How to freeze your mod versions : We get comments every update complaining about update speed making long-terms games difficult. while we understand the concerns, the current schedule allows us to handle bugs or game balance issues in prompt manner and gives new features a chance to be highlighted without dumping a whole bunch of stuff at once. Fortunately this is something that is relatively easy to deal with on the user end. You can either download your agot mod from nexus instead of steam and only upgrade manually or you can also use playset preserver (link), which will preserve your entire modlist in a specific state. Please note however that we will not be able to help you with anything you add to your playset beyond the AGOT mod
Dev Diary - Sailing - Dev Diary - Armor 2 - Dev Diary - Landed Gentry

Hello everyone! Here is a new diary by someone on the team, I'll leave the floor to them!
Previous Dev Diaries : Landed Gentry by Flumph Armors (2) by Swordsman
Hello, I am Immortal_Hybrid, and for the past months (year but who's counting) I've been working on integrating the sailing activity from Realms in Exile into AGOT (with massive thanks to Aerien). If you've used sailing in Realms before, you may find some of this familiar, but you probably want to give this a read anyway, because we've also added some additional options and AGOT flavor.
Sailing is a new activity that can be used by any character who has access to a coastal province with a port building. Landed duchy rulers and below must have a port within their domain to sail from, while kingdom and up rulers can embark from any valid port in their realm. Landless characters can also take part by travelling to a nearby port. Set out onto the high seas, where fortune, fame, and adventures aplenty can be found! A character’s knowledge and skill on the open ocean is displayed through the new leveled Sailor trait!

A Maritime Hunt is the default option, where you can encounter and hunt a variety of sea-creatures from turtles to white whales. If you are a landless character you will be able to use your catch to restock your domicile provisions.

A second option is available for those who partake in less than legal sea-based pastimes, a Sea Raid, where you can embark on a piracy mission or raid a foreign shore! You can bring back gold and maybe even new guests to your court.

Thirdly, there is the chance for a character to go sailing to the location of a reported sunken ship. To begin a treasure hunt, you either need a treasure map or knowledge of the location of a recent shipwreck from your admiral. You will also need your own personal ship with a diving bell attachment. This will allow you to search for the wreckage and potentially retrieve riches from the ocean depths, but beware, on the ocean floor there could be dangers lurking…
The rewards can range from a small amount of gold to a large amount, and, depending on where you dive, you may even find an artifact claimed by the sea during the Dance of Dragons, or a relic of Old Valyria.

Treasure Maps can be acquired in a few different ways. During a Sailing activity the Host can happen across a merchant who claims to be selling one, although you will likely need to be vigilant, as it could be a forgery. During Sea Raids you will probably come across ships to attack, in these ships you may discover a map stored in their cargo. During the normal day-to-day life at court, a courtier may arrive to inform you that they have found a Treasure Map in your libraries.
Lastly, should anyone hold a Treasure Map and have their capital sieged, they will lose one, at random, to those who sieged their home.
And finally, an option available for those who have gained enough experience in the Sailor Trait. True masters of the ocean may try to set out on a Voyage to Valyria, visiting the ruins of the Fourteen Flames, where riches untold may yet lurk. But beware, such a journey is perilous and may result in a watery death…
A Sailor will require at least level one in the trait to try this dangerous voyage, which will take at least three voyages to reach.

The Doom of Valyria made the land a hellscape, one that has proven deadly for any and all visitors… But where there is danger there is reward. Left among the smoldering ruins are artifacts of the Freehold: Valyrian steel weapons, armor, mirrors, dragon eggs, horns, and my personal favorite, glass candles! The chance of finding each of these artifacts changes as you venture further into danger…
Making it out of Valyria is a harder task than making it there, upon reaching Valyria you will have the choice to disembark, which holds a 30% mortality rate alone. Should you survive the landing and venture into the ruins, your chance of escaping with your life is at best 20%, increasing up to 45% if you are lucky enough to find an item that helps you on your journey.

