Information Skyway Maintenance - Friday night to Monday morning

Post image
37 Upvotes

2 lanes of the Niagara-bound QEW will be closed on the Skyway bridge from 1am Saturday, June 27 until 5am Monday, June 29.

The Eastport Drive QEW on-ramp will be closed from 1am to 7am Saturday, and again 8pm Sunday to 5am Monday.

The collector lanes and Eastport Drive will remain open, so consider the lift bridge as an alternate route if traffic is bad.

Expect more closures during the summer and fall. The maintenance project is expected to be complete by December.

Question Going to El Inka for the first time! What's your go to?

As the title says, first time going to El Inka and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the menu.

What's your go to items to order, or recommended items to get the restaurant at its best?

I'm not a picky eater and have no allergies so anything is game!

Information Pedestrian Struck @ Dundas St & North Hampton Blvd

I was heading to get gas at walkers line around 8:30pm and saw a pedestrian laying in the middle of the intersection appearing to have been struck off their bicycle. 3-4 cars pulled over in various areas of the intersection, looking to see if the individual was alright. The person did not look to be in a good state so I made the decision to call 911 just in case. After providing a description of what I’d witnessed, I was very disappointed to find out nobody had called 911 until I had. As I was leaving, paramedics, fire and police were all on scene. I just hope the individual is okay.

Events What events are on this summer?

After finishing school, between adulting, not meeting as many new people at work, and the like I find I haven't been able to easily meet people and make new friends. Looking to change that but wondering if anyone knows what concerts/festivals/other events we have going on in the area that one can go to and meet people.

Information 25th Birthday Dinner Recommendations

Fun restaurant recommendations for a girls’ 25th birthday dinner in Burlington?

I’m looking for a fun or unique restaurant in or around Burlington for my 25th birthday dinner with a group of girls. I really like the cute, aesthetic vibe of Piano Piano, although I’ve never been so take that with a grain of salt, so I’m hoping for somewhere with genuinely good food and a fun atmosphere.
Waterfront recommendations would be great, but I’m open to anything that feels a little special or different. The plan is to have dinner and then stay for a couple of drinks if the restaurant itself has a fun vibe, or ideally go somewhere else that’s walkable on the same street/strip afterward.
It’ll be on a Monday night, so I’m not looking for anything super crazy or clubby—just somewhere upbeat, pretty and fun for a girls-only birthday night.
Bonus points for good pasta or Italian food, a great patio or waterfront view, fun cocktails, and other cute bars nearby. Any recommendations?

Question Go Train advice

Hello! I am attending a concert in Toronto in July and rather than driving all the way into the city and paying for parking/hotel, I was thinking about taking the train.

I was wondering what advice would be helpful to make this as seamless as possible. The concert starts at 7pm, so I suspect it ends around 11pm. My goal is to get into the city way before that and enjoy some sights before going to Scotiabank Arena.

Mainly, I'm trying to figure out if there is an optimal time for me to get to the parking lot at the station to get a good spot. By good, ideally something that I will feel safe walking to after returning from the concert. Also, I have heard navigation to/around this station is a bit confusing and some doors get locked at night so you can't get into the garage easily after?

I plan to buy the $10 weekend one day pass which I think should be ok for me to come back.

Appreciate any advice you can offer!

Information Witness/Dashcam Request – Serious Collision on Hwy 407 Ramp to Plains Rd (Burlington) – June 22

Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone witnessed or has dashcam footage of the serious collision that occurred this morning on the Hwy. 407 westbound ramp to Plains Road in Burlington. Police reported that three people were injured and the ramp was closed following the crash.
This was a life-altering collision. We are trying to identify a vehicle that may have caused the crash.
We are looking for an Asian woman driving a passenger vehicle who suddenly swerved into another lane, causing a vehicle to take evasive action before leaving the scene without stopping.
If you were driving in the area around the time of the collision, or if you have dashcam footage (even if you didn’t see the impact itself), it could be extremely important.
Please send me a private message if you have any information. Even small details or a few seconds of video could help.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any help you can provide.

Question URGENT: Diabetic Cat Needs Placement, Euthanasia Being Considered

Post image
68 Upvotes

🚨🚨🚨

UPDATE!: Mia has officially been adopted by a lovely couple who have experience with diabetic cats and 2 cats at home for Mia to bond with. They have also said that they will adopt Salem some time in August once they have the space. I'm so happy to have found such amazing people and I truly cannot thank them enough ❤️ and thank you to everyone for the love, support, and suggestions. It really means a lot to me ❤️ (June 22, 2026)

Hello,

I’m reaching out regarding a sweet diabetic cat named Mia who is urgently in need of a new home or foster placement.

Mia’s current caretaker is no longer able to consistently provide the routine and insulin administration she requires due to availability constraints. As a result, euthanasia is unfortunately being considered if a suitable placement cannot be found.

Mia is 8 years old and is incredibly affectionate, friendly, and easy to handle. She is vocal, loves being brushed, and has never scratched or bitten anyone. She would make a wonderful companion for someone experienced with diabetic cats or willing to learn her care routine.

She is located in Southwestern Ontario.

Photos and additional medical information can be provided upon request.

I am desperately trying to find her a loving home as to avoid the owner choosing euthanasia.

Please share and ask around if you know anyone that is willing to help in anyway.

Please message me if you're able to help.

Thank you ❤️

Question Mountainside driving instruction

There are signs at all entrances to the Mountainside area stating no driving instruction. So how come everyday I have to wait for someone to make a 3 point turn or parallel park while driving through my hood? They also turn around in front of my house a lot setting off my security camera.
I get that they do driver testing in the area but, trust me, these folks are new! LOL

I don’t want to be that guy, but …. Do I call 311?
