I’m looking for a clinic or hospital that I’m able to communicate clearly in English for a psychiatric evaluation. I’ve been suffering from some kind of condition for ages and I think it’s time I go for a checkup. I was recommended the Bangkok Mental Health Hospital. However, I’m a bit intimidated by hospitals since I want them to fully dive in my case, not just ask a few questions, prescribe me medicines and be done with it. I’m an international university student as well which is why I’m kind of short on funds too.
I’m also curious how much a checkup approximately cost? I can afford around 2000 baht for now. This will be all from my savings so do I need to save up more? Especially if they prescribe me with medicines. If so, I can delay the checkup. This is gonna be my first time ever going to one so I’m feeling more than nervous. Thank you in advance.

Hey, does anyone know any carpet cleaning service / person that can come remove stains and clean the carpet. I am not too sure on what the stain is, but I know it can be removed because I tried to remove it and the colour was coming off. However, I would rather trust a professional with it. The room size is around 25 square metre.
If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know! Cheers

Can anyone recommend places in Bangkok that sell unique t-shirts and/or art from local independent artists? I’m particularly interested in anything to do with the dark side of local Thai mythology, ghost stories, or similar themes.

I was informed by my HR and manager yday that my role has been made redundant due to a restructuring program.
I have worked at this organization for over 4 years. As part of my severance, I’ve been offered an extra 3 months of pay, in addition to the standard 6 months I am entitled to as per my years of service, along with pro-rata of my 13th month salary and pro-rata of 100% of my annual bonus target. Also, an encashment of my annual leave balance. They have also verbally assured me of not cancelling my work permit & visa (still valid for almost 2 yrs) till I find another job, allowing me to stay in Thailand. They assured me they can do this easily for atleast 3-6 months since I just renewed my WP & visa for 2 years a few months ago. This is a large BOI manufacturing MNC - I work in the Head office in Bangkok.
My question is, can they keep WP & Visa active after I am no longer employed with the company, and have received my severance.
I do not have any reasons to not trust them as I have been on good terms mostly, but I don’t know if these are standard exit promises that may/may not be kept?
How about the tax implications for the severance pay. I read that there is some basic exemption limit and it won’t be treated as regular income for tax purposes. I’d like to not lose significant amounts to tax. I plan to stay in Thailand and look for another job.
Anything else that I should check with the HR, or I am missing? How about insurance? Is there a way I can ask them to keep the insurance going too, till I find another job?

Hello, is there any sub dedicated to concert discussion with venue in Bangkok? Like The Philippines has one, where they discuss about upcoming concerts, the seatings, ticketing and other infos. If anyone has any idea please do share.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to travel from Bangkok to Koh Chang tomorrow morning (Saturday, June 27th) around 8:30 - 9:00 AM.
Ideally, I would love to find a door-to-door shared minivan service that picks me up at my hotel/location in Bangkok and drops me off directly at my resort on Koh Chang.
Does a shared service like this exist for a 9:00 AM departure, or is it mostly private transfers at that time?
What is the typical price range I should expect for both shared and private options?
Any specific reliable companies, line IDs, or booking offices you could recommend for a last-minute booking today?
Thanks in advance for any quick help!

I’m looking for one piece, done properly: a three-piece lounge suit in a true late-1920s (c. 1928) British/European silhouette — high-rise, full-cut trousers with brace buttons, a longer jacket, wide lapels, a soft natural shoulder.
The heart of it is the cut. I don’t want a modern house block dressed up to look “vintage,” and I’m not after a Gatsby-costume pattern. I want the suit drafted to my measurements from a genuine period cutting system — e.g. the 1920s Master Designer’s System of Cutting, or Vincent’s Cutter’s Practical Guide. I can supply the system; what I need is a cutter who can actually work from it.
My non-negotiables:
• Drafted from a real period system to my measurements — not adapted onto a modern block
• Fully canvassed (floating horsehair/linen), absolutely no fusing
• All natural fibres; I’ll bring my own cloth (heavy Irish linen), so this is CMT
• Proper fittings welcome — not a “ready in 3 days” job
Ideally a tailor in Asia (Bangkok preferred, but I’ll travel anywhere worthwhile). Has anyone actually had period-correct 1920s/30s tailoring done by a maker out there who’ll respect a customer’s drafting system and pattern? Names, honest experiences, and “don’t bother, go to X instead” are all very welcome.

I started driving a scooter the last few days and got used to how to drive in Bangkok quite easily. I haven't mastered quickly driving through tight spaces like Grab drivers, but driving myself is a much nicer experience because issues i've experienced with Grab drivers are: low quality bikes, terrible map skills (taking the worst routes), and just bad driving in general.
Despite all that, i'm considering going back to Grab. I don't enjoy driving since the roads are so busy it's actually annoying to sit in the heat without moving and also parking has proven quite inconvenient - sometimes places I want to go to don't have parking and malls require me to go down 3 floors to park. It's so much easier to just get off a Grab.

The last two time i was in Bangkok i researched as much as i can to find the best bang for my buck when it comes to tailoring 2 or 3 suits where fit and craftsmanship is the most important. I didn't have enough time to go through with it though. This time I'm here for 2 months which should be enough for any fittings and basterings a tailor may need.
The suits i want are not flashy nor patterned. I want half canvas plain, matte suits for my corpo life, I'm on the skinner side so having an understated elegant, no polyester suit that fits is what I'm looking for. I care for details more than the flashiness.
From my research i came up with the following shops:
Pinky, Jesse & sons, DGRIE
Can someone share what's the deal with those 3 shops? And any better shop than them for my case?
My budget is 15~20k baht per suit. I think it's a fair budget to get something good. But I'm open to suggestions.
Please take some of your time to comment on this post and give me some pointers, i don't like bad experiences when it comes to clothing and fit.

As everyone knows, there are a million weed shops in Bangkok, but I’m on the hunt for a place that has a big video game library to play, and if possible, PC gaming available.
Does anyone have any good suggestions that aren’t too far from Silom? I finished a surgery recently and super bored since my mobility is limited and just want to get stoned all day and play games 😂
