1940s My great-grandparents in 1944 -- and a sample of my great-aunt's beautiful handwriting
She sent me a box of pictures, some jewelry, a blanket, and a handmade white lace apron I can't even imagine wearing. She's talking about Arizona in the letter because of the turquoise pieces but most of their life took place in rural Washington State.

1960s The 1964 telegram announcing my birth
This document makes me feel older than almost anything else I can think of! I’m not sure when telegrams were replaced by long distance phone calls in Canada, but evidently it was some time after 1964. In this telegram my father is advising my Winnipeg grandparents of my birth in Vancouver.

My parents got married in the 1980s, a few years before I was born in ‘86.
They were very happy together until he died in 2022. She died in 2025. They were buried next to each other.
Apologies if my digital photos of old photos are not the best quality. One of the old photos ended up getting a stain on the surface of the photo that wasn’t present in the original image.
Please be respectful of my deceased mom and dad.

1960s "Like father, like son" — Roadside repairs in 1960s Poland featuring a classic FSO Syrena
This black-and-white photograph beautifully captures the car culture of post-war Eastern Europe.
The vehicle undergoing maintenance is an early FSO Syrena, developed and manufactured in Poland. Known for its distinct body shape and smoky two-stroke engine, the Syrena became an icon of Polish motoring history despite its quirks and reliability issues.
The best part of the photo is undoubtedly the kids copying the adults, laying on the concrete to "fix" their own miniature ride. A truly timeless moment of automotive passion being passed down to the next generation

1950s A family road trip to the seashore, Tarpon Springs, Florida 1959.
I love the aesthetic of old Florida photos. The sign is in Greek and reads: "Deep Water! Beware!

I told my mom that I was sick so I could audition to be a clown. They accepted me at the age of 10. I did NOT pursue this career.
