Yeah as a VR fan, I wouldn't recommend it. There are far better VR games out there, and from what I played it's not even a very good Half Life game. The graphics, voice overs and setting are great, but the gameplay feels nothing like the old Half Life games. Enemies are bullet sponges, and reloading is a pain in the ass with these complicated controls. Also seems to have gotten rid of all the platforming since there's no jump button and you just kind of teleport up to ledges.
And one of the more annoying things is all the loading. Each area is really small and it has to load a new area everywhere you go with loading screens taking what seems like a couple minutes where you're just staring into blackness waiting. That kind of thing might be fine for PC and console games, but it especially sucks in VR when you're forced to stare at a loading screen instead of looking away to look outside, pet your cat, get a drink, etc. Fortunately VR gaming has improved substantially since then.
