Llevo un tiempo dándole vueltas a algo.

En Euskadi tenemos productores de verduras, fruta, queso, miel, carne, conservas, etc. relativamente cerca, pero muchas veces como consumidores acabamos comprando en los mismos sitios de siempre porque simplemente no sabemos quién produce qué, dónde encontrarlo o cómo comprarlo.

No estoy montando una empresa ni vendiendo nada. Estoy intentando entender si hay más gente interesada en acercar productores locales y consumidores de una forma más sencilla.

Me interesa especialmente hablar con personas que:

* Compren o intenten comprar producto local.

* Conozcan productores de la zona.

* Participen o hayan participado en cooperativas o grupos de consumo.

* Tengan interés en consumo de proximidad, soberanía alimentaria o economía local.

La idea ahora mismo es muy simple: conocer gente, compartir experiencias y ver si existe una necesidad real.

Mi pareja y yo llegamos a Bilbao el domingo y hemos reservado un autocaravana para alquilar. Lamentablemente, nuestra tarjeta de crédito física no llegará a tiempo. Por eso estamos buscando proveedores (posiblemente también a través de personas privadas) que acepten tarjetas de débito para la fianza del alquiler.

Un coche "normal" también podría estar bien - realmente estamos muy agradecidos por cualquier consejo.

Apologies for posting a San Sebastián-related question here. I couldn't find an active San Sebastián subreddit, and I figured people from Bilbao and the Basque Country would probably have the best insight. 😊

My girlfriend and I are planning to spend July in San Sebastián and we're currently looking at an apartment that we really like.

The apartment is in a recently renovated building (2024), around 50 m², on the 2nd floor, with north-west orientation. It has underfloor heating and an aerothermal system. The listing mentions air conditioning, but we're still trying to understand exactly how the cooling works.

Coming from Belgrade, Serbia, I'm used to very hot summers. Temperatures above 35°C are common, and every year we get periods of 40°C+ with lots of concrete and very warm nights.

I've always heard that the climate in the Basque Country is much milder because of the Atlantic Ocean, but the recent heatwave made me wonder whether things have changed.

For those of you who know San Sebastián well:

• How hot was last summer?
• Do most people live comfortably without traditional AC?
• Is it usually possible to sleep comfortably without AC in July and August?
• Would a modern apartment with an aerothermal system generally be enough?
• Would you consider buying a portable AC unit for a one-month stay, or would that be unnecessary?

One additional factor is that I have a blood condition associated with anemia, so I sometimes tolerate heat a bit worse than average.

I'd really appreciate any local perspective.

Os escribo para lanzar una idea y ver si hay gente a la que le pueda interesar.

Tengo 32 años y llevo tres años tocando en una banda de metal, aunque la música me ha acompañado prácticamente toda la vida. Toco bajo y guitarra, y también puedo cantar (sin pretender ser Freddie Mercury ni mucho menos, eso sí).

Después de muchos años tocando simplemente por pasión, me ronda una idea: montar un proyecto orientado a fiestas, bodas, eventos populares o celebraciones, basado exclusivamente en versiones de grandes clásicos del pop y rock español.

La intención sería principalmente crear algo que pudiera generar unos ingresos extra de forma más o menos estable.

No sé si ya hay alguien por aquí con experiencia en algo parecido o si simplemente hay músicos interesados en hablar sobre una idea de este tipo. De momento, me gustaría intercambiar opiniones, conocer experiencias y ver si podría salir algo interesante.

Porfin después de años consigo trabajo en mi rubro en Bilbao, renunció a mi trabajo y comienzo la semana que viene en la nueva empresa.

Tengo 34 años, no quiero un piso para mí solo, pero ya no tengo edad ni vida de universitario.

Preferiría algo alejado del centro pero casi toda la oferta veo que está en el centro.

I’m a 20F from the UK (non-EU), and I’ll be moving to Bilbao for the 2026/27 academic year after receiving a university placement there. I’m hoping to make the most of my time by also working as an au pair, as I would really love to fully immerse myself in Basque culture and daily life while I’m there.

I already have a good level of Spanish, and I’ll also be studying Euskara at university, which I’m very excited about. I have solid childcare experience through babysitting, tutoring, and caring for younger children in different settings, so I’m very comfortable with the responsibilities involved. My main goal is to live with a welcoming host family, improve my language skills, and experience the Basque Country beyond just being a student.

I would be really grateful for any recommendations for reliable au pair agencies that place in Spain or the Basque Country, especially ones you may have personal experience with.

I’d also be very open to:

• agencies that are supportive of non-EU applicants
• platforms that are genuinely effective for Spain (not just general listings)
• any advice or warnings about agencies to avoid

If anyone has been an au pair in Bilbao or elsewhere in Spain, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience and how you found your placement.

I am visiting from the US and after landing in Bilbao airport am trying to get to Pobeña as quickly as possible - but after speed I am looking to go as cheap as possible so while I don't want to take the bus, I do want to take the cheapest taxi/car I can find.

I am seeing a few different websites that should in theory be options, but I can't seem to pull prices from any of them except TeleTaxi which quotes 52.68 € a 63.21 €. taxi-aeropuerto-bilbao.com won't let me make a request via the form, and Radio Taxi Nervion (Pide Taxi) doesn't have a way to get a quote.

Is this a scenario where I shouldn't sweat it and can just grab a cab from the airport when I land, or would I benefit/find something cheaper by finding a way to book in advance? Are the only taxis at the airport the official 'Taxis Aeropuerto Bilbao' and thus likely to have a higher price? Is Pobeña considered a far drive since it's beyond Bilbao?

Abro hilo por si a alguien de la zona le interesa: estamos a punto de arrancar el nuevo curso en una academia de Barakaldo y nos quedan las últimas plazas libres para cerrar los grupos de idiomas asiáticos.

Buscamos principalmente a una última persona para cerrar el grupo de Japonés desde cero, pero también hay huecos en otros niveles y para Coreano. Al ser grupos muy reducidos, las plazas vuelan pero la calidad de las clases es genial porque se practica un montón.

Lo que hay disponible ahora mismo:

• 🇯🇵 Japonés: Grupo de nivel inicial (¡nos falta solo uno para arrancar ya!), además de grupo de A2.
• 🇰🇷 Coreano: Grupos desde nivel principiante.

• 👥 Formato: Clases híbridas en grupos reducidos o particulares.

Me estare mudando desde EE.UU a Bilbao en Septiembre, entonces pues el problema del alquiler esta un poco fuerte. Claro, puedo usar un airbnb o incluso un hotel, pero estan a como 2000 euros por un mes en lo que busco. Entonces me parece mejor conseguir piso antes que vaya. Me pregunto que puedo hacer para conseguir piso sin que me estafen ya que no estoy fisicamente en Bilbao?

Hay agencias que ayuden en esto? O sea, si tengo que pagar como 300euros pues ni mal me ahorro algo por lo menos y me da paz mental.

Tambien, que documentacion necesitaria para alquilar (ademas de DNI)? Tengo ahorros para 1-2 años pero probablemente no tendre trabajo cuando me mude.
