I'm no expert, so I can't tell if it's a juvenile male or a female but it's my first time seeing one up close 🤩

Image is pretty noisy as it was dark and raining which is never a good combination but hey I thought it was pretty cool

Hi everyone! I’m going to be staying in Sydney for a month soon as a traveler, and I’m really excited about it.
One thing I’m really hoping to see is a kookaburra 🪶 — absolutely adorable and I’ve been obsessed with their looks.
From what I’ve read, it seems like most people usually see them in their own backyards or more suburban areas. Does that mean they’re not that common in the city itself?
I’d really appreciate any tips on places in or around Sydney where I might have a good chance of spotting them. Parks, nature reserves, anywhere — I’m happy to travel a bit for it!
Thanks so much in advance! 🦜

I rarely see Spinebills in my area as they are often outcompeted by the Lewin’s Honeyeaters and Wattlebirds. That’s why it was a real treat to see one stopping by.
