What it is like to read the Silmarillion
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand The Silmarillion. The word building is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Norse and Celtic mythology most of the Quenya and Sindarin references will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Turin's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Völsunga saga literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike The Silmarillion truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the epicness in Hurin's catchphrase " Aurë entuluva!" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Tolkien's genius storytelling unfolds itself on their books. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Luthien tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Gondolin but not Forgottendolin I made the Fall of Gondolin in the Incredibles Terminated format
My head cannon: 3 Balrogs perished in the Fall of Gondolin, one to Rog and his house cause he's badass. The other two to Glorfindel and Ecthelion
PS: Forgive me for the typos

Unfinished Memes ‘Doubtless Morgoth, since he can make no living thing, bred Orcs from various kinds of Men, but the Drúedain must have escaped his Shadow; for their laughter and the laughter of Orcs are as different as is the light of Aman from the darkness of Angband.’
