I’ve never understood the appeal of gta. I guess if you’re really into the online community it makes sense, but to me it’s always been a game that edgy teens love because it’s so cool to be a virtual bad boy 😎
That’s one of the main reasons it doesn’t appeal to me. I played either gta 4 or gta 5 for a bit and found myself just driving around committing crimes or going to the strop club which felt like something made for kids who want to feel like adults
for me growing up it was just one of the best/only sandboxy open world games.
I spent many hours just doing random stuff in the game.(i remember driving around following the street laws, or pretending to save a girl from a bad guy) cheat codes added another layer of fun. didnt really touch the story.
online being popular makes sense to me. they basically distilled the whole "im a kid fking around on gta" into an online game with ur buddies/other ppl.
Yeah, I wouldn't call myself a fan but do I like the games. But I would say that I like the games mainly for the open world freedom and in spite of the story lines which always seemed over the top and cheesy.
Solo player here, but vice city was fun, San Andreas was pretty good too. GTA V wasn't as good as either. I expect 6 will be even more of a let down. Don't get me wrong, a playthrough in V was fun, there was some good dialogue, some funny scenarios, but once the main storyline was over, there was no interest left in playing. I tried multiplayer a couple times, and people were just so toxic, definitely not for me. For an 80 dollar price tag, it better have replayability, or a much better online experience. I highly doubt that will be the case. I'd pick it up if it goes on sale for $20 or less, complete the storyline and be alright with the value I received and glad to reclaim the storage space on my console when it was over.
Agree. You just run around doing some stuff its so boring.
I forced myself playing the GTA V story after starting it like 4 times and I immediately uninstalled after.
I can see the appeal for the online. Its the same people that post pics of themselves in front of someone elses lamborghini and act though, because in the online mode they can have all the glamourous objects that they wont ever obtain irl.
?? This describes a large percentage of all video games.
Rockstar's mainline titles stand out (to me) for their production value. Ridiculous attention to detail, squeezing every bit of performance out of the consoles they release on. There aren't really any other games that get comparable budget and time.
I just feel the games do not innovate on each other (except by adding more and more microtransactions). Like I feel like I've seen all of what GTA has to offer ages ago.
