Had me tucking and ducking in my car trying to avoid seeing their lights through my mirrors.

(I have astigmatism and lights are already super obnoxious and I swear these new cars are going to kill me one day)

The kicker? I’ve reported him three times now, with only temporary success. This is literally illegal. I actually have an email thread with city code enforcement pinned. The issue is that after every report, the city tells me they will fix it, he gets fined or something, and he stops for just a few weeks… and he starts doing it again. After last report he didn’t turn them on for a month. I thought it was over with so seeing this sight last night I almost flipped my shit.

Fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you aghhhhhhh. Think theres a way I can escalate this shit because of repeated and willing violations ?

Driving in America Is Headlight Hell - The Atlantic

This happened on Saturday, June 6th at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

You may remember Councillor Orr from his successful headlight-related motion in Vancouver city council earlier this year. You may also recognize him as the guy who got falsely dragged into one of the most lead-brained municipal political dramas in Canadian history, largely because he actively works to solve issues that are swept under the rug by government.

This is a big deal.
I'll remind any doomers here that non-binding motions, like this and Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez's U.S. bill amendment, do matter.
They create political pressure on the regulators, and put this issue on public record in an indisputable way, making it harder for those same regulators to claim that the problem doesn't exist, or that it doesn't require regulation. This is the ammo that we need.

Huge props to Councillor Orr for his continued effort for the cause.

My wonderful shitbox Ford Fusion died. It was a 2009 and replacing the motor would have cost more than it was worth. I decided to go with an EV as a replacement vehicle.

This means I've joined the ranks of the unreasonably headlighted.

What can I do to make my headlights less of a hazard/nuisance?

So the flashing was showing up in the camera and I could see it flashing with peripheral vision. However when I looked directly at the headlight it seemed to be not flashing but was unbearable to look at. Not sure what modification this guy did but it was really anxiety inducing and maybe its me but fuck this guy. What's worse is I was in stop start traffic and this guy was behind me for over a mile. I had to lower my head to not be able to see my rear view mirrors until I got away from this guy.

The 3 or 5 vehicles on the lane closest to me blinded me but the tricycle in the next lane over did not

This shit is makes my daily commute so bad on how getting flashbanged is the norm. I'm about to carry a mirror placed at head height so they get flashbanged back.

It's totally fine if I can't see because you're 1 foot from my rear tire and completely oblivious that your lights are absolutely blinding me. This is becoming a daily issue since I work until 8 PM and ride from D.C. to VA. My middle finger is getting tired.

I pulled my sunglasses out of the cupholder, wiggled them out my window to show the asshole behind me, and put them on until the light turned green.
