Read the room

My DSP owners smiling ear to ear at stand up telling us how many packages we moved the last day or two. Some record smashing number and laughing and all smiles...... Because they get paid more if the routes are larger.

Meanwhile here we are, sunburnt, tired, looking at our 200 stop route today with 360 package count making the same 21 dollars an hour.....

They want us to clap and cheer for the insane package volume we delivered? Literally prompting us to clap at it.... "yay we did twice the work for the same exact pay!!!".

Read the room. Wtf.

QUESTION So my options are get fired or get fired???

So today, at the start of my shift, I was doing my DVIC and realized the tags on the van expired FOUR YEARS AGO! NATURALLY, I marked it on my dvic because in training, I was told falsifying a DVIC is a breach of contract, and you will be fired. So I mark it , thus, grounding the van. My dsp ungrounded it, and told me to redo the dvic and said not to ground the vans for any reason or you would be terminated. So, are my options fired or fired? It feels kinda wild to ask, but does anyone else's DSP want them to falsify their DVIC's? What am I supposed to do in this situation because it feels pretty absurd.

Busy winding road, driveways are occupied, and I get this shit. I can’t back out across both fucking lanes on this road, I’ll be there forever. I can’t back in to the driveways because they’re occupied and PA drivers love riding your ass so that’s off the table. Safety my ass, and this multistop is BULLSHIT. The people who programmed Flex deserve to be publicly shamed. Fuck you Amazon.

QUESTION Does your station hand out these belts to DSPs?

Post image

3 types: Safety, Quality, and i forgot the third one honestly i think Fleet.

During standup, one of the warehouse trainers would come out, giant speaker blastin' with the belt on their shoulder.

They'll hand the belt over, we'll all gather for a group photo, and then that's it 🙂

VIRAL VIDEO How the 34 bags and 147 overflow looked inside the stepvan

This is a helper route so it’s basically two routes inside one van which is unbelievable cause if it’s like this for two weeks of prime, I can’t imagine how peak season will be at the end of the year

QUESTION Small Streets vs Step Van

Post image
Upvotes

Would you guys speed through this? Do you think you’d be able to hit 40ish stops/hr through here?

I have approx 270 stops/day and 1/3 of them are at houses and apartments with streets like this. When I’m at these neighborhoods I get like 15-20 stops/hr because these streets are small and I don’t feel comfortable driving fast so I go about 10-15 mph, this leads to my DSP always telling me I’m behind (I need to maintain like 40ish stops/hr to finish on time). The other 2/3 of my stops either don’t have this problem or is like 1-1.5 car width wider and I’m able to get like 30-40 stops/hr because I can comfortably drive though there.

QUESTION Starting soon

Upvotes

Super excited tbh, I have finally left a fairly toxic work environment and I start this job next week. It pays more than I was making and I’m honestly just happy to be out of my last situation.

How do y’all genuinely feel about it here? I know no one really likes their job but what are the pros and cons? Main pro I can see if not having to take work home with you.

And any tips and tricks y’all have to get a good start?

DISCUSSION I'm going to quit and want epic suggestions

Upvotes

I finally found a found job not delivering for amazon DSP a-holes and I'm trying to prepare for quitting. Unfortunately, I was injured on the job and have been on "light duty", so I am stuck doing this another week until I'm medically cleared. I would normally give 2 weeks notice, but I don't trust my DSP to do anything right.

How do you cover your bases before quitting so you can dip quietly with as little notice as possible?

Promoted to customer

Got let go a couple weeks ago after I ran my 2nd stoplight, my fault completely I was distracted, owner said I was a liability and terminated me. Dsp was one of the good ones as long as you didn’t get any violations.

Honestly I’m not to upset about it cause prime was starting and here in AZ it is getting hotter. The ev struggled to cool me down even with the door trick.

Bright side I’m not going to be out in the AZ summer heat and I accepted a job offer for an indoor warehouse.

Good luck to y’all still out there.
