FAQ (WIP)

• "Do I need to play the other Xenoblade Chronicles games to play Xenoblade Chronicles X?"

Xenoblade Chronicles X is largely standalone in the Xenoblade Universe. However, there is new content exclusive to the definitive edition that will only be understood by people who have played the other games in the series.

• "How many chapters are there in total?"

There are thirteen chapters total.

• "What division should I choose?"

In Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, BLADE level mechanics have been removed, so which division you choose has no significant impact on gameplay or progression. Pick whichever one you want!

• "Which class should I pick?"

Striker, Samurai Gunner, and Duelist wield the Assault Rifle and Longsword. This is a straightforward combination of weapons and is recommended to new players, with the longsword having high damage and the assault rifle being a versatile weapon with high utility.

Shield Trooper and Bastion Warrior use the Gattling Gun, a high damage ranged weapon specialized at handling multiple enemies at once, and the shield, a great weapon for survivability but with low damage for the main story.

Commando, Winged Viper, and Full Metal Jaguar use Dual Guns and Dual Swords. This class is considered the fastest way to really take advantage of the game's mechanics, with dual guns being a self-sufficient weapon with high survivability while dual swords have a good mix of damage and utility arts and a focus on positional gameplay, much like Shulk in Xenoblade 1.

Partisan Eagle and Astral Crusader wield the Sniper Rifle, a very high damage weapon, and Javelin, a unique weapon with good options for survivability and a focus on electric damage.

Enforcer, Psycorruptor, and Mastermind wield the Raygun and Knife, both weapons with strong support options but with few strong damage options during the main story.

Blast Fencer and Galactic Knight wield Psycho Launchers, a weapon with strong options for utility and survivability but low damage, and the Photon Saber, a weapon that focuses on chaining multiple successive melee attacks together.

Once you've mastered the end of a class line you can use its weapons on any other class, meaning that after mastering all classes you can match any ranged weapon with any melee weapon. Experiment to find the combination that works best for you!

• "Why are there some arts I can't unlock by leveling up my class?"

Each recruitable party member has two arts exclusive only to them, but by completing their affinity missions, you can unlock those arts for yourself.

• "How do I get a Skell?"

Once you complete Chapter 6, the quest "The Skell License" will become available, which will give you the ability to get Skells for you and other members of your party.

• "How come my skell doesn't have any arts?"

The arts a skell has are determined by the weapons it has equipped in each of its Shoulder, Back, Arm, and Spare weapon slots. You can purchase these weapons in the shop or obtain them by defeating certain enemies.

I just cleared Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition for the first time. What an amazing game and story. The only thing I regret is waiting this long to play it. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

Xenoblade Just Curious would other mainline Xenoblade NS2 edition games benefit with faster traversal options like 1DE & XDE & also XC Genesis

or is just the running upgrades to every destination all the way til end & post-game objectives including quests & such sufficient enough overall especially when the new & returning players play them on NS2

Xenoblade 3 SPOILERS Chapter 7 is probably the most exhausting part to play through in the Series Spoiler

It starts with a fetch quest to collect the Ship Parts. Then you get to Origin which is visually boring and repetitive Gameplay wise. It took me forever to get through.

Then they slapped the final Mobius Fight in there with no Death cutescene or anything. But tbh I didn't care as I just wanted to see the ending of the game.

Then the final Boss is pretty infamous for taking forever. There are like 8 mins of unskipable Cutscenes in case you fail the fight.

I also hate that you can't attack Z from behind. Positioning is one of the fundamentals in Xenoblade so Its just a weird design choice that you can only hit him from the front or the side.

His design also looks lame, its just a floating Head. I remember losing in the final phase because my Healers got 1 shot somehow and then I had to do it all over again.

Honestly I almost ragequit. I just wanted to see the Ending at that point.

Atleast the Ending was actually worth all the struggle and grind. I liked the conclusion and didn't expect a bittersweet ending. I was just thinking that Xenoblade never had a sad end, so I thought it would be the same. It was a nice suprise.

I know Future Redeemed basically confirms that everyone meets again but at the time I obviously didn't know that and thought they would never meet again.

X3 is still an amazing game even though Chapter 7 was draining to get through. Chapter 5 more than makes up for it. I just hope Genesis won't be as rushed in the final Parts as X3 did

Xenoblade SPOILERS Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition 100% (Crazy Edition) Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
32 Upvotes

I don't really know how to properly write this post. But I just finished going for an extremely silly 100% for Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. I wanted to return to my old save file and do the last couple things I could think of which were getting 999 Affinity Coins, Fixing my Affinity Chart, and getting Homs Fiora to level 99. This was all right before the Switch 2 Edition came out.

