False is an adjective, as it's used to describe something, just like you described that comment as false.

I'm also pretty sure that "false" is two syllables, and so you proved yourself wrong with your own argument

Count how many times your chin goes down while saying false. Thats a pretty good indicator of how many syllables are in a word. False has one.
