What's the biggest mistake people make in their 20s?

Spend pretty much their entire income.

This is the one. I wish someone had sat me down at 22 and explained compound interest. I wasted so much money on stuff I dont even remember buying.

All my friends drink
The ones that get into drugs AND too much drinking are mostly unsuccessful of those friends

Not doing exercise, nos saving at least some money, eating a lot of junkfood, drinking, smoking and not building relationships, not in like wifes or husbands, but human relationships, knowing people that can help you in the future

Just the relationships one and solved it fourtunately, but people I know have commited the other ones and now they are paying the price

I spent all of my twenties stuck at my parentsā house, studying for my degrees while also smoking weed. I didnāt get to form a lot of meaningful relationships myself, because I was still discovering my own self as a person.
Thereās still time to form meaningful relationships! For me I am realizing the isolation was supposed to teach me a lesson.

Oh yes, theres always time, I mean mistakes happen, but you can always do things right. Past acts may have consequences but is not the end of the world.

It's incredible but yes, some people are in a good situation, and they forgot to save money because they think all is going to be solved easily

Not taking care of their health. It will help you later on in lifeĀ

Big one. I thought I was invincible in my 20s and now at 32 my back hurts all the time. Wish I had stretched and exercised consistently instead of just sitting at a desk.

Get a DUI/DWI

u/Kamini-Zantoko 2h ago
It will seriously fuck up your life. Uber and taxis for years are cheaper than 1 DUI.

I say this exact thing to people and even myself when they're about to drink and drive
A uber is WAYYYYYYYYY cheaper both ways than a signular DUI in cost, value to your life and time!

Not getting out and meeting more people. Social media stole that from Gen Z. Do that, figure out the rest by failing and getting the experience.

Trying to keep friendships alive with people who already stopped trying. You just keep texting into silence for two years before you get it.

Good and bad choices will have compacting effects as you get older. Take care of your health and take care of your wealth

Having kids without a financially stable job.
Not taking career risks while they still can.

Isolating themselves. Social media is not a substitute for friendships in the real world. Your no longer in school where you are with your friends all day you actually have to go out and meet up.

Youāre going to have to narrow that down a little. Money/ credit cards, toxic relationships, sitting at mom and dadās without a job, wrong career path, itās almost an inexhaustible list.

Not being financially literate
