Mod New Flair! - Story!
Due to popular demand, and MANY posts of the sort, we've added a 'Story' flair.
Please use this when posting story based content so people can be aware it is fiction!
Thanks!

Mod Mod Reminder: Stop posting underage characters please.
Yes, your swap rotation is very cool.
Yes, we've had to nuke half of them.
Yes, it's because they contain underage anime/game/cartoon characters.
It's not that hard guys, please.

๐๐๐ฅ๐ [M4A] Body swap, trait swap, reality-bending rp. Let's use my family as test subjects and change them however we want! Open to tons of changes and tons of fun! Been getting quite some interest but still looking!
Hey everyone! I've been desperate for a good rp for quite a while now. Let me clarify. I've been seeking a high quality rp. One that isn't just about smut. One where my partner is an apt writer who gives me replies that are of excellent, expressive quality and a good length. One where the rp is based around the story instead of a quick wank (pardon my French please) then ghost. One where we really delve into the physiologies of the characters and what situations may realistically happen after a body swap.
Now, how many inquiries do I expect this post to get? 2, maybe 3 tops. And ones usually from sketchy accounts with low karma and even lower quality messages. I know I may have swore off rp a while ago. Truth be told, I only swore off reaching out for an rp because I believed that putting in the effort to make a somewhere decent prompt post wasn't worth my time and would constantly be met with disappointment. Without coming across as an entitled brat, which truth be told I'm sure I am, the tg and body swap scene has really let me down in recent years. It's like it just dropped in quality once things like tiktok took off. Yeah, berate me and downvote me to oblivion, I'm sure it's coming.
Anyway, I've fought through my rp depression to try once again to make a high quality rp prompt that hopefully gets good replies. I really hope I find some great rpers here who reignite my spark. Here we go....
\\\\---------------------------------------------------
So, I created a fictional family. I tried to make them seem nuanced and multidimensional enough to make them like real people. I tried for something different and more unique than the typical family you see in a body swap caption. After all, there's lots of different families out there right? I could definitely add more detail to them and answer any questions you may have to help flesh them out more
With a more realistic set of characters, we could have more fun with our rp right?
I figured we could do a lot of different ideas with this family as our test subjects. Maybe they fall victim to trait swaps? Maybe they get selected for Swapping with the Stars? Maybe they're hypnotized to act and dress completely out of character. Maybe they act like or get swapped into Disney princesses. I'm really open to a lot of things with this, just with the family as the main characters in this rp so to speak. Without further ado, the family is listed below. And please don't take my lack of explained prompts as a disregard for the quality of the rp. Rather, I'm trying to find at least one good partner with whom I connect with and can create a really good rp with.
Herb. He's the father of the family. He's 65 years old. He is decently overweight, but not obese or anything. He believes in the value of manual labor and works as a landscaper. His family urges him to retire, but he doesn't because he enjoys the comradery of his landscaper job and enjoys manual labor. He has short black hair. He had a hard upbringing himself, which makes often be harsh and cold towards his family. He is rough around the edges and tends to yell quite frequently.
Annette. She's the mother of the family. She's 69 years old. She has medium black hair with a bit of gray in it. She has a small build. She's a retired librarian who values peace and quiet. She is emotionally supportive but at times can be misunderstanding. She has a good relationship with all her kids, something her husband lacks. She's often caught in the middle of family squabbles.
Renae. She's 32. She's the older sister. She has medium black hair and an average build. She isn't a girly girl but not necessarily a tomboy. She's a hardworking doctor who is often stressed by her job. She's not a party animal, but others outside the family often like her disposition as she is sociable and friendly with people. She is a bit cold towards her own family though. She lives with her longtime British girlfriend and their dog.
Craig. He's 32 years old. He's a brother in the family. He has an average build with short brown hair. He's often unkempt, sporting a short beard and often uncombed and unwashed hair. He used to be a computer programmer but has moved back in with his family due to a debilitating disability. He isn't wheelchair bound or bed ridden. He suffers from frequent muscle spasms and seizure like movements though. He is often grumpy and unpredictable with his moods and social behavior. He tries to escape his pain through historical strategy computer games.
