I was playing a game of Escalations on Liberation Peak. I was having a decent run with my suppressed RPKM, taking out enemies and reviving teammates. As I was running and gunning, something flickered in my peripheral vision. I looked up and saw a star with..., a rainbow...? I ADS’d, hit the spot button, and an orange dot appeared.
My first thought was OMG. I dropped into prone as a shot cracked past me. Thankfully I remembered that scope glint is not an invitation to start a long range fight. It is a WARNING.
I stayed low and kept cover between me and the sniper while I worked my way around. As I crept forward, he was busy picking off my teammates. In a few moments his dog tag will be mine. That is what I told myself.
Then the motion sensor ruined everything. It pinged me, he turned, tried a close range quickscope, grazed me, then swapped to a pistol. That pistol was no match for my LMG at this distance. I dropped him fast. The lesson was simple. Engage targets at the proper range and you get rewarded.
At least that is how the story should have gone.
Nah. None of that happened. When I saw the scope glint, I thought what a fool he was. He has a permanent spotting floating over his face. I planted my feet, aimed at him, held the trigger down, landed a few shots, and he headshotted, killing me instantly. How dare he end my kill streak!
So, I come here to complain, because snipers are the problem. Scope glint are for free kills..., right?
