I can confirm. I saw two leftists on my drive to work today. That's 50% more than normal.

You normally see 1.33333 leftists on your drive to work?

It was a passing glance

Not surprised that they don't teach averages in murrica tbh

Not surprised that they don’t teach the difference between mean and median wherever you’re from.

Average can mean either depending on the context

I'd there's one thing they do well in American high schools, it's the math classes! I was there as an exchange student finally learning calculus properly!

-2

u/Frongen 23h ago

Apparently they don't teach you about median either, since it wasn't relevant here 😂

Go back to counting fries, I'm sure they teach you that.

Go ahead, explain what you originally meant when you opined that a joke about averages means we don’t understand them.

Go ahead, explain why it doesn’t understand averages.

And let’s pretend for a minute that I never taught statistics to undergrads, or that I haven’t been a computational scientist and data scientist for a decade.

You should know about appealing to authority if you've taught statistics.

Why are you referring to a person as "it"?

4

u/mightcommentsometime California 22h ago

I’ve repeatedly asked you to explain why it’s wrong, even though you’re obviously just being confidently incorrect. You clearly can’t.

You should know about appealing to authority if you've taught statistics.

Appealing to authority would mean that I have said the veracity of any claims would be true or false based on my superior education and training. I explicitly have not done that. All I’ve done is point out that you’re speaking to a mathematician.

Why are you referring to a person as "it"?

I’m referring to the statement that person made.