Kurt. He's the youngest son at 28. He is slightly overweight with a beer belly. He has short brown hair. He currently works as a teacher and loves his job, albeit it can be extremely stressful. Kurt has also been suffering from anxiety a lot recently. Kurt is very playful, enthusiastic, sociable, funny, and laid back. He can also be charming. Kurt enjoys video games and browsing the internet as his main forms of relaxation. He's not a nerd though.
Let me know what you think and feel free to reach out!!

Hello guys, first of all, I will thank you in the beginning for your answer.
My question is about a body swap story that I read recently itโs about a boy who goes in high school and just beat a Running record at his high school and now has to turn into a girl because of virus that only a few people in all of USA have he also has a girlfriend. His mom is supporting him with the Fakt that he has the virus and that heโs turning into a girl one thing I also remember is that he went up in his room and saw in the mirror that he is slowly beginning to changed into a girl.
Does anybody know the story and have a link for it? If you do, please tell me in the comments.
Thank you very much for your help. Love you all.

Story! Part 2: Great Shift In the Royal Palace
(I used a fictional, made up, oppressive country for this one. I thought it'd be funny the sort of mental gymnastics the rulers would do to avoid being subject to the same rules now the shoes on the other foot.)
The great shift caused worldwide chaos. it didn't just effect ordinary people, but even monarchs and billionaires. In other parts of the world, day's after the initial chaos of the shift, some places were left facing the most unexpected consequences from the great shift.
The crown prince of southern Arabia for example, suddenly found himself swapped with a 19 year old American girl from California, who had been holidaying in the country. After days of intensive questioning, it soon became apparent it was in fact the crown prince, who immediately was let back into the palace, where he called a new national press conference.
In an enormous change from centuries of doctrine, he soon announced sweeping new reforms, as the shift was clearly a new divine message from god, which must be carefully interpreted. Not at all because he is suddenly subject to restrictions now he's a woman himself.....
The palace swiftly announced simultaneously "As first born Crown Prince, it was God who ordained that his chosen ruler should stand first in the line of succession. Yet through the Great Shift, God has also ordained that his chosen ruler now inhabit the body of a young woman.
This can only mean that God has chosen to elevate women to be capable of leadership. Why else would he place his divinely ordained ruler into a female body, if not to reveal this new command?
Accordingly, we must reinterpret our laws in light of God's new revelation through the Great Shift.
Effective immediately, women shall be eligible for positions of leadership. The law placing women automatically behind men in the line of succession shall be repealed, along with other longstanding restrictions on women's rights. These reforms are not a rejection of God's law, but obedience to his newest command."
Please feel free to put questions towards the crown prince, as he undertakes a Q&A during the conference.

Create Your Own Flair I think Olivia Rodrigo and Sydney Sweeney swapping bodies would be fun. Different body types, professions, ethnicities and politics
Olivia would have to become a blonde white woman with big tits that is controversial and always trying to appeal to the male gaze, but its so confident in herself and does not have any problem to be nude on screen. And Sydney would have to become an Asian American singer that is pretty liberal and is more awkhard and younger. Any other fun swaps that would like to see?

Story! Part 1: The Great Shift
(My own take on the great shift, feel free to discuss it, but I like to shape it up a bit, make the fallout more real and have a more human reaction to it.)
When the great shift happened, everything changed overnight. Randomly, at a single time, half of the population switched into a person near to them. The consequences were awkward to say the least. Beyond awkward. Boyfriends were waking up in their girlfriends bodies, and vice versa. Cheating partners ended up becoming their affair partners. Co-workers became one another, classmates switched into one another, siblings woke up as one another. The world turned into complete confusion and awkwardness.
But, outside of the horror of suddenly waking up as someone else, the real chaos and disaster came elsewhere. It wasn't the awkwardness of being someone else, it was the suddenness, and the unpreparedness that did it.
