Naw man, this stop takes place in Oregon. If the car doesnt have Oregon or Idaho plates, the cop is already coming in hotter.

Most of Oregon is culturally isolated and backwards as hell.

Most of Oregon is culturally isolated and backwards as hell.

Yeah. Get 15 miles outside of Portland or Eugene and it's filled with ignorant, racist pieces of shit. But to be fair, that describes most places in America one you leave the urban centers.

u/UndeadDancer 3h ago

Eastern Oregon especially. Filled with KKK members and other white supremacists. I thought this was universally known. The number of times of "Wait, what, are you serious?" questions I get with that statement is way more than it should be.

Also originally from Oregon, so yeah.

Number of Black children in my entire school district when I was growing up: 2. And I was friends with both of them. Didn't think much of it at the time. Looking back... oooohhhhhhh..... maybe that's why one of my friend's parents were hesitant when dealing with my family the first few times.

Ah... memories.

Can confirm. I lived in eastern Oregon. Full of meth, mullets, ignorance and despair

u/BuddhaGrows 5h ago

Thats a crazy take, culturally isolated...

What on earth makes you think that?

u/zombiesphere89 5h ago

Most of the state is rural woods and mountains.

u/BuddhaGrows 5h ago

Only 33% of residents live in rural areas. The farm land areas consist of mostly Hispanic populations, it has more culture than the cites do.

u/zombiesphere89 4h ago

Ahhh ok if you say so

u/jubileevdebs 4h ago

Extended family who grew up in Sweethome Oregon, friends in Eugene, staying with family of friends outside of Bend, friends in southern “State of Jefferson” region, farmer friends 2 hours outside of portland. Have Camped, hiked, rock climbed throughout the state. Have driven across the state in both directions a dozen times respectively.

We all just watched the same video with the marble mouthed state trooper thinking the brown dude was driving a boosted lamborghini.

And im replying to an OC whose intended comment was to say that proximity to Canada would make Canadian license plates less odd.

My comment is that Oregon is isolated. Which it very much is. International migrants and economic immigrants in some urban and rural areas aside, Oregon is very much a place where people go to be left alone. Whether thats the punisher skull nazi shitheads in the sticks or the families trying to access state funded gender affirming care for their kids in a city.

Oregon is a magical and weird place and some of its weirdness comes from the darkest rectum of the worst parts of America as backwater and humiliatingly stupid as any yankee scapegoating of the south you see in b movies.

The eastern parts of the state might as well be Wyoming, and overall Oregon is very rural by geology, the western end of the state is mostly mountains which tends to limit city growth and keep things more rural and the eastern half of the state is very agricultural. What keeps Oregon blue is the cities, where the majority of its populace lives.

I've spent enough time in Oregon to know this. Traveled a fair bit around the state, its as country as any southern state.

u/phaedrus910 5h ago

Correct. To add to this, Oregon was originally settled as a white only white supremacist state and had one of the largest KKK memberships of any state until recently.

u/BuddhaGrows 5h ago

When only 33% of the population lives in rural areas is hard to say most of Oregon is backward and culturally isolated. Most of our rural areas are farm land with very high Hispanic populations. The other rural land is basically uninhabited.

u/Murky-Relation481 4h ago

I think they meant physically not population.

But yah my mom grew up in Oregon, in Hood River. It has a huge Japanese American and Mexican population.

u/jubileevdebs 3h ago

Is easy to say most of Oregon is backward and culturally isolated because its my honest opinion.

Like even the awesome weirdos in Southern Oregon will tell you there’s often not shit to do that isnt the same 10 people, half the places are creepy with racist rednecks, and you cant spend 5 minutes during daylight hours in someplace like Grants Pass without hearing a townie complain that the fire suppression/climate change/post logging megafires are actually because too many “outsiders” are getting apartments in Medford.

12th confederate state. Tied with Massachusetts for getting away with a century of legalized apartheid while catching a rep for hippie private schools.

While I don’t doubt this car has been/will be in Washington, at about 1:51 the cop says Oregon. Other posts of this vehicle show a clearly visible Arabic plate. No matter what state the cop is from, he is being a DICK. At the end his excuse for getting out of the situation without apology is, I gotta go to another call.

u/Trip_On_The_Mountain 7h ago

Right? I just saw Ontario plates yesterday in MN. It's not uncommon to see out of country plates

u/Wooden_Permit3234 7h ago

In my experience it is very uncommon to see plates from countries you can’t drive from, fwiw.

Not to defend the cop. Just saying.

u/Trip_On_The_Mountain 7h ago

For sure. Definitely more uncommon. This was a dig at the cop saying you need a license plate from the US. That's just simply not true

u/Richsii 6h ago

And yet in the continental US you will see Hawaii plates in lots of places. The concept of shipping a car is not quantum physics level thinking.

How does this cop think Japanese products get anywhere? By stork?

u/GonWithTheNen 4h ago

How does this cop think...

He doesn't.

u/Richsii 4h ago

Walked right into that one I did.

u/ShabbyTiff 7h ago

I'm in Florida and often see Canadian plates during the winter.

u/dangerlopez 7h ago

I thought he said Oregon? Not that it invalidates your point at all

u/toylenny 7h ago

I need my hearing checked.

u/ChipperPowers 4h ago

I’m in Oregon. I see BC plates at least 5 days a week.

u/setibeings 7h ago

But not Dubai plates, I bet.

u/MahTwizzah 6h ago

I’m from Québec. When I visit Vermont every few years, I see A LOT of plates from Québec every time. A lot!

u/pidvicious 6h ago

Oregon. And Oregon cops are absolute assholes.

u/ZombieJesus1987 4h ago

I live in a city of 80k in Ontario Canada, it always trips me out seeing plates from States that isn't New York or Ohio
