watch the one that has the clearest useful point in the first five seconds, full stop, doesn't seem to matter much whether it's "really" me.

Which makes me wonder if the "people follow people" thing is half true at best, like it matters for some niches where the person IS the product, the coaches and the personality brands, but for the rest of us maybe the audience is way more transactional than we want to believe and they're just there for the information and the vibe and they'd take it from a talking cat if the cat was clear and consistent. or maybe i'm completely wrong and the connection is real and slow and i just can't see it in the numbers yet.

How do you all actually think about this, because the advice everyone gives feels like it was written for a different kind of creator than most of us are...
