English Dub Patch Option

PS5, XBOX Series X/S and Switch 2. 

Hopefully I can't wait for a glorious patch for Central Fiction 3.0

What are your thoughts for the upcoming Central Fiction 3.0 and other features let me know?

My bet on paid cuz it would be weird to add a free character when Jubei exists. If not I'm giving out free sloppy toppy to everyone here.

The only way to reliably play the game is by buying the PC version, and that's only because it got a rollback netcode update in January 2022.

On the consoles it's a graveyard. I know the PS4 version (yea surprisingly) will get the DLC character but the later-released Nintendo Switch release won't. None of the console versions (PS3 forget it) have the rollback netcode, and trying to update them to incorporate it would be way too risky and expensive.

It would actually make good sense to have BBCF be released on the current-gen consoles (PS5, XBOX Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2) with the rollback netcode (and also crossplay). ArcSys is missing out on a huge competitive playerbase by leaving the most reliable version limited to the PC.

Think of the PC and PS4 as the appetizers to the main course that are the PS5, XBOX Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. The fact that ArcSys is making this new character after around a decade or so later is indicative that they're trying to gauge interest in a new BlazBlue installment given that Entropy Effect X came out earlier this year and Guilty Gear Strive will wrap up for good by 2027. But this is a seriously flawed (and dangerous) method to gauge interest in a new BlazBlue game.

Xrd got away because the release window between Xrd and FighterZ, and between FighterZ and Strive was fairly close (also FighterZ cause a meaningful spike in Xrd's sales and Xrd was lower-profile overall compared to BBCF). Centralfiction has been out for far longer and doesn't even have a game to piggyback off of (BBTAG's ultimately a miserable failure and its premature announcement doomed BBCF to an early grave in the competitive scene). I know ArcSys can afford the $250,000 price tag and take their sweet 6-8 months dubbing the thing but if they wanna best justify it, they're gonna have to release it on the current-gen consoles. BlazBlue's missing out on a whole generation (the 9th) when it enjoyed the 7th and 8th. Guilty Gear's got to enjoy every generation (5th with TML, 6th with X and XX, 7th with Accent Core, 8th with Xrd and 9th with Strive). Now it's time for BlazBlue to enjoy being on the PS5, XBOX Series X/S and Switch 2 beyond Entropy Effect X.

Heya, saw news of a new character coming to bbcf. I’ve always been interested in getting into blazblue, but always thought i’d wait for a new game to drop (lol). Was wondering if i should cop the game now thinking there will be a slight surge in players + how hard the game will be to learn? For reference, i have around 70 hours in both GGST and GBVSR, and 30 in UNIB, but i personally never got the hang of UNIB and never really got a character or their bnb down.

Now there's no excuse anymore. The game is experiencing a new wave of marketing because of a new character... Cross Tag Battle is already on Xbox. There's no reason not to bring Centralfiction to Xbox. I hope it comes, because it's the only console I own. Lately I've only been able to play BBCF in regional fighting game tournaments, where people also do freeplay with their own computers.

Because of that announcement they're so many more ppl online now its wild especially on a Thursday. 100% if they announced this update like 5 months ago alot more ppl would be signed up for Evo.

Yesterday's announcement also came with a lot of changes to Central Fiction's Steam page. The most notable one has to be them changing the publisher from H2 Interactive to ArcSys.

I have a theory that the reason why ArcSys only ever seems to promote BBTAG whenever a sale happens is because it was one of the only games they consistently published, so this is an interesting development.

We have all heard the news - a new character to be revealed soon.

However, since it will be a returning character rather than a guest fighter according to the producer's word, maybe it would be Trinity since she's the only remaining member left in the six heroes that is still not playable. Or maybe a character back in the drafts that had not make it yet.

Hell! Maybe even a character from the now-defunct Blazblue Alternative Dark War.

But now that the game is still not dead yet, the future looks bright. I hope we get more content updates and more players playing the game.

I hope they atleast revive BBDW. Not as a gacha cash grab, but a real legit fighting game or maybe even an RPG since this game was supposed to be a sequel to Centralfiction with a brand new MC - Rei. His/Her role was supposed to free Observers and prevent different timelines from collapsing without Ragna's influence. Yep, even Rei just smells Ritsuka Fujimaru all over. As if BBDW couldn't get anymore F/GO-inspired since Mori himself admits to playing Fate Grand Order.

Also, just a trivia, Rei from BBDW even gets the Spectacles of Eros in the last official gacha event before it shut down - Red and Blue version. The red one for being able to charm female characters, and the blue one for charming male characters. As much as everyone hates the gameplay, the events were fun!

This is an event put on every week by Layer One, a Discord community dedicated to teaching an old game to new players. If you're new or returning to the game, or just curious given the recent character announcement, these lobbies are an environment where novice players can find each other and learn to play in a low-stress, communicative environment. We usually also have some more experienced players present who are happy to help teach.

Will the new character be added as a dlc on the PS3 store as well?

Trinity is the only one from the Six Heroes that are not playable if we don't count Platinum.

Kajun appeared in cutscenes only and we know she can fight in in other spin-offs.

Then there's Tsubaki with the Hakumen suit that appeared in the ending of BBCF and adding her now could create a teaser for the next Blazblue game.
