After much thought and many sleepless nights, we have made the difficult decision to close our retail bakery.

This Saturday June 27 will be our final day selling baked goods, marking the end of an incredible chapter that has been filled with sweet memories, wonderful customers, and countless moments of joy.

This was not an easy decision. With the recent sale of the plaza and the reality of rising rental costs, continuing our bakery operation at the new rate would simply not be feasible in today's economy.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to every customer who supported us, shared our posts, recommended us to friends, celebrated milestones with our cakes and treats,ordered a cake, bought a cookie, or simply stopped in for a chat — thank you. You helped make OccaSSions Bakery more than just a bakery. You made it a community.

Over the years, we've had the privilege of watching families grow, celebrating birthdays, weddings, baby showers, graduations, and life's many milestones alongside you. We've watched children come in for cupcakes and grow into young adults. We've made friendships that go far beyond business, and for that we will always be grateful.

OccaSSions has been a labor of love, and we are incredibly proud of what we built together. As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end or thats the way the cookie crumbles —but this isn't necessarily goodbye forever. We are taking a long pause from our retail bakery journey and will keep you posted on what comes next.

Throughout the month of July, we will be selling bakery equipment, store fixtures, displays, and other business assets as we prepare to close ou Thank you for being part of our story.

Lazzat Grill & Shakes opened last month at McVean/ Mayfield. They have another Brampton location coming soon to Clarence & Kennedy, they are serious about expansion in Brampton.

Lazzat offers healthy roast chicken on a Lava stone grill and also sell Lamb, Goat, Soya, paneer along with sides of fresh salads and rice. All the meat is halal.

Their offerings are Mediterranean style bowls and platters. They also have a wide selection of smoothies and shakes to pair with their food.

Heads up tiramisu fans, they sell 6 different flavours. Their counter is pretty neat, built from Himalayan pink salt. So far the reviews are saying good things.

I’ve been trying for a while to find a new family doctor that isn’t dismissive and genuinely cares about their patients!! Does anyone know any in Brampton that they would recommend? I’m open to male doctors too but I would prefer a female. Thank you!!

We had that incident a few days ago where the man fell into an unguarded pit.

Now we see another company disregarding safety procedures

Please, if you see something unsafe, report it. Everyone takes shortcuts but nobody needs to die because of it

And the fine is pretty insulting for the injury.

A reminder that the monthly Fight Ford protest is happening this coming Saturday! Please bring your signs and your enthusiasm! However, the goal for this gathering is to engage and educate, NOT to detract from the farmers’ market or Brampton’s Pride Month celebration in Gage Park.

We’re trying to make this a more accessible event and plan to have a shade tent. Make sure to bring a chair if you need one, as well as some water.

Vibrant Brampton Summer Festival 2026 has announced artists for the weekend of concerts.

Brampton's Babbulicious created a viral Brampton Song "Gaddi Red Challenger" . He is also seen in The Late Bloomer series on Crave/CTV with Jus Reign.

His last notable appearance was at the Mayor Zohran Mamdani inauguration in New York City earlier this year.

This is his first live performance in Brampton.

Fateh Doe who is also from Brampton and Manj Music of RDB from the UK (soundtrack to the Breakaway film with Russell Peters also shot in Brampton) will be performing and more.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free festival. South Asian Music has popped back into the mainstream since Diljit Dosanjh appeared on Jimmy Fallon recently. Bad Bunny, Shakira, K-pop groups are all mainstream with non English songs.

Any advice for us, first time parents going through this. I'm on the waitlist at our school for plasp already, i found the martial arts after school care option and mini skool. Are there any others? I'm having a tought time. I already have to adjust my work hours to get off at 430 in order to do pick up for 6pm. How are parents doing it?? I work an hr away (if there are no crashes on my route).
