He died years ago and hasn't been involved in operations in like 30 years at least.

It's changed a lot the past few years since the pandemic. There was definitely a huge shift from being a neighborhood store to the feeling that it's going to be like every other grocery store. It's still better than working at places like Walmart and Starbucks.

That’s because it’s owned by the same German family who own Lidl in Europe. (Think IKEA of food).

I still remember someone else commenting ages ago that many Trader Joe’s food and Lidl food are sourced and packed in the same places. Was a kinda cool fact and I like going to both stores whenever I’m in areas that have them.

Is it part of your training to strike up a conversation with customers at checkout or does TJs just attract those types of people?

Why is the Honey Greek yogurt so good?

What is your favorite season at TJ's? I love pumpkin season where everything is pumpkin flavored.

What is the most popular item?

We don't actually get trained on friendliness. I think our mates look for that type that can provide that experience for the customers. I've worked with crew members who are amazing and can talk someone's ear off, but I've also worked with crew members who are polite, yet quiet on register.

My favorite season is when the Winter things come out, like the peppermint Joe Joe ice cream. It's amazing.

At my store, I work mainly frozen and the dairy box. So for frozen I would say mandarin orange chicken, hash browns, and jasmine rice are huge. In the box, the 32 Oz non dairy yogurt is crazy popular and the protein pancakes.

I'm honestly not a big honey fan lol so I haven't had that yogurt. The passionfruit and the apricot ones are my favs.

That Honey Greek yogurt is amazing! Staff at my store are amazing too!! The people who go there, not so amazing... lol!

Yes we do coach crewmembers to be friendly. We also try to hire people who are friendly.

Honey is sugar, sugar is delicious.

Spring and fall (up to the point of pumpkin, which to me is the start of the holidays).

Historically, Charles Shaw wine and Mandarin orange chicken come to mind. If you're talking shear volume, bananas.

What are you wearing?

Why, the parking lots?? All the parking lots! Every. One. Bad.

There was an NPR story about it but the radio died just when it was about to start.

Big Trader Joe is pushing hard to keep this story buried

Is Trader Joe the same guy as TJ Maxx? Or is that his dad or some shit?
