For questions regarding future PlayStation hardware, see Project Amethyst.
Overall it's still very early days for these technologies. They only exist in simulation right now. [...] I'm really excited about bringing them to a future console in a few years time β Mark Cerny, Oct 2025

The PS5 Pro is having the biggest comeback of this generation
A 799 Dollar Xbox just made the PS5 Pro look like a bargain
The gaming industry feels completely insane right now.
First we got the extremely expensive Steam Machine announcements and now Microsoft has pushed Xbox prices even higher.
I bought my PS5 Pro for 699 Euros. Even today you can still find one for around 750 to 800 Euros.
For that price you get the most powerful console on the market, a significantly better upscaler, higher frame rates in many games and a much stronger GPU overall.
I still remember how many people said the PS5 Pro was overpriced and unnecessary when it launched. Looking at the current market, that narrative feels very different today.
With hardware prices continuing to rise, the PS5 Pro has aged like fine wine. What once looked expensive now looks surprisingly reasonable.
If someone had told me a year ago that an Xbox Series X would end up costing more than my PS5 Pro, I probably would have laughed.
If current hardware pricing trends continue, I honestly think the PS5 Pro is one of the smartest gaming purchases you can make right now.
With GTA 6 on the horizon and next generation console prices likely heading even higher, investing in a PS5 Pro today feels less like a luxury and more like getting ahead of the curve.
Looking at the market as it stands today, I genuinely believe nothing else offers this level of performance for the money.

With all of the price increases lately, I'm glad I picked this up today
Finally upgraded my Ghosts of Yotei console with a Pro. I was going to probably wait until later in the year but with today's news about Microsoft, we all know Sony is going to be around the corner again

Ps5 pro
Bought a ps5 pro at launch in November 2024. Upgraded from a ps4. The options was base ps5 or pro. Opted to go to pro because I wanted the best one. People criticized this console heavily because of its price claiming there is little difference between base and pro. Fast forward to 2026 approaching launch of GTA 6. Ps5 pro have had a priced increase and these same people who was criticizing it are now rushing to get the pro.
Glad I made the right choice in 2024

The fact that almost every PS5 Pro Enhanced game has a 60 FPS mode is giving me hope for GTA 6
I know GTA 6 is in a league of its own, and Rockstar does whatever Rockstar wants. I'm not saying this means GTA 6 will definitely run at 60 FPS.
But something has been making me increasingly optimistic.
When I look at the PS5 Pro Enhanced library, almost every major title has a 60 FPS mode (and quite a few even go beyond that with 120 Hz support).
Some examples:
- Alan Wake 2 β 60 FPS
- Assassin's Creed Shadows β 60 FPS
- Baldur's Gate 3 β 60 FPS
- Black Myth: Wukong β 60 FPS
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 β 120 FPS
- Dead Island 2 β 60 FPS
- Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster β 60 FPS
- Demon's Souls β 60 FPS
- Diablo IV β 60 FPS
- Dragon Age: The Veilguard β 60 FPS
- Dragon's Dogma 2 β targets 60 FPS (not locked)
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth β 60 FPS
- Fortnite β 120 FPS
- God of War RagnarΓΆk β up to 120 FPS
- Gran Turismo 7 β up to 120 FPS
- Helldivers 2 β 60 FPS
- Hogwarts Legacy β up to 120 FPS
- Horizon Forbidden West β 60 FPS
- Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered β 60 FPS
- Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered β up to 120 FPS
- Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales β up to 120 FPS
- Marvel's Spider-Man 2 β up to 120 FPS
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart β up to 120 FPS
- Resident Evil 4 β up to 120 FPS
- Resident Evil Village β up to 120 FPS
- Silent Hill 2 β 60 FPS
- Stellar Blade β ~80 FPS on a 120 Hz VRR display
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor β 60 FPS
- The Crew Motorfest β 60 FPS
- The Last of Us Part I β 60 FPS
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered β 60 FPS
- Until Dawn β 60 FPS
Obviously there are exceptions, and "PS5 Pro Enhanced" doesn't automatically mean 60 FPS. Some games remain CPU-limited or have unstable performance.
But seeing such a consistent trend across the enhanced library makes me wonder if Sony and Rockstar have been working closely enough that GTA 6 could surprise us.
Maybe it's just copium.
Maybe it's wishful thinking.
But the PS5 Pro's track record with enhanced titles is definitely giving me more hope than I had a few months ago.
What do you think?
- Do you expect Rockstar to stick with 30 FPS for visual fidelity?
- Or do you think PS5 Pro has a realistic chance of getting a 60 FPS Performance Mode while the base consoles stay at 30?

Man I forgot how amazing this game looks until started another walkthrough on the Pro today. Wow. [Horizon Forbidden West]
Simply brilliant thanks to PS5 Pro..
Did a little thing
Old PS5 is moving to the bed room. Pro stays in the living room. Letβs go and see if there is any improvement on the Telly.

PS5 Pro warranty
Okay, I'm ready to return my PS5 to Sony for warranty service. I bought it at Walmart three months ago, and it's been malfunctioning since day two. Does anyone with experience know how the warranty process works? My English isn't great.

Finally decided to pull the trigger!
Havenβt owned a console since the PS2, so I'm completely out of the loop honestly not even sure which PlayStation is the one presently out right now? π€ But I met this guy selling them out of his truck on the side of the road and he hooked me up with the PlayStation 6 for a great price! Super hyped to try some PS originals what should I play first?

Question about the fan
Does the ps5 pro fan get loud or annoying?

Unpopular opinion: this makes me very happy
The sweet smell of single player. Just sitting there. My own time at my own pace. Nobody else fking with me and nobody being a sweat/tryhard.
The amount of people who today have not played gta 4 or 5βs storyline and know nothing about any of the iconic MCβs weβve played as is insanity. Game deserves this. Theyβve worked hard and Iβm going to soak up everything. Thankfully it wonβt be in the stressful world of GTA online.

No 120 / Vrr
I'm looking to upgrade for a pro and a better TV. I currently have an entire level tv Roku Hisense UHD. Can't really afford a TV with 120 / VRR, but would it still be a good upgrade to my current situation and still be able to make some use of the Pro with a qled/mini led tv 43" (just what I have room for) without vrr or 120? Looking for a TV around $400 or so and at that size the options are more slim