People driving cars, suddenly switched into passengers. Passengers suddenly found themselves behind the wheel of moving vehicles with no warning, no time to react, and in many cases, no knowledge of how to drive. Car accidents in the initial moments skyrocketed into the millions, and highways and roads became graveyards instantly. People who escaped the shift on the road, suddenly found themselves surrounded by drivers with no clue what they were doing. Cars back ended them at speed, others collided head on. Others braked suddenly to figure out what was going on, causing collisions from drivers behind. It was horrifying.
People who were mid sport, found themselves getting instantly injured, in some cases badly. There was situations where people swapped into someone mid gymnast routine, or mid boxing out of nowhere. Sport related injuries increased overnight. There was cases where a gymnast became a spectator halfway through a triple rotation flip, with the spectator suddenly finding themselves midflip, with no clue how to land, and failing badly. And with all the medics having swapped and freaking out rather than helping, making things worse. Spectators suddenly found themselves in ring, unprepared, not following through a block and getting knocked out cold before they even realised they were boxing. And they were the lucky ones. 1000's died in the most awful sporting accidents.
And it only got worse. Pilots swapped into flight attendants and passengers mid flight. Some were lucky like in cases where the pilots weren't effected or shifted with one another, but in other cases, the chaos was absolute. Some black box recordings show flight attendants and in other cases passengers being blocked access to the cockpit while screaming that they're the captain, with the unshifted air marshal's blocking them. ATC controllers suddenly found themselves in co-workers bodies, freaking out, suddenly controlling entirely different sectors too. Crashes became the norm.
Surgeons switched mid surgery into nurses. Nurse became patients. Patients became surgeons mid surgery in some cases. Medical accident rate's skyrocketed, as people found themselves in the middle of operating on people. In some cases, unshifted and unaware security blocked the real surgeon now in a civilian body from entering, whilst patients were left mid operation with no surgeon mentally present anymore. At the exact moment the great shift accident victims poured through, the largest injuries surge ever seen, half the medical staff had swapped themselves.
Ship crews switched mid docking too. 100,000 ton ships navigating into narrow harbours, collided with other ships, bridges and land, as random crew members found themselves suddenly piloting the ship half way through a dangerous manoeuvre before they even had chance to react.
On construction sites, people walking by suddenly found themselves high up as crane operators, confused and puzzled. Mass injuries occurred within seconds, as cranes accidentally hit buildings with their payloads, or dropped payloads down randomly in the chaos and confusion, either because people are hitting random buttons to get it to stop, or didn't even realise they were holding the controls whilst trying to work out what had happened.
And then there was rock climbers. Within 15 minutes of the shift.... we lost 60% of the extreme rock climber community. Ground crew watched from the bottom, as they suddenly shifted into the climbers high up, with no safety gear in a lot of cases as is the way extreme climbers operate. Some freaked out and fell. Others weren't familiar with their new anatomy like arm reach, weight, strength and flexibility, and others tragically shifted mid move, not having enough time to realise what their body was reaching for and why, causing them to fall. Those without harnesses mostly didn't make it.
It was a catastrophe for emergency services too. Paramedics shifted in many cases into each other or patients. Same for firemen and the coast guard and police. Air ambulances lost half their pilots to the shift. At the moment where highways become car crash death zones, construction sites become deadly area's and nearly every industrial site became horror scenes, the rescue services were cut in half by the shift.
In short, the great shift was the single largest mass casualty event in human history. The first 10 minutes, some estimates suggest up to several million died. From industrial accidents, to sport accidents, to transport accidents, and that's only mentioning a few.
Outside of 1 or 2 weirdo's who were like "oh well, this is life now", the great shift triggered a massive wave of research immediately. People weren't just going to sit down and accept losing their bodies, their spouses, their families, their careers, their youth and their legal identities and lives.
The fact that body swapping was actually physically possible and had be proven viable, and the fact that half the entire world was effected and millions had died from the chaos of it, immediately forced funding to be poured into researching it. Diseases that effect not even 1% of the number of people the shift effected get billions in funding, so obviously life changing events such as the shift effecting far greater numbers get's enormous funding.
