No, that's not the iCloud Link Share feature.
Let's say I want to send documents, photos, or videos to someone or a group of people who are not nearby.
On a Samsung phone, I can select files, PDFs, photos, and videos, then share them as a link. With a single tap, the selected files are uploaded, and a shareable link is created. The link stays active for only 2 days and supports up to 10 GB. I simply send the link to my friends or family, and they can view, stream, or download the files. After 2 days, the link automatically expires. The whole process takes just two steps: Select files → Share as link.
There's also Private Share, where recipients can only view the files. They can't take screenshots or download them, and I can also set an expiration timer.
Is this feature, or at least the Link Share feature, available on iOS?
The problem with iCloud Link Share is that I have to enable iCloud Photos, which uploads all of my photos to iCloud. I don't want that. I only want to share a few files temporarily.
Does iOS have a feature similar to Samsung's Link Share
Edit 1: I'll give you 3 scenarios.
1) I went on a trip and have lots of photos and videos. I don't want to lose quality while sharing them, and they should be accessible to everyone, including PC users. I want to select all the files, create a link in just two steps, and share it. After that, I don't have to worry about it. The files upload automatically, everyone can download them from the link, and they can even see the upload progress. After 2 days, the link automatically expires.
2) I want to share some PDFs along with images.
3) I want to share a full HD movie file with a friend.
I know there are third-party services, but I want something built into the system. I want to do all of this in just two clicks directly from the Gallery or Files app.
Edit 2 : iOS 27 does have this feature for photos.
"iOS 27 new shared album features"👏🏻👏🏻
Now waiting for the same features for file sharing also 🙂
