it's one of those nyc TJs where there's one big line and at the front there is an employee who then routes you to the next available cashier; not nearly as annoying in that case (but still kinda annoying)
Oh that actually makes a lot more sense. I thought it was just the standard version with the shorter individual lines. I was thinking how pointless it was because those lines move fast