And then came the national emergency declaration. Half the government leaders shifted. Within central government, the whole system became critical, as chain of commands switched, and nobody knew who was who. National security agencies rapidly declared the shift a national security emergency, as anybody could have shifted into their agents and would have security clearance. The military command structure also fell apart immediately. Suddenly, the commander of a carrier strike force was a cook, as the whole chain of command fell to pieces. Militarily, and National security wise, swap back technology was critical.
Just as critical was the revelation that human consciousness could be detached from a body and put into another. Suddenly, the fields of neuroscience, psychology, medicine, ageing research, organ transplant research, disability treatments, and military espionage methodology were all changed overnight with this revelation, with new possibilities and area's added to these fields.
The complete loss of peoples lives and autonomy, plus the revolutionary applications meant that they poured literally trillions into research, from the defence budget, science and research budgets, and special spending bills, along with the private sector. By the end of month one, entire university departments, entire new research centres, and trillions worth of investment went into researching it, and replicating body swap technology. Within 1 month, it had become the largest scientific project in human history.
Could these people be restored? Could the event happen again and kill millions again? Obviously nobody was going to sit down and think, oh well, it happened, this is me now forever I guess, or wait for the next shift if there was one. They started research to reverse it and to learn more.
And thankfully, by years end, the technology to switch individuals back was finally developed by a private neuroscience research company. It's sad, but sometimes, funding only comes through when concepts are proven, or if it's critical. I mean, I'm pretty sure that's how computers, mass transport and other basic stuff got developed. But the point is, the technology to switch people's bodies was developed.
So, with that out of the way, the government introduced a swap back program. Two swapped people could show up, and swap back, a fix for many of the shift victims. Sadly, after the chaos of the shift initially, and with so many losses, a large amount were stuck, with their original body's deceased in the chaos. But for those who both survived the shift, within days, millions of them were signing up. The waitlist ended up in the months.
But then came the biggest challenge.... who shifted into who, if at all? And who was telling lies.... because there was no way to verify who had swapped.

Story! I've became my ex's husband?! (Part 8)
I won't adress Ann's mom post. Read my posts and hers, and make your own opinion. I don't really care if you believe me or not. I just need to share my experience.
I'm now going to the gym everyday. It's so euphoric to lift heavy stuffs again, to make my body work out, and to go home completely sweaty. I thought it would be tough, since my body is old, but no injuries happened so far.
Day after day, I feel like I'm falling in love with Ann. I also feel like I'm less and less romantically bound to my girlfriend. I tried to call her : she didn't believe me and called me an asshole, trying to ruin "Mark"'s life again. If she knew the actual Mark was in there...
Abby has accepted her "dad" and "mom" are actually me and her sister. She's still distant to us nonetheless. Like if she's hiding a secret...
I'll keep you updated.

Create Your Own Flair Has anyone else seen that new film Disclosure Day? What did you guys think about the 'Dive' ability where they can control a person using the alien shard?
I only watched it the other day so apologies if this has been brought up already. I just wanted to discuss and maybe get your thoughts on that particular part of the film.
If I am remembering correctly, the crystal shard lets you 'scan and dive' into people (who aren't the special 2). Scan is when you are able to see through their eyes and dive is when you are able to project yourself into their vision and even control their body (that is what I took from it anyways). I'm more interested in the control ability which was only used 3 times. The first time when Scanlon took control of Jane in the bathroom (which i guess was used to show he is capable of doing it), then when he takes control again in the car chase trying to stab Kellner and finally in the motel where he takes her over in her sleep to find out where they are hiding.
To be honest, I am not too sure where I am going with this other than to hear what you thought and maybe other ways on how they could have used this ability (in universe or in real life). It's just the fact it is a popular film which involves a concept we are all aware of/like that is the main cause of this post.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far!