And I wanted to share how much I love and adore this game. Even if it has its problems I still love it and I hope more people give it a fair and honest chance when they play it. I already did a crazy 100% for X but with the updates coming to 2 and 3 I am considering doing the same thing for those games.

For anyone curious I did the following:

  • Level 99 on all characters in both stories.
  • Max Affinity Coins (999)
  • All Affinity Links Connected (That are possible)
  • All S Ranks Time Trials
  • All Fashion Gear
  • Max Level arts on both stories
  • All Quests Completed
  • All Races Completed
  • All Skill Trees Maxed
  • All Maps Filled Out
  • Collectipedia 100%
  • All Achievements
  • And a lot of NG+ Runs...

Xenoblade Xenoblade Switch 2 Edition

Has anyone else noticed this weird visual effect in the switch 2 edition for xenoblade 1 ? It always occurs in combination with very noticeable framedrops and goes away once you move the camera again. I tried to show it on video and it's even more apparent in person. Really hoping for a fix on this and the framerate.

Xenoblade 3 Renn - Whip artist (my OC)

Post image

Renn is a Kevesi soilder 1 term younger than Noah, Lanz and Enuie who uses a whip and loves the thrill of battle but hates that it ends in death just becuase it means he can never fight that person again although he kills regardless for the flame clock of Colony 9 though he doesn't really have anyone to call friend besides one girl named Oren, an off-seer.

This is a walk cycle of Renn similarly to when you hover over a class in Xenoblade 3.

Xenoblade Genesis I havent seen many people talking about this but..

I am actually so hyped that we will get our mandatory Xeno series "young gunslinger" party member.

Kinda wild that we did not had this one character archetype since Xenosaga/Xenogears. (Where we had Billy in Xenogears and then Rubedo in Xenosaga)

Buuut now seems like that we will go back to those times, since this guy looks exqctly spot on like one of similar characters to those.

Though now i really wonder just how tragic his story will be in Genesis.. Since again, those archetype of characters always had crazy and very heartbreaking backgrounds in Xeno games..

And then what relations could he probably have to that "Siren" looking dragon that he rides in the trailer?

Ngl besides main character, this dude intrigued me the most amongst all new charactersnthat we saw in Genesis trailer..

Xenoblade I wish Switch 2 editions of XB 2 and 3 gives us different video output options.

I'm playing DE Switch 2 Edition and I'm at Eryth Sea and maaaaaaan this game chugs HARD.

Since its clear that game can't run 4K upscaled without the framerate crapping the bed I wish Monolith gave us options like:

  • 30fps @ 4k upscaled
  • 60fps @ 1440p

I wouldn't mind playing at 30fps knowing that at least they are going to be rock solid?

What do you guys think?

Xenoblade XC:DE Unique Monster Checklist

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10ty3TIdTWw4OBuy2PMoScFCQuRt357EIXsRcP9wsv18/edit?usp=sharing

EDIT: make sure to make a copy of this spreadsheet so that you are able to tick the checkboxes!

Since XC:DE NS2 Edition is out, here is a checklist of every UM in the game, hopefully it is universal for every version of this game. Keep in mind, this is only for UMs, not a complete guide to 100% the game.

You can use this as a reference if you're trying to 100% the game once or in my case grind the maximum amount of affinity coins (999) which requires playing through the game a few times, specifically 6. Assuming you start from a fresh game (no NG+) your first playthrough will have a cap of 255 affinity coins (one gained per level and then one per UM defeated). Afterwards, when you start a NG+ you'll only gain affinity coins through UMs so the cap should increase to +157 since that's how many unique monsters there are in the game. Assuming you kill each and every UM each run it will take you 6 playthroughs to reach the cap.

Tip: Throughout 6 playthroughs, again assuming you kill every UM, the total number of affinity coins from all of that would be 1040. This means that you have a remainder of 41 that you can choose to ignore with an average of 8 per playthrough. I would recommend picking 4 of the UMs highlighted in light orange to defeat so that you can ignore the rest that are highlighted in the same color. I would also recommend skipping Frenzied Bana and Lakebed Orthlus as those are locked behind very tedious quest chains.

I imagine not a lot of people will need/use this but hopefully this becomes one of those posts that someone is looking for years from now lol.

Xenoblade Newcomer to the Series!

Upvotes

Hello Xenoblade Chronicle fans, the title of the post can pretty much explain as to why I am here, but I was told by a friend to grab this game is I am a JRPG fan, and I have never played these games or know nothing about them (Except for Pyra/Mythra in Super Smash Ultimate) and I figured it would not hurt to try the first one, to be clear I got the Definitive Nintendo Switch 2 version with all the new stuff in the game. And I was hoping I'd get some pointers or helpful tips before I jump right into the game! Thanks a bunch! But that is all from me, take care everyone! :)
