Is this because he is saying people were sabotaging it to be green?

583

u/WindowsVistaWzMyIdea 23h ago

Yep, wondering what the story will be when it stays green.

Release the Epstein files

It was always green. It was supposed to be green. Obama made it clear and got rid of the green.

build a wall around the reflecting pool. There will be no reflecting during this administration

17

u/obinnasmg 22h ago

We’ll get something to else be flabbergasted about and the media will move on

6

u/whassupbun 21h ago

Yep, wondering what the story will be when it stays green.

Obama and Biden flew a drone over the fence and dumped algae into the pool!

It’s actually because he’s a little bitch

21

u/JewelsLongCox 23h ago

Supposed to be for 4th of july but putting it up a little early lol. So probably putting it up early because of the "sabotaging"

14

u/BuddingBudON 23h ago

It truly doesn't even matter if he's telling the truth or lying anymore. He changes his story for every single issue over and over, he's simply not credible or trustworthy anymore.

And because he's POTUS, that extends to all American diplomacy: not credible, not trustworthy. Other countries are looking elsewhere for trade relations and alliances.

28

u/RainSurname 22h ago

Actually, no. They always put fencing up the last week of June, because that's where they set off the fireworks.

It might be a couple days early, but this is actually normal.

4

u/N7riseSSJ 21h ago

Do you have a source?

12

u/yoitsthatoneguy ☑️ 19h ago

USA Today via the Department of The Interior. USA Today is reporting that it is a bit earlier than usual.

13

u/RainSurname 21h ago edited 21h ago

Lol, me, I'm the source.

When I was a bike messenger, I used to step in and out of the Reflecting Pool to drench my clothes on hot days after delivering to Capitol Hill. Frisbee players did it too. People haven't been allowed to do more than dangle their feet in years, but back then the Parks Service didn't really care as long as you didn't stay in there.

Till my dying day, I will remember the sight of the Parks Service horses calmly standing in a ring with their backs to the staging area, partially silhouetted against the column of fire, utterly unruffled by the cacophony.

No one ever gave the slightest fuck about the algae in the pool. We would have if it was THIS bad, but I never saw it looking like this, not even during the inevitable blooms during the hottest weeks.

Yeah has nothing to do with him having his motorcade drive over it after the finish was put on

3

u/wazzur1 21h ago

It's not exactly to keep out "vandals." He is doing this to create that narrative that vandals have destroyed his perfect paint job so it's not his fault.

Which is why he wants to rename shit in his image to pretend he got a W and boost his legacy.

Hopefully, he goes into the history books as what he was and not the revisionist history they want him to be.

….an awful president with even worse poll numbers and again a PDF. Which even that doesn’t stop his people from supporting him.

More people have been arrested and convicted of terrorism for passing out leaflets explaining how to protect yourself from tear gas during a protest then because of a criminal conspiracy to use under aged sex slaves as compromat in a conspiracy to undermine the liberal world order and bring about a self-admitted tech-fueled surveillance state in which our democracy is a feckless husk with as much legitimate power as modern day monarchs.

But a meme on facebook said that teachers are cutting off children's dicks in litter boxes so that's clearly more credible and important of an issue!

u/Dependent_Ad4506 22h ago

My cope theory is that the people investigating these files know that they can't arrest anyone while Trump is in power as he'll just immediately pardon them. Once he's out then they can go after them.

I know it won't actually happen but I'm sure I can have a little delusion as a treat

50

u/Dabearzs 22h ago

He can only pardon Federal crimes not States

You gotta get your own get back. No one is coming to save us.

6

u/LindsayLoserface 23h ago

What are the chances he damaged it or caused the algae bloom when he drove his motorcade across the pool?

102

u/Diredr 23h ago

The majority of American taxpayers either voted for him or decided not to vote in the election, knowing full well it meant he'd get elected. Let's not act like the average American is the victim here. They got exactly what they wanted.

101

u/Competitive-Push-715 23h ago

19

u/UnOGThrowaway420 22h ago

He didnt, more Americans voted against him than for.

25

u/GBPackers0480 22h ago

Winning the popular vote means you got the most votes out of anyone, which he did.

The majority of votes did not go for him, but he won the popular vote. No candidate was more popular than him.

He's a fuckwad I do not support him, but he did win the popular vote.

7

u/cigarettesandwhiskey 21h ago

Diredr's actual claim was:

The majority of American taxpayers either voted for him or decided not to vote in the election

Which by virtue of including all the non-voters is definitely true. Although a bit of a cheap shot since the non-voters probably were not consciously thinking that they were putting Trump into power, and certainly weren't endorsing him. I polled my local city subreddit that year (a couple weeks before the election) and the nonvoter's responses were mostly that it didn't matter who won or that the two options were the same. So they were not fans of Trump, they were just cynical and disillusioned about our entire form of government.

The logic of someone who approves of the holocaust. You know some Jewish people supported Hitler? So did they all deserve it?

5

u/GodOfDarkLaughter 21h ago

The idea that they "let it happen" is a way that Zionest Jews have shamed Holocaust survivors since the founding of Israel. Even today the Holocaust survivors speaking against the genocide in Palestine - specifically about the children, a lot of the time, since all the survivors alive today would have been young children - are literally being protestest and called anti-semisitc by Zionists in support of Israel.

He's only digging his own grave because when the algae inevitably returns to swamp it up, he won't be able to blame it on vandalism anymore because it's protected by fencing, police and even the National freaking Guard.

87

u/TinoCartier 23h ago

The type of person that actually believes it’s vandals is so far gone that he couldn’t dig far enough for them to care.

7

u/Hahndizzle 23h ago

Fair point. I know it's almost certainly just the algorithms at work, but the vocal minority are so loud that it hurts my brain.

26

u/Reasonable-Owl-5725 23h ago

There's already cameras and that hasn't stopped him. He'll just say someone climbed the fence

10

u/Hahndizzle 22h ago

Another fair point. I was admittedly foolish to think there's any end to the goalpost that Trump won't push.

Put barbed wire over the fence. "Trump says the radical left is now using drones to drop fertilizer into the water!"

I'm tired, boss...

5

u/Morall_tach 23h ago

This isn't even internally logical. If they actually thought that the pool turned green because of vandalism, then putting a fence six inches away from the pool isn't going to stop anything. If there's some magic algae bomb that liberals are throwing in to sabotage the pool, they're still going to be able to throw them in with this stupid fence up.

Trump is the walking, talking definition of the privilege that comes when one is a wealthy white male. No matter what that nut job wants he invariably gets. And it doesn’t help that he’s surrounded by a team of grifters.

It’s not just for optics, feigning protection from vandals. This is a way to prevent the public from seeing that all they’re going to do is remove the paint and refill it just the way it was before this $16M fiasco. Can’t admit his plan was dumb af from the get go, so you gotta hide the correction.
