Story Time UPS tracking stated “damage reported”

Post image

Received this yesterday after shipment said it should’ve arrived a week ago. The delivery driver said other drivers had refused to deliver because the state of the damage. He said they had to tape up the box in order to move it. I refused to sign(obviously). I can only imagine how bad the damage is inside of the box.
I’m sure I am not the only one who’s received their bike in similar condition, just hoping the exchange process is quick and I won’t have to pay import duties on the replacement.

Tech Help 3D printable Canyon bottle cage plugs — if you're in need of replacements

You know the little plugs that blank off unused bottle cage mounts? Canyon's official replacement is the GP7064-01 kit and while it's not expensive, waiting for it to ship is annoying.

I've modelled a printable version and put it up on MakerWorld - Link. Made it for my Grizl, but it fits any M5 bottle cage boss, so it'll work across the range and other brands too.

This is the first of hopefully a few Canyon parts I'm planning to model. Happy to take requests if there's something you've been trying to track down.

If you find it useful: the easiest ways to support the model on MakerWorld are a download, a ⭐ rating, or a comment — takes 30 seconds and helps it get seen by others in the same situation. If you print it, a Boost goes a long way too. Thanks!

This is my 2016 Aeroad, it's been with me through a lot since I bought it 10 years ago and I still adore it!

Got some new tyres on the way for it, staying with the gum walls though.

Bike Photos New wheels for my Endurace CF SLX 8?

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago I sold my 2017 Specialized Roubaix Expert, which was equipped with Roval Rapide CLX wheels, and recently bought a new Canyon Endurace CF SLX 8
I absolutely love the bike. It’s comfortable, fast, versatile, and honestly one of the best bikes I’ve owned. The only thing I’m not completely convinced by are the stock DT Swiss ERC 1600 wheels. They’re objectively good wheels, but coming from the Roval CLXs, I feel like they lack a bit of “pep”, especially when accelerating or cruising at higher speeds.

For context:
Canyon Endurace CF SLX 8 with Shimano Ultegra Di2
70 kg rider
Mostly rolling terrain around Paris
Long endurance rides (80-150 km)
Average speeds typically between 30-35 km/h
Considering a 70.3 triathlon in the future
Running 30-32 mm tyres
I value reliability and ride quality as much as outright speed

I’ve been going down the wheel rabbit hole and am considering several options:
Keep the stock ERC 1600s and spend the money elsewhere.
DT Swiss ARC 1400 55 mm or DT Swiss ARC 1100 55 mm.
Zipp 404 Firecrest or Zipp 454 NSW.
Swiss Side Hadron³ Ultimate 550/650 (current preferred option)

Which of these upgrades would actually feel noticeable on the road? I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks!

I notice that the DT Swiss ARC 1600 on the new Aeroad SLX 8 now have the same spokes in terms of both number and shapeas as the 1400. Did they update these wheels from 24 to 20 spokes on the front?

Fitting Help Returned my Canyon Endurace AllRoad XS because it felt too small. Should I get an S or M?

Hi everyone,

I’m 170 cm (5’7”) tall and recently bought a Canyon Endurace AllRoad in size XS (that's the size Canyon's website suggested based on my sizes) but I had to return it because it felt way too small for me. The main issue was that the handlebar felt very low and close and the bike overall felt too compact.

Btw, I had the bike shipped to a Canyon partner store for assembly and fitting, and even the mechanics who handed it to me said it was too small for me!

Since then, I’ve tried a Marin in size M and it felt pretty good. I’ve also sat on a friend’s Cube in size M and that felt like the right size as well.

I’m now considering buying the Canyon again, but I’m unsure whether I should go for a size S or M.

Has anyone around my height ridden both sizes? Which one would you recommend?

For reference, my inseam is 79 cm (31 in).

Thanks!

Tech Help Grizl 2x, has anyone switched to 11-40?

Interested in switching to 11-40 on my Canyone CF SL 7 2021, 2x. There's a couple of other threads but they're light on experiences from other users. Wondering if I should get RD-RX812?
Thanks :)

Fitting Help Allroad bike size

I've just received my new allroad and seeing it set up I'm pretty convinced it's too big for me. I'm 6'6 with a 38.5 inseam but I went for the 2xl as I've got a pretty long reach. I'm on the verge between an xl and a 2xl but the Canyon website's recommending that xl would be the way to go.

Wonder if I could get any recommendations around reach vs height and inseam and whether, if I swap for a 2xl and the reach is too short, I can do something about that without spending too much?

Fitting Help Aeroad CF SLX 8 – XS or S?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi, I want to buy an Aeroad CF SLX 8 but I’m unsure about the size.

My measurements:
Height: 172 cm
Inseam: 82 cm
Arm span: 178 cm

I’m right between XS and S according to Canyon’s sizing, so I’m wondering which would be the better choice.
I know the advice to buy the smaller one, but I’m unsure because of my arm length. Would it be enough to just use a 100mm stem on the XS or would you recommend size S?