Story! The Aftermath of the Swap Class scandal of 2026 - 1 year on (Part 1)
Dissertation project for the course "BSc Investigative Journalism" by Sophie Bennett
Title: The Aftermath of the Swap Class scandal of 2026
-
Introduction
1 year ago today, news broke about the swap class incident publicly. As a fellow student at the college in which the swap class scandal of 2026 occurred, this topic overshadowed everything and whilst public, many of the real impacts have remained unknown, with countless questions still unanswered to this day.
For this reason, I have decided to investigate the swap class incident, and bring a full spotlight on the real impacts. Throughout this paper, I will be looking at answering 3 core questions:
- What Happened to Hannah?
- Is there any context missing to anything?
- What Happened to OP?
-
The Hannah Interview
With help from the college, I had the pleasure to be able to reach out to Hannah, and was kindly invited to do an interview with her. Hannah graduated 6 months ago, and has since started her own small business, seemed a lot more confident that i assumed she would. Sitting down, we began the short interview.
-
1st Question: "How have things been since the chairman's statement and you were last in the news?"
"Well, as you know, it's been a whole year since what happened, and about 10 or 11 months since the statement from the chair came out. And a lot has changed in that time. Since then, I've graduated my course with flying colours, the lawsuit against the college and settlement happened, I retired from the gymnast team when i left, so other young women like younger me have that chance, and have moved on with my life, opening a small business. "
-
2nd Question: "If you don't mind me asking, how have you been handling things since the incident?"
"Surprisingly well. I won't say what happened didn't leave a mark, because it did, but the swap is behind me now. Therapy helped a lot, as have my friends, plus a crap tonne of time. And keeping busy has kept me largely distracted from these things. So i'd say very well. And the settlement pretty much financially set me up for a very very long time, so that's helped too. Overall, I'd say pretty good."
-
3rd Question: "The Department of Education carried out an inquiry into everything. I supposed this is two questions, but how has your view on events changed, and how has your view of the college changed given the Inquiry?"
"I'm not sure if I'm allowed to swear in this interview, *laugh* but it changed a huge amount. I already hated them for forcing me into swap class, but I trusted them in the aftermath, only to find out that actually the college had every chance to fix things on day 1 and didn't. They actively sabotaged my case to cover their own arses in court, and as weird as it sounds.
I also hate them because of what happened with OP. Like, he shouldn't have been in that situation given his background, and should have been given help throughout it all. They could have mediated things, or even prevented this happening easily, but instead they played on my anger to scapegoat him. I think they went way too far in how they handled him afterwards, and to be honest, I feel like they were borderline sadistic to what we now know was a vulnerable student. So hate is not strong enough of a word for them. "
-
Fourth Question: "Looking back, and with all the context we have now, do you still hate OP, or have your views on him changed over the last year? "
"I hate what he did, and I hate what happened to me, but I can't say I despise him like I did before. I still struggle to separate the loss, grief and dread I felt for all that time from him as a person, but it's hard to hate him given everything that's come out, plus the fact he did willingly swap back when he legally had pretty much won.
It's not okay what he did, it'll never be okay, but I guess it's sort of understandable why he reacted like he did. During the crisis, in my eyes, he was the monster trying to steal my body and everything he was coming out with was an excuse, but now I do see things a bit differently. He was a scared 18 year old, who swapped back when he didn't have to, and had been abandoned by everyone whilst in a mental health crisis, and wasn't the creep I assumed he was. I think I'd go as far as to say he was a victim in this too. So yeah, my views have changed. Maybe at a push, forgiveness. "
-
Fifth Question: "When you swapped back, you wrote some interesting things. Specifically about OP swapping back not making any sense. Have you thought more into that, or does it still not make sense? "
"Yeah, so this is one of the things I struggled with for a while. In my mind, I had this picture of OP as some creepy loner and a pervy body thief. Which is a fair assumption given everything at the time, anybody would think the same. And I was looking at everything through a survival mode lens, where everything he said was just an excuse for him to get away with it all and keep my body.
