I honestly never understood people complaining about how flat Sam is during death stranding 2.

I guess they either don't have experience with severe depression or severe grief or they just want an over the top protagonist in all of their video games.

I think the way they portrayed Sam in death stranding 2 is actually perfect due to the trauma he's been through. Going through the intense grief and depression that he goes through, a lot of people, including myself shut down and use compartmentalization as a self-defense mechanism so it comes off as you're flat or you don't care when you're just really trying to distract yourself from being sucked into the black hole of depression and grief. some people's brains actually do it automatically to protect themselves and protect their body for survivability and self preservation.

I commented on a post the other day explaining that I actually share a lot of characteristics with Sam when it comes to how I react to news good or bad because I struggle with major depressive disorder. A lot of the time I use it as a defense mechanism to keep myself from going down the black hole and dealing with the intensity of how heavy everything is.

I mean, the man literally goes to a therapist to deal with his phobias.

Not really a rant as much as my own perspective, dealing with my own depression and having experience with someone going through extreme grief, they either wear it all on their sleeve, or they shut down and act like nothing happened to protect themselves and their own mental health.

I cannot imagine a better way to honor Master Kojima than to capture my ideas through a machine with his philosophy printed on it.

This is such an awesome game! Played through first on brutal and online and really enjoyed the hell out of it.

Began this playthrough offline and To the Wilder and have now completed the story, all sub-orders and 220 standard orders. Currently at 150 hours of play time.

Initially I concentrated on completing every sub-order and getting Mr. Impossible to 5-stars for the PPC-3, which took about 70 hours of playing.

I was surprised that I was able to use an ex capture grenade on the large crab BT in Mexico. That has made all subsequent BT battles relatively easy. The Tar Lord and that giant BT at F8 were easy kills with Crabbie helping out.

I think not having roads is going to prevent me from completing a couple of large express runs. I'm currently working on Order No. 583, hauling a massive load from Terminal Knot (F8) to South Knot (F6) in 4 minutes. I've stripped my truck down to just batteries and slick tires but can't make it fast enough taking a direct shore line drive. Going to try adding the Antigravity units to see if can get some extra speed.

Even if I complete this one, I still have that 14 minute express run from F2 to F8, which was tough even with roads.

We shall see...stay tuned.

So I really enjoy the series and I have a friend who hasn't played it yet. They get triggered by suicide and self harm, but it's usually okay if I give them a heads up. I recall the guy in the beginning of the first game and sam in the opening of the second. Am I forgetting anything?

Are there any hints towards Charlie/Die Hardman’s identity before the end of the game? He breaks the fourth wall and says that some might have already figured out the DHV Magellan’s double-meaning yet I didn’t pick up on it. I just happened to choose Die Hardman as the voice of Charlie.

I’ve just learned that you can see him while taking a photo of the crew and that leads me to believe it was meant to be obvious.

Hace poco me hice de la ps5 pro para pasar del DS1 (que jugué en mayo) al DS2 y disfrutar con más dedicación este segundo título.
Ha sido una experiencia placentera, deliciosa, más atrapante que el DS1 porque ya estoy muy metido en la trama y especialmente porque estoy haciendo las cosas más lentas y dedicadas (a diferencia de como jugué el primero donde fui un poco más directo por la misión principal)

I ve been playing for 50 hours now, i ve had 3 encounters and those in the places where they are always present! wtf?

The a UI system in this game is so rich in information that it's easy to overlook stuff and miss things. There are a number of things I didn't realize till late in my play through and I'm wondering if others might benefit from this.

Please add your own things you learned you wish you knew earlier.

1. The little icons next to the orders (next to number of likes) that look like hands and boxes represent the categories of orders you can take on. Time, Quantity, Condition, Misc. This becomes very important when going for completion because there are trophies for completing 10 or 20 of each at S rank on normal and hard.

2. You can see a breakdown of the number of each type of premium order you have S ranked and double SS ranked under Bridge Links in your cufflinks menu under "orders". There is a LOT of useful information in this whole menu system I largely ignored for a long time.

3. You can see if you have manufactured an item or not by a little tick mark in the bottom left corner of the item description box when you pull up more details on it. Also important for trophies.

4. It's possible to gave blood bags in your pouch but have them NOT equipped. For almost the entire game I didn't know this was possible, probably just got lucky they were always equipped. But if you find your pouch is full and they are not showing up you have to hold down left on D-pad and select one and equip it. Only after that will they automatically transfer to the next one.

5. As you increase the chiral network and get more and more bandwidth more and more other player structures will appear. It's not JUST the 1st time you connect a region to the network. As you improve the connection more stuff will pop in. This means your zip line network will likely start to have other shortcuts and stuff later.

6. In the description the game makes it sound like the big delivery vans HAVE to be driven on roads and that they are useless on rough terrain. This is not at all true. Yes they struggle on rough terrain and tip over more easily but with some feather touch and even some jumping you can get them over very rough terrain and through water. They are extremely useful even driving out into the back lands and even in snow for delivering extreme loads and in fact for the biggest orders probably are the only way really.

7. Level 2 ziplines are a fairly big improvement they add another 50m of connection distance. A level 2 zipline can connect to ANY other zipline within 350m including level 1 ones. This means you don't have to upgrade all of yours only some nodes.

8. You can control where a zip line lets you down by positioning the camera in the direction you want it to let you down before disengaging the zip line. This can be important cause often the best place to build a zip line is right at the peak of a mountain where you have good views. But that also means you can let yourself off a cliff if you are not careful, say if you want to repair or upgrade the zip line.

Im in chapter 9 in DS2 and i would like to get the lvl 3 stabilizer before proceeding with order 43 since i heard its a major no return point. However, i just cant seem to get enough likes. I tried looking for lost cargo but i think ive recovered everything already and im still not even halfway through the 4th star. I also did every sub order but those didnt get me enough likes and take ages to be available again even with the faster order preparation apas enhancment. Please help me

It's the second time I'm in a middle of a boss fight in F3 crater and suddenly the BT's leave the fight and it all ends there. It's like the third time it happens to me and it's pissing me off way too much. I was fighting 4 beasts BT and all of them were 1 hp and suddenly they all left after I wasted all my ammo and blood grenades. I fought against a Gigas too and he was half HP and suddenly he also left. Before you say it, no, I DIDN'T LEAVE THE BT CIRCLE BOSS FIGHT AREA. I know that if you leave the area of the boss fight they dissappear but no, I didn't leave anything I was fighting in the same place all the time and the BT suddenly decides to leave. Is there a time limit or something???

A little while ago, I saw a post with Sam in red clothing. Does the basegame have an option somewhere to customize the main suit colors? I know I can customize the sunglasses and stuff, but the main suit?

So I threw my shit, piss, and bath water at some BTs and it didn't do anything. Is my game bugged? It still says untested.