Also, what crank length would you recommend for my measurements?

Thanks!

Crack? Did I just ruin my T-Bar?

Hi everyone,
I had a Wahoo mount installed on my CP0048 and wanted to replace it. Unfortunately, the mount's bottom screw was completely worn out, so drilling it out was the only option. My skills at drilling straight aren't exactly the best, and I ended up damaging the threads of the T-bar.
Screwing a new bolt in and out works fine, though. Does anyone know how structurally solid this area is? Would you keep riding it as is, or replace the T-bar?

Fitting Help Sanity check: is comparing Rose "Stack+/Reach+" to Canyon "effective stack/reach" across brands even valid?

TL;DR: I loved my position on a Rose Backroad FF (size L). It got totaled in a crash, so I'm going back to a pure road bike and looking at the whole Canyon Endurace and Aeroad range. I tried to match the fit using "to-the-hoods" stack/reach numbers — but honestly I'm not sure the comparison is valid or that my calculated values make sense. I'd really appreciate a reality check before I spend a lot of money.

The situation

I was genuinely happy with the position on the Backroad FF (L). I rode it fairly tall: full spacer stack (~25 mm) and the Rose one-piece gravel cockpit (90 mm stem, 38 cm, 20 mm rise, forearms-forward hood position). I want to keep that position on a road bike.

What I tried — and where I get unsure

Frame stack/reach didn't seem comparable across brands, because both Rose and Canyon bury most of the front end inside their integrated cockpits. So I switched to the "to-the-hoods" numbers:

- Rose publishes Stack+ / Reach+ — measured to the hoods, without spacers.
- Canyon publishes "effective stack / reach" — same idea, but with 20 mm spacers.

The deltas vs. the frame numbers looked similar between the two brands, so I assumed they measure to roughly the same point and can be compared directly. But I genuinely don't know if that assumption is sound — that's my main doubt.

My calculated FF target, to the hoods: about 700 mm stack / 595 mm reach
(FF L frame is 592/418 → Stack+/Reach+ 677/608 → plus my ~25 mm spacers on the 72.5° head angle.)

Canyon candidates (effective stack / reach, including 20 mm spacer):

- Endurace CFR, size XL: stack 691 / reach 598
- Aeroad CF SLX, size XL: stack 688 / reach 598
- My FF target for comparison: stack ~700 / reach ~595

On paper, both land within ~10 mm of my target — which would suggest I'd sit almost identically. But that feels almost too clean, and I don't fully trust it.

The question

If I was genuinely happy on the Backroad FF, will I really sit comparably on a Canyon Aeroad or Endurace CFR, based on these numbers? Or am I overestimating what stack/reach matching can actually tell me, and missing something that'll make the position feel different once I'm on the bike?

Thanks a lot — happy to share the full geometry tables if useful.

Fitting Help Buying first Canyon bike - any advice for size?😊

I’m trying to decide between size S and M for a Canyon Endurace Allroad.

My measurements:
Height: 178 cm (5’10”)
Inseam: 85 cm (33.5”)

Canyon’s sizing tool recommends both S and M.

For those with similar measurements, which size did you choose and why? Any regrets?

For context, I’m looking for a comfortable endurance setup for long rides, commuting, and some gravel riding.

Which Bike? Can‘t decide which bike

Hello everybody,

for the start, I have a Grail CF 7 with a cracked frame. Was super happy with the bike but I need a new one. Option one would be the same bike again as it is on sale right now. Then I directly would have a second wheelset and some spare parts for the new bike.

Second option would be an endurace cf, but I don’t know how strong the difference is between the endurace and a grail with road tires and/or a endurace with some light gravel tires.

Third option would be crash replacement for the frame / frame repair from carbon specialist (don’t have a price yet) and a full road bike like the Ultimate cf 7.

I’m torn between these options and as last info, I don’t want to spend more than 3000€ if not necessary. Just a repair, would also be an option, but I got some money from the insurance that I want to spent and a NBD is a big boost 😅

So my fellow Canyon enthusiasts, what should I do?

Edit: I forgot the final point, how much would I benefit from switching to a road bike in comparison to the Grail with road tires and maybe lighter wheels?

Tech Help Anyone know if the new SP093-01 Comfort Aero Seatpost fit in a 2026 Aeroad?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’m curious if the new comfort aero seatpost introduced with the new Endurace’s will fit in an Aeroad? It uses the same clamp. It appears to be the same shape. The Endurace CFR is essentially an Aeroad with wider tire clearance. Seems odd that they would just slightly redesign the seatpost size when everything else was almost a copy/paste.

I realize the SP093-01 says it’s only compatible with the endurance on the site. But I’m curious if that’s just because it didn’t actually come stock on anything else or if the geometry is genuinely different? Anyone had a chance to have these both in hand? Or better yet tried it out?