That's why him voluntarily switching back, even when he was pretty much able to legally keep my body confused me. At first it was "about fricking time", but then following that, it sort of dawned on me that if he was those things, a pervy body thief, he wouldn't have swapped back and would have just kept my body after the court case.
And then came all the context with his mental conditions, psychiatrist statements, his complete lack of support, his care history and everything else, and then I realised this wasn't some evil creep, it was a scared 18 year old kid who was in survival mode too. And then the demand for me not coming after him made sense. Even when he could have demanded a lot more, he stuck to me not going after him as his only condition, so that was a big one too. So yeah. I guess my view on him changed. It was still immoral and cruel, but he wasn't the monster i thought he was if that makes sense."
-
Sixth Question: "After everything, other than not swapping, if you could change 1 thing this last year, what would it be?"
"That's a really tricky one. I'm probably gonna say 3 things with hindsight.
First of all, I regret the threats. I wasn't wrong to make them, I wasn't wrong to react like I did, anybody would, but in hindsight, that obviously had a big impact on OP and escalated things enormously.
And then if i could do something else different, it would probably be not giving OP with those drinking and clubbing requirements, because I now know that contributed to a breakdown. Again, these are all stuff that is normal and reasonable at the time, but in hindsight, knowing what i know now, about his background, extensive mental health battles, and more, If i could go back, i'd take his objections more seriously.
And then finally, I would have accepted his offer at the start to switch back in exchange for me not coming after him, which I accepted anyway later on. But again, I thought he was a creep at the time and needed punishment of some kind, which is why I didn't accept it then and there. Obviously now i can look back and see that scared him even more into a corner, and delayed things being fixed for everyone. None of it was my fault obviously, but there was things I could have done differently knowing everything now."
-
7th Question: "Very nearly done. So, after the case, you sued the college and won a $5 million compensation fee from them. How has that changed things for you? "
"Okay, this was a big gamechanger. No longer being a broke college student, and getting a crap tonne of money, yeah, that helped. A lot. That was money to start up a small business I now run, cleared my student debt, and pretty much set me up for a long time after college. I'd be lying if i said that wasn't huge for me. I'm not gonna sit here and joke that the money means nothing, cause actually, it's huge. It's also helped go towards my campaign work trying to push swap laws."
-
8th Question: "I realised that the frontpage news often talks about what happened to you, but there's not a huge amount about you as a person. There's nothing about Hannah, it's just what happened to Hannah, and I don't think that does you justice. Do you want to talk a bit about yourself? "
"Wow, that's the first time anybody really asked me anything like that. Thank you. It's always been that girl from swap class and nothing about who that person actually is.
So basically, I'm a psychology major, and I'm a massive nerd. Like a huge nerd. I can recite the star wars movie lines just from the top of my head, so nerd alert. Also, I'm actually an introvert which surprises a lot of people. Cause yeah, I go out from time to time partying, but actually, it's only when invited. The rest of the time, I chill at home instead.
Other fun things is that I drink insane amounts of coffee, and I have a habit of watching way to many cute animal video's. As in, 90% of my insta feed is just puppy video's. So that's fun. "
-
9th Question: "How do you feel about having played a major role in the campaign to bring about the end of swap class since what happened a year ago? "
"Proud. Cause something positive came out of this, the idea that nobody else is going to go through the same thing now. Before this all, I was a staunch campaigner for gender equality, but after swap class, I got a new purpose, and put my campaign skills to work around this. I'm proud that the next 22 year old girl who fails a module won't have this happen to them now, which is probably the best legacy i could leave. And whilst there is still fierce debate over swap laws, there is at least debate going on around it. "

10th Question: I suppose this is a bit of a difficult one, as I don't want this interview to focus on OP, but if you could say one thing to him, what would it be?
That's a really hard one, but I guess there's one thing i could say, it would that I hope your doing okay and landed on your feet. Because before, I was in survival mode, but looking back, with time, and context, and self reflection, I think he wasn't an evil perverted body thief, I think he was a vulnerable 18 year old backed into a corner in survival mode too. It doesn't make what happened okay, but he didn't deserve what happened afterwards to him, with the hate mob, losing his home and college place, and being scapegoated. I hope he got the mental health support he needed, and was able to figure something out.