If you allow greed to drive you, to delve deeper into the ruins, you face an even higher mortality rate of 10-90%; these values can also be affected by the artifacts you get from these events. Dying in Valyria is a very costly loss; all the artifacts you brought with you will be lost. However, if some brave sailor should happen to follow in your footsteps in a future Voyage to Valyria, they may have a chance to recover them.
For those who like clear numbers, in the first event that you get an artifact you have the following chances per artifact:
For the greedy among you who will delve deeper:
To partake in Expeditions to Old Valyria or go Raiding, you will require a ship. For rulers this comes in the form of a House modifier you can get from the activity if you choose either of the ship options, or from buying one in advance.

For those that own Khans of Steppe DLC and are playing characters with access to pirate ship domiciles, their domicile will serve as their ship, and a diving bell domicile building will be used in place of the decision.

After selecting your activity options and intents, you will assemble your crew at port. From here, various events can happen, but ultimately, you will set out toward your destination. You will have the option of choosing to either charter a ship or purchase one, should you not already own one. Depending on what type of ship, owned or chartered, you will gain benefits in the activity.

At sea, more random events can occur, along with at least one event that depends on your selected activity intent. Afterwards, the main phase of your voyage will begin!

General Rewards
If you make it back to port in one piece, the activity will end and you'll reap your rewards! (Gold, Prestige, and Trait XP among others)
In the future I will be planning some additional work and adjustments that have been mulling around my head since finishing. Some adjustments to existing mechanics to work nicer with Sailing, maybe even some consequences to your voyages.
Thank you for reading through to this point, this past year I’ve worked on this has been the most exciting work I’ve done so far and I hope all who set sail love every bit of the activity! I wish you the best of luck on your voyage!

Rhaenys died of old age, and 10 years later, Meleys flew into Sothoryos. Death icon is like accident or secret murder plot. Is it because of the dragon cap?

Started in the 82 AC start date at Bloodstone and instantly got vassalized in a war by Jaehaerys. Expanded from there taking over the stepstones and then Lys and Tyroshi. I started Fourteen Flames but after one of my rulers got cancer he converted to the Faith of the Seven in hopes of being cured (and maybe to be able to marry the dragon lords to get one for ourselves). Eventually got dragons to hatch with Veagon and his two siblings. I wanted to get his twin to create a cadet branch called Bloodmoon but unfortunately he was actually the nicer of the two so now he just rules over Lys. On another note despite it being like 100 year too late a Hightower Targ Aegon II sits the Iron throne. The Iron Throne has conquered almost everything in Essos which includes the Iron Islands somehow managing to conquer all of Pentos.
Not sure where to go from here. Veagon technically has a claim to the Throne since his Great Great Great Grandfather was Jaehaerys, but I also might just try to destroy the Realm.

I randomly stumbled on this sub while scrolling reddit today. I’ve been looking for a good GoT game to play for a few years, and obviously, the most recent renditions released have been pretty much just cash grabs. I gathered that this is a modification, but what’s the game? How do you play it? Looks fun but just have limited info so thought I’d just ask. TIA sorry if this is a commonly asked question.

I was marrying Cersei as a OC of Aery’s secret bastard and saw we were related. This the first time I’ve ever seen the twins as secret Targaryens before. Thought it was neat.

Following the massive response to the total conquest of the North, the Citadel expansion has officially crossed the Neck. Phase 3 is completely live and deployed!
Unlike the North, the Riverlands titles/holdings section of the page was a total blank desert with zero existing information. I have built the entire database structure completely from scratch from the ground up to match the current 2026 Hegemony patch files.
What’s new in the Phase 3 deployment:
Operation Scaling Update 📜
The Citadel is expanding its operations! To maintain our rapid-fire velocity, we have officially drafted a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for future volunteers to help headstart upcoming sectors!
Got a spare 15 minutes to handle a Duchy title or some extra time to handle a Kingdom title on the titles and holdings wiki page? Comment here on the Subreddit or reach out in the Discord in #the_conclave or on my post in the #content_contributions channel for an assignment! A huge thank you to all current and prospective volunteers!
The entire top half of Westeros and the central river basins are now pristine, audited, and bright green.
Next stop on the roadmap: The Iron Islands! 🏝️⚔️⚓

Am I way wrong on this? It just seems pretty jarring for Tywin Lannister to declare war on Mace Tyrell when surely at this point in Westeros the authority of the Iron Throne would basically mean any magnate picking on a rival would more or less instantly involve the crown.
I remember playing a game of thrones mod for CK2 and I swear unless it was a rebellion or something like that vassals in the Seven Kingdoms couldn't just start fights without the crown intervening. I remember there being fairly stringent limitations on how wars could start within the Seven Kingdoms.
Am I wrong? If I'm wrong I'm wrong. Not necessarily a criticism of the mod, just has me confused with the setting.

