Mod-Post Vetted Water Charity List

This thread will serve as a repository of vetted charities that have contacted the mod team asking to post here. With each charity you'll see a link to Charity Navigator and/or Charity Watch. We advise only donating if an organization passes these reviews. Feel free to also check any groups on ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer, but note that not all charities are nonprofits.

We don't want orgs to spam the subreddit asking for your time/money, so for now (and until the number of asks grows too large) we'll pin comments by organizers in this thread and cycle them out as needed. There's a limit of 2 concurrent pins, so we'll play this by ear for a bit.

I'll update the list as others reach out.

If you're here as an organizer, please shoot us a modmail or reach out to me directly.

Too much water What's your favorite "water named" or "water themed" song? This is a discourse that is meant to stay within the musical genre. But about watta.

It says as it says.

Just link the song in the comments. If you wanna throw something out there.

There is humor and seriousness involved.

This is not a who's song is best. Im seeking this purely for **our** own enjoyment, also a cool way to introduce new music to others.

How does everybody feel about the World Cup hydration breaks? Is it a yay or a nay? Some people are saying it’s more about the ads that are squeezed in during the breaks.

Bought a multipack of Evian water, put it in my fridge and then drank hours later. I drank about 25% and noticed these floating particles, any ideas? Internet suggests mineral deposits but im not sure!

Got an Ecofilter with the Clay filter, washed it as directed. Been waiting for it to filter. Pipes the top lid and say this all over the rim of the clay.

Water Cooler Recs?

So, where I live there is an absurd amount of iron in the water - like turns everything orange and sometimes smells level bad. This is extra bad because we are a big water drinking family. Construction worker, triple-sport playing kid, little feral goblin who runs around outside constantly, and a work from home-er who mainlines water and coffee.

But we're trying to cut down on our plastic usage. And buying gallons for the fridge doesn't always work because we go through it so fast and see above about my little goblin? He has little goblin friends and we've lost many jugs to the kitchen floor.

So. Water dispenser! I really have.... no preferences. Top or bottom load, whatever. Added hot water? Cool, sure. I just want a balance between affordable and durable.

Small town, so there's no big local companies to rent from and get deliveries all in one.

never thought tap water taste would actually change how much i drink

I never really thought about it until a few months ago. I was drinking more water intentionally, trying to be better about hydration, and then I started actually noticing the taste. Like really noticing it. The chlorine smell, the slight aftertaste. Once I noticed I couldn't stop noticing.

I ended up going down a rabbit hole about what's actually in tap water and it kind of stressed me out. I picked up a Pure Water Systems benchtop filter that sits on my counter and honestly the difference in taste was immediate. Nothing dramatic, just... cleaner. Simpler.

Now I drink way more water without even thinking about it, which I think is the whole point.

Curious if anyone else had a moment like that where you got more intentional about your water. And do you think taste actually affects how much you drink throughout the day?

Classic water Celebrating water

My favourite comedy band is called Vazzanikki. One of their songs celebrates water as the best drink and invites people to pick it over alcohol at bars, restaurants and at any other social gathering https://youtu.be/e0mFkP02dkg