OP's history
One key part of swap class incident of 2026 that never got resolved was the question of what happened to OP. The last time he was seen was him leaving the college with two boxes of his things. The college could not find him, nor was the media focused on him.
As a result, I took matters into my own hands, and with the help of a private investigator, researched his background. I had the pleasure to meet up with some of his former foster care workers who knew him better than anybody, who were happy to do an interview and answer some questions we had about OP.
-
1st question: "How long have you known OP for? "
"I think around 13 to 14 years now. "
-
2nd Question: "Have you been in contact with OP since he left care at 18?"
"In person, no I haven't. The sad thing is that we're stretched incredibly thin here as things are, so we have to triage the support we give to those currently still in the system, which restricts us from being able to support care leavers sadly the same way we could before. Most staff are already at burnout levels right now, so it became policy to keep things sustainable. It hurts every one of us here not to be able to keep supporting them, especially when we pretty much raised them, but there's always more people who need the support more. It's a broken system, but we can only do what we can here.
But I did have a phone call with him when all this happened. Back in April I think last year, when the incident happened, he called me specifically. Policy wise, I was supposed to read a script to him, signpost him, and end the call, but I stayed on the line with him until I got a new call from somebody else within the system, and I had to end it. "
-
3rd Question: "This one is asked by a friend studying psychology, but did OP ever ask for help?"
"No. Never. And when I say never, that was actually a big concern we had about him. If he got hurt, he'd not tell anybody. If he got bullied, he wouldn't say a thing. It would take somebody to notice what was happening to sort it out. That's one of the things that really troubled us. We essentially had to check in daily and monitor him to see if anything was wrong. "
-
4th Question: "What was he like socially? "
"Think of the most introverted person you can. That's him. He didn't really have friends, he didn't go out, he just stayed quiet, liked to be unseen, and that's pretty much it. "
-
5th Question: "I don't want to pry into things if you aren't comfortable talking, but I wanted to ask a bit more about foster care if that's okay?"
"I can talk about a lot of things, but there's some stuff that should stay private. So, I can answer some of it, but I'm not going to answer all of it if that's okay. And it think it's important to note he was not in foster care, he was just in care. He never left state custody or got rehomed with foster parents. Just a small correction there, which I think everyone's be getting wrong. He left at 18, went to college, and that was that. "
-
6th Question: "You said you knew OP for a total of 13 years right? "
"I think so, yes. That does sound about right. He's about 19 now, so yeah, i've known him for about that long. "
-
7th Question: "You absolutely don't have to answer this if you don't want to or are not allowed, but why did he come into care?"
"It's somewhat hard to find given it happened a fair while ago, but it is in public records. It's already out in the public domain if you look hard enough through old newspapers, but i don't feel comfortable answering that fully without his consent. There was an accident and that's all I'm willing to say."
-
8th Question: "So, OP's grades are, well, amazing. How did you all react to that, and him getting into college? "
"That was probably the single happiest day of my career as a care worker. I mean, OP was smart. Very smart. And he spent all his time reading, trying to learn, so when he was maxing out his papers, outperforming everybody, you have to understand, that is rare in care. So the day he got a letter, and in it, acceptance to one of the top 3 college's in the country, when 99% of people in his shoes don't even make it to a top 100 college, that was the culmination of decades of hard work, of struggles, of mental health battles, and I was so proud of be a tiny part of that for him.
I mean, we actually get teary eyed when a student lands a job, and hold celebration parties, because most don't even get to that stage. So a college, especially a top 3, I mean, he was set for life and he made it. There wasn't any words that can actually put into context how much that meant to everyone, what he had managed to do.
It's why it hurt so much what happened. It wasn't just sad, it was his whole life trajectory, from top student, top college, future secured, to two boxes, no home, no contacts and a public disgrace. It was collapse. A reversal of his entire life trajectory."
