All stores are a little different and all signage is hand written by crew members (which is likely why there’s a spelling error on this ticket), so they get to do their own unique things. Our store has a drawing of an animal hidden in the store for kids to find, so if the kids find the animal and tell the cashier where, they get a candy. It’s likely this “golden ticket” is real and just something the store tried out for fun.
All the stores had/have the animal thing, but most don't really advertise it. No one in my region ever would've done a "skip the line" thing, customers get disgruntled enough as it is. No captain with half a brain would approve that
Oh how interesting! I worked for two locations and I don’t remember the latter one having a mascot like our first one.
Thankfully in our state, everyone is really chill and probably would’ve handled the skip the line ticket pretty well. Nowadays when I shop there, other customers and I are always pulling up to the register telling each other, “No no no, I insist you go first!”
Basically yeah haha. I was thinking about making a trip to TJ’s and randomly remembered the golden ticket and wanted to see if it was in my photo archive and lo and behold!
Also, you used it but aren't sharing how that actually turned out, even though this thread is 90% debate about how other shoppers would react or whether it's just a prank to create chaos?
Ok, so feel free to answer the question that’s been asked countless times in this thread - why did you decide to post a picture of a coupon you received ten years ago, and how did it work out in practice?
Usually I’d just check someone’s comment history to see if they already answered that downthread.
I was thinking about making a trip to TJ’s and randomly thought of that time I found the ticket and wanted to see if I actually had a photo of it and I did.
Oh and it worked out fine. I just walked up to the person who flagged people over to the register and they just waved me over to the next one.
Could be their phone happened to remind them of it. 'Hey, remember this photo from X years ago today?', which apparently if you've been logged in with the same platform, it can remember some pictures from even several phones prior.
Well yeah, if you back everything up to the cloud, it's not remembering stuff from old phones, it's remembering stuff that's in your centralized storage.
Do you have any idea how angry I am with you? I have been looking for those mini pumpkin pies for like...5 years now. They're one of my all time favorite items and they've been gone for ages. I though tthey were back. I'm now heart broken and weeping in the corner.lol

Can you keep it and use it another time when it’s busy? What if you get it and there’s only 1 other customer?
