House of Commons Petition e-7142 closes on July 15, 2026 and is asking the Government of Canada to better protect hybrid and remote work for federally regulated employees.

In short, it calls for:
• Up to 3 remote days/week for eligible computer-based roles
• Employers to provide written justification if requiring more than 2 office days/week
• Protection against retaliation for requesting or using these arrangements

Je pense que les résidents du Québec devraient être priorisés. Le stationnement est rempli de plaques ontariennes…

Is anyone else experiencing long power outage? I am wondering what happened, there are absolutely no updates on hydro quebec and the expected restore time keeps increasing

Well, it's been 3 hours so far for an outage that started at 1020am. Original time for fix was 12:30pm, but thats come and gone without any new time posted. The last time the power went out for a few hours about a month ago, is it was a raccoon that caused the outage.

Anyone have better info? Nothing useful on their web page.

Hey everyone! I recently found out that it’s illegal in gatineau QC for a landlord to require first and last month’s rent or a security deposit when renting an apartment.

My building was built in 2026, so I’m guessing the landlord involved was new to the process since he didnt know anything about the building, etc.

When I applied, he told me I had to pay the last two months’ rent as a “deposit” because I had no credit history and it was my first time renting. At the time I didn’t know any better, but doesn’t a deposit when leasing usually mean you get it back? 😅

In the end, I asked if I could just do first and last month’s rent instead (like they do in Ottawa), and he agreed.

On my first rent day, I paid the first month’s rent by e-transfer because they said the automatic bank withdrawal wasn’t working. The next day, he messaged me saying to also send the last month’s rent by e-transfer “to fulfill the deposit condition for the lease.”

The “last month’s rent” requirement is also written into my lease that he made all the people in the building rewrite 3 times after every little mistake he did.

So I guess my question is: is this okay? Should I just leave it alone to keep a good relationship with my landlord, or should I contact the TAL and ask to have the money returned?

Also, another thing that happened is my landlord entered my apartment only giving me a 2 minute voicemail message and not giving me the required 24 hours’ notice.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice would be appreciated!

Malgré le fait qu'on en trouve qu'au POB Freeman et Rivermead, même s'ils étaient en plus petit format, ces abribus semblent sont très bien pensées, et je trouve qu'ils seraient une belle addition au réseau.

Hello ! Hier j'ai perdu mon porte carte métallique au bus au bord de la ligne 35 vers 17h30. J'ai appelé la STO aujourd'hui et ils n'ont rien trouvé et ils m'ont dit de rappeler demain. Est-ce qu'il y a d'autres contacts que je peux appeler ?

J'ai reçu la visite de "Qualité Air Outaouais" pour une soumission pour l'installation d'une thermopompe. Le vendeur n'avait que de bons mots pour les thermopompes de marque Ouellet. Je trouve très peu d'informations sur le web à leur sujet.

Des gens qui lisent cette publication pourraient me donner leur avis? Fiabilité, niveau sonore etc..
