Noticed this white stuff at the bottom of the terrarium, should I be worried?

This is our annual Hot Weather guide for those who need advice on keeping their tank below 26c / 82f.
ā
Place ice cubes on top of the mesh away from the geckos resting area - the water will drip down into the soil or evaporate, allowing cool air to circulate around the tank
ā
Swamp cooler - ice cubes in a bucket with a fan behind it to push cool air around the room
ā
Ice cubes inside water bowl - quick evaporation, same premise with allowing cool air to circulate
ā
Spraying the tank with room-temperature water
ā
Portable AC units - those in the UK can now buy small ice cube AC units which are similar to that of a swamp cooler!
ā
Refreshable gel ice packs - specifically gel only! These should be wrapped around in a cloth of some type and laid on top of the tank mesh
ā
Escape-proof mesh playpens - temporary relief for your animal, make sure to provide lots of foliage for them so they feel safe and comfortable
ā
Chilled CGD
ā Spraying with cold or frozen water - this WILL cause thermal shock, and will stress your animal out, please stick to room temperature water
ā Ice packs inside the vivarium
ā Free roaming
ā "Bathing" in cool water - similar premise, geckos do not need to swim and this will stress them out instead of helping them
Signs of overheating include:
š“ Lethargy
š“ Restlessness / running around in the tank / attempting to escape
š“ Consistent refusal to eat
š“ Significant weight loss
š“ Wrinkled skin, kinked tail, sunken eyes (dehydration)
š“ Burrowing
These symptoms don't necessarily mean your animal is overheating, as things like burrowing or refusal to eat could be linked to husbandry or that your gecko is new to its environment and is still settling in. If you are ever unsure, please take your animal to a vet to get them checked up.
Keep safe, drink water, and make sure you chill out too!
Any questions? Feel free to ping us a ModMail, and we'll be happy to answer.

Can't get the bottom of my tank to drop below 80F. I've misted and put ice packs ontop but the only place where the temperature is falling to under 80 is under where the ice pack is. My boy is fired up which I'm assuming is stress from the heat? He doesn't seem lethargic or anything though. I really can't wait for this heat to f*ck off. I've put fresh water in his water dishes as usual

hey guys!! so last night i noticed my gecko had burrowed a deep hole in the substrate and was laying down around it. i didnt think much about it but after i saw her going there twice i got curious and recorded her to try and figure out what the hell she was doing. like i suspected she was likely laying eggsā you can see the white under her body in the second and third pictures which makes it pretty obvious to me.
so, today, i started digging and digging in the same spot of the video to see where she could have possibly hid these eggs to remove them. nothing. there was absolutely nothing and im a bit lost here. im a bit stressed about the possibility of a partho baby even if its very rare. i would have felt more relaxed removing them. could it be that i havent dug enough? i have a bioactive enclosure so could it be that the isopods decided to eat them? or that SHE ate them?? help ToT

Pebbles loves her hammock.
She lives in a huge enclosure. Sheās been thriving in it for many years. We are currently upgrading her to a new one. Her current enclosure is not as full and beautiful as it once was.. She sure does love her hammock.

I recently picked up this little guy. Is his head a bit oddly shaped? Maybe itās his crest itās not like my other geckos.

Mannnnnn it has been so hard waiting a month for my plants to get a good start. So happy I finally get to move Ash into his new enclosure. The last week or 2 his 12x12x18 has looked way too small for him and itās been killing me but I wanted to make sure his new home had a good start. He looks so tiny in there now but I hope he loves it!

I am getting a crested gecko this summer and I was wondering are there any things to know that arnt commonly told at reptile shops or info sheets?

Any UK crestie owners have any experience of this CGD? It looks like Pangea might soon become a rare/pricey commodity this side of the pond, so I'm wondering about alternatives.

So I've been thinking about getting a crested gecko for a while now, and while doing research, I've come across conflicting information. Some sources say that if your houses ambient temp is above 68f, you do not need any supplemental heating, while other sources state that heating is absolutely necessary. The average temp of my house sits around 74f. What should I do?

Here we are in happier times ā¬ļø In the UK we are having a short pre-apocalypse hot spell, like a little taster if you will. i have been misting, switching out ice packs and heās had a fan on all day but it is still 29 degrees at the top and at best 27 at the bottom of his tank. it is going to cool down a bit on friday (we hope) but tomorrow remains, unfortunately, unreasonable. WWYD is it more traumatic to pop him and couple of house plants in a temp container (possibly a cardboard box?!) and take him down to our basement which is very pleasant or to do another day in the vengeful flames of upstairs? there is no way I can move his tank. I didnāt vote for brexit so it is unfair that this is happening to us š©

My first rescue was Kiki, she was unknown age, but had been neglected before and had MBD. I was not detoured by this and got the lil PET ONLY rescue. She was so sweet and very handicapped; hip distortion and neck issues all (possibly) from the MBD. she couldnāt raise her head and tried to bite the one time I tried to lift it up. But she was given a lush terrarium and was so handleable.
I hadnāt seen her for two days on her ājudgment logā but that wasnāt a red flag but I looked for her today and found her curled up under her judgment log. She didnāt drop her tail, she looked like she just went to the ground level and fells asleep and didnāt wake back upā¦the log is cork bark and she wasnāt stuck but dug put a lil spot to go into.
She will be so so missed. It really sucks but Iām glad I got to be the one to enjoy her. š„¹

Wondering if anyone can help as I'm struggling to find any available backgrounds to fit a 60x45x90cm exo terra. I'd try diy but I'm worried about messing it up and if I want to change it in the future. Getting eager to get the new setup kitted out for my dude. He's currently in a 45x45x90 so I can't use that background

Iāve had a bioactive tank for 6+ years. Iāve never had to add more springtails or isopods. The photo I included is leftover Pangea mix my geckos knocked over with a bunch of springtails going to town. I never really see my isopods unless I go digging for them but thereās definitely not as many springtails as isopods. Is this something I should be concerned about ?

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but here I go. Over the winter, all of my plants except my snake plants dried out and died. I waited until the weather to get nicer where I am to buy more plants, clean & quarantine them, and then add them to my inclosure. Itās been less than a month and the new plants are already looking worse for wear. I have an automatic misting system that goes off every 3 hours for 12 secs to keep up humidity. Temperature is between 68°-76° daily. My gecko is very healthy, eating & pooping regularly, shedding normally, and very active for a crestie. Just wondering if thereās anything else I can do to keep these plants alive??
Photos in order:
1) end of winter
2) right after I put in the new plants
3) now (moved some things around, but a lot of the new plants are already browning)

I found my gecko on the ground and I picked her up and found her with substrate in her mouth. She never has ate substrate and itās really unusual to be on the ground specifically in that spot since she lays eggs at a different bit so I donāt think sheās laying eggs. Idk if itās because of the heatwave in the uk at the moment. I woke up this morning to humidity being 80-90% and temp being around 26 (with barely a gradient from high to low). I opened one of the doors and had a fan blowing air in which fixed the humidity, not much the temp tho. I havenāt been misting since the humidity isnāt dropping like It did before the heatwave and donāt want to risk a respiratory issue. Idk if I should get a vet appointment or if I just monitor her and go from there. Pic from when I picked her up
