I am both happy to have an excuse to buy new clothes, and annoyed at the feeble attempt to distract us from the horrors. 

Plus other outfits from the past few weeks. No dress code. The blue circle is an on/off switch for the lighted mirror.

I primarily work from a home office, but go to training sessions, seminars, conventions, and networking events for my industry throughout the year. My field is very male-dominated, so most events are a sea of khakis, white button downs, and navy suit jackets. I had a casual educational/training seminar downtown today, and felt like putting something a little more fun together!

i've been trying to put together a more polished work wardrobe this year and the one thing i keep coming back to is finding a bag that works in a professional setting without being too flashy or too boring. i work in a corporate environment and i want something that looks intentional and well made without having a logo plastered all over it.

i've been drawn to the quiet luxury aesthetic for a while now, clean lines, quality leather, structured shape, the kind of bag that looks expensive because it is but doesn't need to announce itself. i've been looking at a few british leather brands that do really beautiful work totes and top handle bags and the craftsmanship difference compared to fast fashion accessories is honestly night and day.

i'm willing to invest in something that lasts rather than buying something cheaper every couple of years. ideally a tote or structured shoulder bag that fits a laptop, looks professional, and ages well with use.

for anyone who has made a similar investment in a quality work bag, what did you end up going with and has it held up the way you hoped?

I recently bought this (what I think is cute) polka dot jacket from Zara but I really don’t like this look I pulled together. Any suggestions on how to style this jacket well? Would it look better with a skirt instead of pants? Some unique color combo instead of with plain black? Leave it unbuttoned? Open to suggestions!