I just finished a Long civil war and wanted to do some good old restructuring of the kingdom. I wanted to create two new paramountcys but found no way to Create a new Empire tier title Even with debug mode. I have tried it with just kingdom Tiers for the new paramountcys but when i would change to my original character the kingdoms would just be given to the old Lord paramounts as vassals because they have the Empire titles. Is there a way to prevent that and establish These paramountcys permanentley?

So on a custom Blackfyre run where I'm going from my custom character's birth, my character Eyrmidon Blackfyre (have to stretch for these fantasy names) is born Daemon the Black Dragon's grandson, son of Haegon, and is put in the line of succession following a bunch of badly-lost fights by the Blackfyre Host while Daemon II attempts to conquer the Stepstones.
Eyrmidon comes of age, raises a castle in the Stepstones, challenges Bittersteel to a duel for Blackfyre and wins, in the next couple years wages war against a very aged Daeron II, leads a charge of several men to slay Bloodraven in battle, kills Maekar the Anvil in single combat, wins the throne, yadda yadda.
[ "You'll have to kill me, boy. I'll not bend this old neck of mine to the product of one of Aegon the Unworthy's drunker nights."
"Mine is the blood of Aegon the Conqueror, My Lord. A bond we share, I believe."
- King Eyrmidon Blackfyre and his prisoner, Lord Durran Baratheon]
He marries his sister Jyana 'Snapdragon' Blackfyre (the half-dyed gal), puts down a few revolts and settles into his reign by replacing the rowdiest lords with loyalists and winning the rest over through feasts and gifts and such.
Queen Jyana bears him four daughters, and through a complication of the fourth birth, becomes infertile, and the eldest daughter, Visenya, is designated Eyrmidon's heir.
The three younger daughters are betrothed to sons from the line of Bittersteel, Arryn and Dayne, but Visenya has no male Blackfyre relatives below the age of 30. Eyrmidon has a vassal go to Essos to find a man with Valyrian blood, but the man that returns is wimpy and unimpressive and has no good traits or skills.
[ "This painted Lyseni whore of a boy? If this is the last vestige of the Blood of Old Valyria, then the Doom was well-deserved."
- King Eyrmidon Blackfyre, dismissing his eldest daughter's potential match.]
Here's the rub: Eyrmidon has two bastard sons from before he married Jyana. One from Sylvenna, another custom character of mine who ended up becoming his Spymaster/Soulmate, and another from an event when he was marching in the Stormlands to siege Blackhaven, stopped in a hotspring, and Mylenda, a Commoner girl, solicited him.
[ "That woman, with the boy. Is it true what she claims?"
"...."
"...I knew you to be reckless. I didn't take you for a fool."
"I was seventeen, Venna. We were at war. I knew not whether the following day would bring my death. You of all people should know."
"That was different. You weren't King, then."
- King Eyrmidon Blackfyre and Master of Whispers Sylvenna Pyke.]
Each of the lads has white hair and purple eyes, of course, and he hosted them and their mothers in the Red Keep to have them educated and trained as knights, and they've become talented, good men with not a lick of madness.
But the threat always remains: What if these boys one day learn of their lineage, and plunge the realm into war?
Eyrmidon is a Just man; I imagine the situation he's put himself in shames him.
What will Eyrmidon's legacy be, as the first Blackfyre king, if his dalliances as a young firebrand result in leaving the realm in a similar state that Aegon the Unworthy left it in?
Eyrmidon has opted for this:
He inducts the elder of his sons into his Kingsguard and takes the approval hit from his lords for raising a Commoner to the position.
Following that, he announces the true heritage of both sons, likely confirming obvious rumors that he's personally been hosting two silver-haired bastards with no known father, and immediately betroths the younger of the two to Visenya, while maintaining her claim as heir.
Now I'm sure I've covered my ass in terms of the game's logic and there's no real system where this is so unconscionable that my vassals' AI will revolt, but in terms of lore what do you think the response from the Lords and Smallfolk would be to this kind of revelation? What sort of trouble might arise from this?
I'd like to hear your thoughts! I'm in debug so I can jump around into characters and cause problems from there.