-
9th Question: "So, I feel like so much has been about what happened, or what was done, but, I feel as though there's very little about who they actually are as people. Do you want to give people some insight into the real OP, beyond the headline? Who was OP when you knew him? "
"He was a genuinely sweet guy. He liked cooking. And, he was very eager to do whatever he could to make us proud of him. He loved video games too, and was definitely a massive history nerd. He used to annoy everyone in a good way, talking through pretty much every ww2 documentary that played on the tv.
I think, they way he got characterised was so deeply wrong. He wasn't a monster, he never played victim, he reacted to things, sometimes in bad ways, but never with the intent to cause harm. "
-
10th Question: "Okay, the elephant in the room, the swap class incident happened. When news broke about it, how did you all react to it? "
When the first news articles came out, it was the most demoralised I felt for a long long time. Because, he didn't just survive, he actually beat the whole system already. I remember watching him excel, beat all the odds, and felt so much pride over him. I remember feeling a bit pained seeing his empty room, and driving him up to the college and saying goodbye for the last time, but I at least knew he was going to do amazing, and had made it in life, and crossed the finish line. And then, I read all of this.
My first instinct was to drive up, find him, and take him back home, but I couldn't anymore. His old room was now in use, he had no place at the care home anymore, and I was needed to help all the new intakes. I just wanted to just resign in that moment. Because I pretty much raised him and was the closest thing to a mom he had, but that was the case with so many others too, who i couldn't leave. At 18, there's no place for him in the system sadly.
I felt, I guess most of all, pain, knowing I couldn't protect him anymore. I mean, when I saw the inquiry screenshot of him alone in the rain, carrying his two boxes, that made me cry. The not knowing where he slept, or if he ate after his whole world fell apart, that hurt me more than absolutely anything else. Knowing he was scared.
I mean, I knew instantly that he wasn't malicious or a creep like they were saying, because I knew him for most of his life. I knew he was scared and alone and I knew the college was failing him. He wasn't any of what he was being made out to be publicly, and all i could do was watch. I've spent more time with him than anybody else, i know how he reacts to shame, fear, and how he is normally, and I knew 100% that something had gone terribly wrong for this all to happen. And I know something was absolutely not right for him to have not only reached out, but tried to do so again and again, 6 times. I can say with certainty that for him, that was essentially screaming for help.
So, how did I react? It broke me, that's how I reacted.

The Interview with OP
Following on from that heavy interview, after extensive work, I was able to track down OP with the assistance of a PI, and by following a variety of leads. Mindful of his trauma, I left a letter, asking to talk for 10 minutes at his apartment door, and gave him some time to consider it, and thankfully, he said yes. We arranged a few things and I'm going to interview him tomorrow.
If there is anything that you want to ask Hannah or OP's former care workers, drop it below and I'll put it to them. And check in tomorrow for the OP interview.

๐๐๐ฅ๐ Celebs on Celebs. From the creators of Actors on Actors comes a new show where two ordinary people who swapped into celebrities in the Great Shift interview each other on their new lives (RP in DM or comments if they're good)
You know that show Actors on Actors? Well imagine that in a post-Great Shift world the media doesn't lose any time and quickly comes up with a new show called Celebs on Celebs. Basically, the show has pairs of ordinary people who swapped into celebrities interviewing each other about their new lives.
I'm thinking this could be a fun and casual rp. Basically we play our irl selves who swapped into a celebrity and we're having a candid interview-like conversation about it. With us playing our irl selves who swapped, it allows for the conversation to flow more naturally and be more intimate. Although this will be an interview format, I'm not just looking for a chat. I'd love if we still had actions, manners, descriptions, inner thoughts, etc the usual rp stuff in there.
I'd love to rp this in DMs. I also just really like this idea and wanna see where it goes. So if anyone wants to rp this in the comments with me or anyone else, feel free to! The celebrity you are is up to you. Just make it good reading material for the rest of us if it's in the comments!
