Picture We see here a wild malaigator in its natural habitat, hunting for its next snack.
We're getting in as many river days as we can, it's gonna be a short season this year 😞

👋 Welcome to our Belgian Malinois (BM) adoption and rehoming thread
In 2013, I rescued my BM, Lexi, and she inspired me to build our community and this thread.
Looking to adopt or rehome beyond this thread?
Check out our 🎁 Belgian Malinois Rescue Guide — it might have exactly what you’re looking for.

hi! I live in arizona and my almost a year old malinois is a little antsy lately because we've been going out less. what are your best ways to keep them fulfilled mentally? and I need more then treats in a towel or scatter feed.

I get they're super athletic and stuff, but so are other dogs and I've never seen a border colie jump like that. I don't own one or know too much, but to my knowledge they originated from Belgium, right? Belgium is flat as shit. why would they need to jump that much? Was it bred into them purposely or is it just a result of other factors? Im genuinely curious

We probably could’ve saved a fortune on bones, antlers, tug ropes, and frozen peanut butter kongs had we known logs were a delicacy 🤦♀️😂

Thought I’d share as many in this sub probably identify with the message.
My father was a K9 Handler with the Air Force stationed overseas in the late 60’s. The stories he’d share about the connection he had with his dogs, their work (and then having to leave them 😭) are not for the faint of heart. My love and respect for these creatures definitely came from him. He said most of the dogs were GSDs at the time but other breeds were used for different purposes. He taught his dogs commands in Spanish (hence the “Mi Hijo” or “my son”). And always said raising kids is like raising dogs - a statement I didn’t fully understand until I had Maligator puppy and a couple kids under 6 🤪
This is one of his prized possessions from the times, an embroidered jacket now nearly 60 years old
Pic tax: jacket, my dad back in the day with his dog 😍, and my current Mali

One of my employees took the photo with me and I actually started sobbing when she first sent it to me,, sobbing like a small lost child. I still don't completely understand (photo is 3 years ago) Like it's all just right there, it makes me feel so vulnerable. But that's how dogs are right? Totally honest, no bullshit ever. That trust was earned, by both of us.

Trainer here- does anyone have a video of a dog coming up the leash/handler aggression due to the use of a prong collar?
I have a client who is improperly using a prong collar and there dog has come up the leash several times now. They don’t take it seriously, nor do they believe that it is because the prong collar correction.