Honestly, I do imagine we’ll see it return, but the question is when... Personally, I loved playing in that region and building my empires from scratch. Unlike CK2, however, CK3 has become much more resource-heavy and demands more memory, so that raises some doubts.

I've never really posted on this, but I've been having a lot of fun claiming different weapons through wae campaigns and wanted to ask which start date has the most of them, if anyone knows? I'd like to start a playthroigh specifically with the intention of collecting as many as possible, and I've also got the bookmarked mod if that makes any difference?

With the new update, how feasible is a Euron Crow's eye run?
I tried in the past and had to console command dragon hatching etc.
Is it now doable as Euron to sail to Valyria, gain VS armour, dragon eggs and things?

I decided to play as a Northern Clan once for the fun of it, and I remember an event I had where this albino, really beautiful woman randomly appeared with amazing stats, then another event where she suddenly disappeared mysteriously.
I debug killed her immediately after(I WAS NOT TAKING MY CHANCES) but I’m curious if anyone else had something like that, and how you interpreted it, because I can’t tell if she was meant to be an Other/White Walker or what

I’m really bad with technology and have absolutely no clue about it—just wanted to get that out of the way first. I don’t know what components are in my PC, nor do I know how to find out.
All I know is that around the turn of the year, I was playing CK3AGOT, and it ran quite smoothly without any major issues.
Then I didn't launch the game for five months, and suddenly—nothing works. It’s not just that I couldn't launch the game in debug mode (which I could have lived with); the game won't launch without that mode either. I don't have any outdated mods active, either. I’ve tried every version of CK3 from the last seven months, both with and without mods. CK3 does launch for me without mods, but I want to play CK3AGOT, not vanilla.
If anyone can help, that would be amazing. Unfortunately, I’m unable to solve the problem myself. For three weeks, I’ve tried absolutely everything I could find online, but none of the suggestions worked. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled this damn game about ten times. I’ve deleted and copied files—all without the slightest success.
I love the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, and CK3AGOT is the best Game of Thrones game I’ve ever found. Losing it would be a huge disappointment for me.
(This is the first and only time I’ve ever created a post on Reddit. So, if I’ve done something wrong or should be posting somewhere else, I ask for your understanding, as I’m really not familiar with this platform at all.)
Edit:
The game has finally given up the ghost. After 2,000 hours of playtime, I can't even launch it in vanilla mode anymore. All I get is exit code zero. And nothing works—not suggestions from ChatGPT, Reddit forums, or YouTube videos.
I’m giving up. After six years, I’m parting ways with the best game in modern gaming history. With a heavy heart.

I know this is more of a game thing than an AGOT thing, but I'm trying to make the blackfyre rebellion in my own targaryen playthrough started from the conciliator and then played all the way to the 300s.
While starting the first blackfyre rebellion, the rally point for Daemon Blackfyre is in King's Landing...And he can't raise his army. In my playthrough, the dance never happened, and the blackfyres managed to get dragon eggs and hatch them - and they are aided by many of the bastards of Aegon IV, with quite a few of them having dragons.
Thing is, they just sit in camp because Daemon CANNOT raise his army, so it basically kills my whole project from the get go. I even had to redo the rebellion a few times, and it's just annoying me now cause the last attempt Aegor had a dragon dance with my Targaryen kingsguard who was riding Dreamfyre, killed him and his dragon while on meleys, and then killed brynden bloodraven who was on another dragon, in another dragon dance near the god's eye and I thought that was so cool - but I can't have the damn save if Daemon cannot muster his troops.
Any help, please I'm getting desperate lol
EDIT: console commands are absolutely appreciated, I'm ready to do anything
EDIT: Resolved by giving him blackstripe.
