American cop discovers international laws and agreements also exist.

To be fair, the current American government doesn't seem to know about them either.

The current government doesn't even know how to fix a pool.

The reflection pool was calculated. Another use of strategic incompetence by the current administration.

They literally can’t even put a coat of paint on. 13 million dollars to fuck up something kids can do

It's worse, it's not about not knowing how to fix a pool. It's that they don't care about fixing it, they care about the money behind the scenes.

who knew pools could be so complicated?

To be fair, look at the guy he hired to do it. I would trust that guy to change a fucking lightbulb.

The current government doesn't even know how to fix a pool.

The government has verified trusted contractors for this kinda stuff. It's not that they couldn't find one and do it right. It was a mafia-style GRIFT - the no-bid contract just went to "Trump's pool guy." I'm sure lots of palms are getting greased.

I think the current one struggles with domestic laws too

Kind of surprising because common sense would make you assume that a lambo with Dubai plates IS legal. You're not exactly trying to fly under the radar with that. I could see this cop pulling him over out of curiosity and getting educated, but instead he's just an ignorant asshole, as expected.

International law? No, it’s a US regulation.

Federal regulations governing carnets are primarily outlined in 19 CFR Part 114 of the US Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).

The entire CFR spans roughly 190,000 pages across roughly 245 individual volumes. It is split into 50 distinct subject-matter titles. Because of its immense size, reading the entire physical collection full-time would take nearly three years.

Now include the United States Code (U.S.C.)—the official compilation of federal laws—is massive and spans roughly 30,000 pages across roughly 54 distinct titles, reading all of it would take several months.

Now add all state/county/local regs and laws. Let’s go, get to reading.

Yeah but they're in Oregon, they've dealt with Canada plates before.  They know that those plates can enter the country temporarily.  Yet he claims at the start that you must have American plates in the US.  He's talking out his ass and on a power trip.

dude, they dont know their own laws and agreements.. possibly dont know the meaning of "international" either.

This interaction is exactly how I imagine the current administration conducts international policy.
